The fall colors have peaked in my area, which means the brightest trees are now dropping their leaves and the village is shoveling them into humongous piles in the middle of the street early in the morning. Leaves get piled up like snow here—huge soft piles of orange and yellow and red and brown–and they come and take it all away.
There is something so glorious about this change of season despite the fact that I am not looking forward to winter. It’s nature’s final glorious gasp before settling down for a long sleep. That’s why this pretty ensemble is so apt—it’s an homage to October and perfect for this transitional weather. I start with a soft comfy cowl-neck sweater from Betty Doyle, topping one of Leezu Baxter’s newest skirts with tweedy texture and coordinating accents, and a flirty fun sculpty ruffle. Long socks from Maria Gherardi (get the pack—very versatile) and cute boots from Ivanka Akina round out the look.
Of course, my look is about the details. My hair is a darling new ‘do from chiaki Xue, a take on Emma Watson’s pixie cut. I love this look—carefree, lively, feminine. If I could carry off a pixie in RL, I totally would (though it would mean frequent hair cuts.. hmm). My skin is one of Gala Phoenix’s fall shades with lovely warm coloring. Glasses are from MandyMandy McMillan. I don’t need to tell you twice, however, how versatile they are with color-changing frame and lenses. And where am I going with my suitcase? Well, nowhere really but it sure looks cute, especially since it’s a bargain find from Taki Lowey.
