I read an article today where a lady explained why she says “Namaste.” She said it was the acknowledgement of the Divine spark or light in another person. As you fold your hands to greet another, you are sending greetings from your light to theirs. I found that very beautiful and profound.
I think we need to acknowledge this light in others in SL too. Though we don’t see each other’s physical body, we do see each other’s embodiment and touch each other’s spark. I do it every day when I chat in a group or wear someone’s creation or see someone’s build. For example, a mesh dress like this one from Barbra Kungler. It’s chic and sophisticated. It’s made by a lady in Brazil! Where else could have the chance to even see her spark but in SL? Or Nardya Rousselot’s latest shoes, out of the mind of a woman in Central America. Or this chic handbag from Davidefre, an Italian designer.
Shai Delacroix, a lovely lady from the Philippines, made my face. Talking to Shai, it’s like talking to a girl who lives down the block, but she lives on the other side of the world. She created this beautiful skin to add to the meager selection of skins for women of color and made something luscious and sexy.
My hair is from a lady whose spark has warmed my heart—Queue Marlowe. As she takes care of her puppy Queue (yes, she named herself after her dog), she invents these beautiful hair creations for us and then IMs me about how excited she is about her sunglasses. (Color change, dontcha know—you can even make them disappear.)
Find the Divine spark in each other. Touch that light and feel its warmth.
