Are you tired of that whole thing.. “Brown is the new black, gray is the new black, red is the new black.” Guess what? Black is the new black.
Or so Takuya Jinn and Marie Lauridsen would have us think. I combo’ed these two sensational pieces into one outfit to show how well black comes off. (It is also a lot more forgiving for designers and for wearers—hides a lot of sins and we don’t have dandruff in SL, so that’s never a problem.)
Takuya’s top, which comes complete with the silver chain you see, is a useful number as it comes as a regular long-sleeved turtleneck, a cropped long sleeve piece, and the sleeveless one you see here. I would tell Takuya that normally ladies wear their necklace tucked under the turtleneck but other than that, it’s great work.
Marie’s harem pants are super funky with a great silhouette. Wear them with a dressed up turtleneck or wear them down with a hoodie. They are versatile and have a different sort of look than jeans or pants. (And they show off my fabulous gams, provided here by Tricky Boucher).
The glasses and ring are exquisite pieces from Aslan Kish. They are really for the avatar herself—one spends quite a lot of time gazing at the infinitely tiny prims making up the ring and glasses—prims that are not that noticeable from far away. The shape of the glasses is fantastic.
Finally boots from Onyx LeShelle, a sort of second generation after her first sets that introduced great sculpty work with luscious suede-y textures to the grid. These repeat the formula with a fashion-forward silhouette. They have been out a while, but they are still great. (We at A Passion for Virtual Fashion are not about the newest things. We are about the best things.)
