I might get warm here finally. We are suffering the last few days of spring with rain and 55 but the flowers are planted and seem to be thriving. The Meyer lemon plant Eshi gave me for my birthday is blooming. (OMG, BEST smelling blossoms EVER.) My bike is out and about. Spring has finally come!

In celebration, I am wearing a look that is not promoting anything really except I like it. Hadarah Steamer has a great little store with mesh and jewelry, mostly RP-related items, but her textures and pieces are excellent and everything is very inexpensive. I loved this green dress, especially with the gorgeous belt and arm cuffs that come with it. This is chic, no matter where you go! Anemysk Karu is offering these gorgeous heels at Fashion for Life. (See? I slipping something in!)

Queue Marlowe brought out this great up-do a couple weeks ago and I love how she piles it on. Queue, who has never been one who fears abundance, gives us curls on curls, with her distinctive curl textures with great high and low lights. Matched with one of Umazuma Metaluna’s distinctively gorgeous skins and new mesh eyes from Jale Jules (which seem to show lighter in my windlight), it’s a look to pass from Spring to Summer.

Not sure the hard sell is going to work but let me try a little soft sell with this gorgeous outfit from Dainie Fraina. I have been a too-secret fan of Dainie’s—I really love her clothing, which is tinged with African and in this case, Indian influences. Her HUD is easy to use for texture change on this outfit and allows separate changes to the top, skirt and hair flower. I love the beat of the djemba every time a change is made. A portion of every sale is donated to Relay for Life.

Freya Olivieri is one of the sim sponsors and she has always been a strong supporter of Fashion for Life. She is offering several pieces with 50% donation to the American Cancer Society on top of her generous donation to be a sim sponsor. The gorgeous earrings I wear are just the tip of the iceberg as far as the beautiful pieces Freya is offering, and her pieces are top notch, from the design of the mesh to the textures to interface and scripts.

I really hate when people jump into group chat and say, “I’m bo-ored,” don’t you? How can you possibly be bored in SL? If you are, log off. Yet the coolness of bored seems to pervade some venues. I don’t get bored, especially when you can change your look every day.

Today I have put on an assortment of pieces to equal the girl in black. First a new top from Nyte Caligari, who continues to put quality content into SL after all these years, never stopping, always improving. I love the asymmetrical nature of this top. Then we have this spangled skirt from Ivey Deschanel (who rocks the glitter in her textures). I pulled on opera gloves from Anemysk Karu for a touch of glamour and hooked in earrings from Linka Demina for a bit of fabulousness.

Then I pulled on these cyberfantastic boots from ono Zinner. The brilliant thing about this set are the animations in the soles and running up the backs of the zippers, and the great HUD for changing the colors of the details to whatever you like. The texture of the boots can be changed to four different styles (I am wearing black carbon here), and there are 10 available animations for the soles. How can you be bored when you can find fantasy boots like these?

Kissed By the Sun

Back to sunshine and warm weather. I spent the day outside gardening—pulling up weeds (how is that they are the first to bloom), thinning my Siberian irises and nepeta and bee balm, and discovering where the chipmunks have made their new home. When I got in, I found I had a glowy sunburn on my nose and cheeks.

So it was with great delight that I donned a white sundress to show off my new tan. (A tan that is, in SL, not detrimental to my health, thank you.) This dress from Marea Kirax is light and airy with a lovely crocheted bodice, reminding me of sitting out on the back porch, enjoying a cool drink and savoring my hard work in the garden.

And my skin? Well Monicuzza Babenco is truly the author of this whole story. Her summer skin is an evocative reminder of a day well spent in the sun. Perhaps it’s a day spent on a boat, sailing over cool waters. Or a day spent on the slopes, skiing. For me, it’s a day doing honest work and making my world a prettier place.

Big pretty earrings from Anemysk Karu dress up the look, bringing attention to the glow in my face and dangling almost down to my berry brown shoulders.
