When you have had a second life long enough, you find out who you are but also who you might be if you feel like it. I confess here I have crossed genders as Harper. I have done this to try on men’s clothes, men’s skins, men’s hair and men’s shoes. I confess: I have been a man.
My latest urge to be a man came after visiting Shelly Toonie’s shop, Moonshine. She had such a terrific array of men’s clothes, I started experiencing that little itch—the desire to dress up in the clothes of the opposite sex and strut myself. I was the opposite of RuPaul. I wanted to dress up and gaze longingly at myself. There is something so fine about men… *sigh*.
The terrific thing about Shelly’s clothes is that they are practical and wearable for men. The one thing I have learned about many men is that they do not want to think about their fashion. They want to look cool and put together without a lot of fuss. Shelly makes it easy for them with her handsome shirts and pants. Her textures are well drawn with versatile colors for coordinating. She knows what men want. (I have a sneaking hunch some of it is due to input from our dear friend, Dazz, who has always been a man who knows what he wants and who is the luscious model in some of her ads.)
I made my man handsome with this unreleased skin from Pulse and this totally gorgeous hair from Aemilia Case. I have heard men whine and complain there is no decent hair for men in SL. (I heard M Linden himself say it last year at his keynote at SLCC.) Go check this one out and several others from Aemilia and tell me you still can’t find something. (And if you can’t, you’re just too darn hard to please.)
