With that title, you expected to see me when I get up in the morning I bet.
I was feeling edgy, and not a little overwhelmed after I had finished shopping at the sale at Tropical Orchid that Ms. Nicky Ree holds ever year. I wanted to blog something to mention this sale, since it’s the source of so much joy and inventory pain for me. And I knew the Dragon Princess suit would be exactly the ticket.
See, nobody thinks about Nicky as edgy. She makes pretty dresses, right? Well poke around the store a little more and you will find a lot—deliciously decadent lingerie, beautifully rendered period pieces, eensy weensy bikinis, and fantasywear. Nicky does great work with textures, including beautiful motifs, including the dragon on this suit.
I did up the suit with a hair from MissAllSunday Lemon that I just love for various reasons, most of all its sculptural shape. A fantasy skin from Lion Jonesford matches the ensemble. What really got me about this skin was how it looked so real even though it doesn’t look real. It has depth and expression and a vulnerability that is hard to pinpoint.
And then boots from Viktoria Brandenburg. She has made fetish cool and wearable without being over the top or ugly. These are a secret weapon.
