Some people put together a delicious dessert for New Year’s Eve. Me? I have cherries from Moonbubble Gothly on this bubble dress, available in ten delicious flavors, including cherries. Torn tights from Erratic Rain, combat boots from Khai Sinister (they still look great), and ancient cherry earrings from Antonia Marat (ever wonder why my inventory so huge?) make this look sweet as a cherry!

If my face and body look a little different, it’s because I am wearing a darling new shape from Sophia Rossen. Her face is winsome and while I think her legs are little thin, it makes sense as she is a petite one. I am wearing one of the limited edition skins Luciayes Magic made for the Limited Bazaar over her shape, and it’s a testament to the skin and shape that they work together so well. I think it’s absolutely lovely, especially with those cherry red glossy lips. My hair is one of Chiaki Xue’s newest—good for a boy or a girl.

The Tux

The thing about a tuxedo is that it is virile and feminine at the same time. ~ Catherine Deneuve

Only in SL is the tuxedo required apparel for every man alive. In most places, the tuxedo is the domain of the privileged class or the penguins in the opera. It’s like we demand men be dashing when really all they want to wear is jeans. I don’t mind this one bit—if we dress them up here, certainly that can transfer to some real life formality?

The tux I have on is the mesh brainchild of Paul Lapointe. Not only did he convert his amazing system piece-and-prim tuxes to mesh but he includes with them a hud for choosing elements of the tuxedo. So when I put this sucker on, I had four choices for each of lapel style, pants color, tie texture and vest. I ended up with something a bit conservative, I grant you, but I wanted to show men it’s ok to wear a tux. You won’t look like a goof!

My shape comes courtesy of Gil Warwillow, who cooked this up for girly little me and who will be selling them in the future. I feature Reishiprophet’s handsome and sexy Zan skin. I had tried many shapes on with this skin and the skin fit over each amazingly well and retained its handsomeness without looking like a mask of sameness on each shape. That’s the mark of a great skin, in my opinion. My hair is a little top poof from Kavar Cleanslate which, along with my retro glasses from Laika SaintLouis, gives this almost a tinge of nostalgic Buddy Holly.

This is post 1000. I never thought I would get here, even at post 900. I was going to push, and I certainly did with the KittyCats posts and Barely’s help (I almost feel guilty but I did some large posts of my own recently). I remember I was so amazed at getting to post 500. And here I am, on such an auspicious day.

I wanted to wear something glamorous and fashionable, so I threw this together from elements I had to make a spectacular, albeit dark, holiday outfit. First there is this sexy little peplum mesh leather dress from Ivy Burner, who is the queen of sexy and little. I shrugged on a little jacket that LeeZu Baxter had made a couple months ago for a limited edition event, so don’t go looking for this one. And I slipped on gloves from Eshi Otawara, which I modified.

I modifed them to match the magenta booties from Onyx LeShelle. I wanted something chic and sculptural for this look, and these boots provided it, but not until I slipped on stockings with a back seam from Bax Coen was the look complete.

I am showing Sachi Vixen’s newest skin—Meghan. Sachi’s newest skins are so delectable, now with some of the brashness gone and some new glow and energy in the faces and bodies. Her faces are pure delight and beauty, with a variety of makeups and blessedly, eyebrow layers for matching to hair.

Caramel

Caramel was the best word that came to mind when I looked at this outfit. Caramel is so rich and warm and sweet and really, it’s an adult taste. Start out on this caramel treat with a top and skirt in brown and copper from Poulet Koenkamp and then accompany it with stockings from Bax Coen and new jewelry from AvaGardner Kungler (as seen at TDR Fusion). The sugar on top are Bax’s newest books—ankle boots with variable accents. I put these beauties on and was ready to stomp all over the grid, showing them off.

It’s the End of the World As We Know It

According to the Mayans, today is the last day. Ever. What are you going to do on your last day?  Face it, on the last day, are you going to be eating canned corn in your basement or out spending like mad and living it up like it’s 1999, except it’s really December 21, 2012? I know where I’ll be—at the End of the World Fair.

I checked it out and outfitted myself for such an inevitability. First this darling sexy mesh dress from Shaleene Kenin for a mere 50L first off and then grab the hat/helmet with goggles from Ezura Xue. Carefully run through the falling meteorites from Korgi Lerwick (as I set them up—particles that blow in different colors like the sky is falling).

World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed dummy with the rapture and the revered and the right, right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.

I dunno about you but I think a good drink is order on the last day of the world. Make sure you make your way to Maven Homes where Kaerri Rae has her furniture set up in Cain Maven’s End of the World house (which is pretty damn nice for a last day). I have this dining room set from Kaerri set up in a skybox from lilsaphira that has hellfire falling all around the edges.

Six o’clock – TV hour. Don’t get caught in foreign towers. Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn.

Some people will run around looking for wild sex on the last day. I will be happy with a kiss. This mistletoe hat from Sienna Rage may help. Or else this gorgeous skin from Eli Brandi, which is an exclusive for the End of the World. The skin comes in 5 tones with this great cateye and glossy lips. The body, which I peeked at, has a nice cleavage and hand drawn, bold features. My mesh hair, which fit perfectly under my hat (which is near impossible to find) is a lovely long cut from M4ri1yn Magic.

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide. Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs. Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.

It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
