A Movable Feast

A Movable Feast

If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast. ~ Ernest Hemingway

A Movable Feast

My secret desire? Owning an apartment in Paris. So let’s start with the apartment you see here, a beautiful skybox from Tobias Corvair, complete with Paris scenes out the windows. Not only can you gaze on the Eiffel Tower but also look across at other beautiful views of Paris. And if you have ever been to Paris, that’s all it is anywhere—beautiful views. The last time I was in Paris, I read Hemingway’s The Moveable Feast as I was touring the city. It’s a beautiful tribute to a time and place of exuberance and creativity. I can’t help but match his love for the city.

Furnishings come via Kaerri Rae. She has a great store full of what I would call “transitional” furnishings. She sees something she likes in RL, she makes it in SL to benefit us all. The living room and dining room sets come with all the pieces you see plus extras, so all you have to do is drop and play. You even get the place settings and lemons.

My Parisian home outfit is casual and inexpensive, amazingly. In Paris you can go the haute couture route but you can also hit the sales in July and January and score big. And somewhere, someone is making room in their closet for the new Chanel, so finding cute fashions inexpensively is really not so hard. I replicate this with a sale top from Darling Monday (sale’s over… sorry) and a super inexpensive skirt, one size only, from Ling Serenity. My extravagance is, of course, my beautiful new sandals from Nuria Augapfel and Claire Messenger, the newest offering from N-Core, which include clickable skin matching on a website.

Tuli Asturias is back, and her skin deserves a debut in Paris. I show the luminous new Helena here. Tuli is coming back to SL, slowing redoing her skins to match current standards, including lipstick options and new delights for all us Tuli fans. I will say that her skins have not lost their luster after her absence and still thrill me with their pretty features and great make up choices. Queue Marlowe is a hair-releasing fiend with much more on the way. These wavy flowing locks are elegant and beautiful, much like Paris.

In Paris they simply stared when I spoke to them in French; I never did succeed in making those idiots understand their own language. – Mark Twain
