Fleur de Cerisier

Fleur de Cerisier

I want
to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees.

~ Pablo Neruda

Fleur de Cerisier

I love Neruda, and I am not ashamed to say it, and I think the above line is one of the most beautiful lines in a love poem ever written. I was discussing poetry one night with a friend, and she said she didn’t get the metaphor. Turns out my friend has always lived in a place where the seasons are not very pronounced—whereas winter drags on endlessly for me, it’s kind of a blip of snowlessness for her. Summer can be hot and humid for me—for her it’s 10 degrees warmer.

Cherry blossoms are the harbinger of spring, the effusive burst of color and beauty, grace and delicacy after a long hard winter, an ephemeral reminder of the transience of joy. I remember a row of cherry trees on my college campus would bloom during the last weeks of the semester, a gorgeous greeting after spending hours in the lab working. Mathilde (Neruda’s beloved) was one lucky lady to have this man love her.

So it’s fortuitous to find this lovely cherry-blossomed theme dress from ValentinaEvangelista and espadrilles to match from Gospel Voom. With a lovely shape and beautiful textures, Valentina busts out the joy with her modern pattern paired with a retro but sexy silhouette. Gospel Voom has brought his new skin matching system to his old espadrilles, breathing new life into them.

My skin matches this breath of life from cherry blossoms. Abigail Bouevier, a creator unknown to me before, has presented a set of new skins that is lovely and elegant. Each skin set includes a variety of lipstick and eye makeup tattoos to enhance the look. The lips are full and gorgeous, the eyes evocative.

Ikon Innovia has released a new mini-line of eyes for the Boutique event (where my dress and shoes are also featured). Gorgeous colors, they will enhance your SL immensely and bring bloom to your face.
