Taming the Wild

I have been planning my in-world holiday party, which promises to be a fantastic fete. The theme is flamenco, so I have been trying on outfits. This one is a definite contender.

Elettra Gausman is a designer of elegance and theatricality. Her dresses belong on catwalks for beauty pageants as well as on red carpets. She especially seems to have a keen understanding of how to make the system skirt work, making it sexy and long. In this dress, she takes advantage of the stretch of the front of the skirt—a place that often “breaks” by making it slit up to there. But she breaks the unfortunate necessary roundness of the skirt by putting in a prim skirt at the knee, turning it into something elegant and graceful.

Then there’s the dangerous back, cut down to a very provocative end point. One pixel more and this would seem absurd but as it is, it is very sexy and sensuous. The texture glistens, especially at the waist and hemline. She hit on a great combo here.

Elettra includes a set of handmade pearls that drape down the back with this dress. They just didn’t work for me, so I chose to wear a set of black pearls from Alienbear Gupte. I especially like the earrings—the pearls are handsomely arranged and of a sheen and shape that conveys richness.

I am wearing a hair from Aemilia Case, who does an amazing number of versatile and cute hairs. This one I especially like because it is elegant and dressy with its side chignon and PERFECT for flamenco. I colored the originally pink hibiscus red to match the lipstick in Tuli Asturias’ skin.

Finally, the shoes. I show here a wonderful pair from Sissy Pessoa. I am not sure when Sissy sleeps—her store is chock full of new and wonderful content. She has a whole area of SHOES (which is a downfall for me). The shoes I show here are especially elegant with their sleek stiletto and sweet buckle.

I think it’s a tremendous amount of fun. Flamenco is about life and especially life, death and love — and your mother. ~ Mary Fishler

Sometimes a woman wants to go out and show her best side—put on her sexiest boots and dress, adorn herself with some glitzy jewelry, make-up, and her favorite perfume and go out and WOW the world.

It’s an easy thing to do when you’re wearing something from Antonia Marat, specifically this Zesty zebra dress. Yes, I know I blogged her earlier this week, but I can’t stop! This time let me tell you about her system pieces.. they are exquisite, especially the skirts. Worn with a skirt shape, her skirts are sexy as all get out. Antonia does great rockabilly but this dress could be worn for partying, being chic, and rocking the club.

I took on this silly pose to show you how the skirt looks stretched. Some system skirts look really bad when the legs pull them apart—not this one. You can barely tell. Ingenious!

I styled it with jewelry from Digit Darkes’ new Fall Collection. I really like this necklace because it lacks that slick symmetry that so many show. The textures literally glitter on the necklace and there is a handy color changer that switches it through six different colors. The bracelet is from Anuitka Barthelmess at kraftika, who has some fabulous stuff. You will see more of her jewelry here.

Boots are from Detour Sideways. I got the color changing set “fat pack” boot so I could get all the colors. These boots have turned out to be a staple in my wardrobe. I wear them more than I care to say. Enough that they have gotten all comfy and worn with use.

The skin is from Pulse, a very artistic turn from Lorac. She did a series of these Valeries that are beautifully drawn and full of character. These are not anime-style skins with perfect cartoon features; her skins show the beauty of real women. And this is a new flirty short hair I would love to have in real life, from Aska Watler.
