This is one of those mega blogs where I have so much goodness I don’t know where to start. First is the great song from Lianne LeHavas, which has great meaning for me. Then all this yumminess from Shiny Shabby, starting with a darling dress from xxsaltandpepperxx, which includes a texture change HUD with some great floral and eensy polka dots in au courant colors and styles. Paired with floral-patterned sandals from Nardya Rousselot, it is a perfect summer look. I top it with Diaxm’s gorgeous pansy headband and wear a terrific contemporary ring set from Kathya Szczepanski.

I furnished my scene with various pieces from Shiny Shabby. First I started with Siena Trevellion’s gorgeous leaning door, an ideal piece for any eclectic space. I leaned FadeArcade’s great ladder light on one side and his shelf on the other, which I decorated with vases of flowers from Kean Kelly. Kunst Himmel, who has a love affair with wine, I think, because he makes the most beautiful wine-focused collections, including the ones from his gacha that you see here. A gorgeous rug from FadeArcade’s gacha anchors it all. My poses are a set from Anne Dakun that include a notebook prop that has a texture-change HUD to make the perfect accessory.

Focus on that necklace I am wearing. Maxi Gossamer has learned how to translate her SL mesh designs to RL 3D technology and is able to produce her jewelry in RL. I am wearing Maximillion Grant’s versatile Alex mesh head with the accompanying expression sets. It’s so fun clicking around and finding new expressions and looks. I used Aleida Rhode’s omega applier for her Kate II skin at the Dressing Room (at a ridiculously low price for such a comprehensively complete set of appliers). The skin applied perfectly to the head and made a gorgeous look. Thora Charron just released new hair, and I love how this casual look tucks behind the ear and swirls around the shoulders.

In a few days, the EB Awareness Event starts. It’s a chance to tell people about Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare disease that affects 1 in 50,000 children born throughout the world as a result of a genetic disorder. It varies in severity among its sufferers. It is characterized by a defect between the anchoring of the skin between the epidermis (top layer of skin) and the dermis (second layer). People who suffer from EB suffer from skin fragility, blistering and constant pain. A group of designers and bloggers in SL are putting on the EB Awareness Event with proceeds going to DEBRA of America, a national research charity group dedicated to curing EB. Thanks to Cerise Emor for putting this event on. Cerise volunteers to help children with this condition in RL. Designers are all donating part of their sales proceeds.

Hannah Daviau is one such designer, a married mother of one in Denmark who makes fashions in SL from mesh templates, adding her own special touches. Hannah is donating 75% of all her sales to DEBRA of America to bring awareness about this condition. Her generous offer is much appreciated, and I am thrilled to show her gorgeous dress, shoes and necklace as a darling ensemble. Hannah is willing to share her blessings as an artist with this worthy cause and to support Cerise as well in her wonderful work. Please honor her by buying and wearing her great work.

I wrote about EB last year and am quoting it here if you want to hear a personal story about why I am glad to support this event:

I agreed to blog for the EB Awareness event because I knew a boy in my high school when I was growing up who had this devastating disease. Rolled from classroom to classroom in a wheelchair by a special education teacher, Adam was one of the best students in my Advanced Geometry class. His skin was friable and ruddy. His face looked raw and painfully exposed with scabs and irritations all over his face and head.  His hands and feet were stumps. He resembled an old man more than a child.

No one picked on Adam—that would have been too overt. He was simply invisible. He could not participate in regular school activities; he was rolled around between classes to avoid getting hurt by the boisterous physicality of high school kids. He was welcomed by us geeks in Advanced Geometry; we understood being invisible. When he participated in class—raised his hand or laughed with us—we were heartened. (He was really cute when he laughed.) That year in that class was solely remarkable to me for his presence.

I am sure Adam has died. His skin was very fragile; he was truly debilitated physically, though clearly not intellectually or emotionally. He was a normal boy in a body that failed to contain him due to a genetic anomaly that was no one’s fault. I am glad he got the opportunity to join us in that class and in high school. We were the better for having him in our company.

Sawsan Secretspy is offering this gorgeous skin at the Boho Culture Fair. I have to say, without fail when someone sees me in SL with one of her skins, they are blown away by how beautiful I look. There is something sexy and sensuous about her skins. Perhaps it’s the subtlety of the makeup colors or the beautiful eyes or the sexy blush. MissAllSunday Lemon’s lovely hair for the Sun Market, a little mini-event at Fallen Gods, is a gorgeous casual look with a wonderful braid as a hairband. Get it!

Mystic Realms Faire and Body Modification Expo both open today at noon. This should not be a huge problem for most because both fairs are open for a couple weeks, but you know it will become a huge thing trying to in. And frankly, I can see why. I got this darling little mesh dress from Cerberus Noel, which comes in four colorways, and it’s an ideal dress for a saucy wench or a spirited elf or a hunter. Paired with this intriguing and gorgeous necklace from XanXan Jervil and the awesome pirate boots from Jackal Ennui (which come rigged and unrigged so yes, Dorothy, you can adjust them to your Belleza body as I did), the look is fantastic and beguiling.

What is also beguiling at Mystic Realms Faire is the great furniture you can get for roleplay. Cherelle Capra is offering this amazing bookcase with all the books and a scale at super low prim count plus an amazing desk. Artizanmesh has made an incredible furniture set that includes in some pieces, single and couples poses. I was absolutely charmed by Tree of Life chair.

Seasons Story opened today too and Umazuma Metaluna has come out with a set of two fantastic skins for the event, both in fall colors. The coloring is warm with her typical beestung lips and provocative brows and eyes. My hair is Shylah Honey’s gorgeous look for the Body Modification Expo, a side-parted long ‘do with a beguiling wisp of hair across the face. I love this hair and think it could be worn over and over with many looks, especially with the great textures.

Kaerri Rae and Reven Rosca want you to enjoy your life in SL. They want you to enjoy the domesticity of SL and the fun of setting up house—over and over again. So they have set up shopping with some of the best home designers at Casa.

The premise is pretty simple: offer the best designers, demand all original work, avoid Walmart pricing and expect your clientele to enjoy the benefit of going to a sim and knowing everything they get is made from the pixel up with loving care.

Additionally, they intend to invite artists-in-residence to exhibit their art to further elevate the mood and the environment. For example, the artists-in-residence this month are Ohsoleomio Resident and Kayly Iali, both accomplished RL artists who have brought their work into SL. I could not resist taking my photo in front of this beautiful painting from Ohsoleomio, which I subsequently purchased for my own home.

They will also offer items exclusive to the Casa sim and limited edition items. For example, this fully furnished little house from Cain Maven and Kaerri Rae. It’s a study in living in a 512 X 512 parcel with beautiful design and charming, humorous elements scattered throughout. (Including a duck or two, per Cain’s on-going theme.)

I went over to the sim to take photos in this great new dress from Zaara Kohime that she is featuring at Uber. This is not my normal way of capturing Zaara but it works as well as her pieces can be worn around the grid and I always look fabulous. This maxi comes in several different colorways, including an ivory that would be perfect as a beach wedding dress (barefoot, flowers in the hair). Zaara combines the best of SL creation—great mesh work with beautiful textures and a fashionable, stylish vision.

I had to indulge in flowers in my hair and Diaxm is offering this hairband for The Dreaming Tree this round at half off. My hair is Mina Nakamura’s lovely offering for The Dressing Room Fusion, complete with a set of ombre shades. And my glorious skin is Shyla Diggs’ version for Uber. I am showing this one again… and again.

Summer doesn’t always have to be about tending your garden or sowing your vegetables or mowing the lawn. Sometimes it’s just good to lie down and take in the sunshine, enjoy the breeze and the flowers. I am doing that with some new outdoor furnishings. First a great cushion Sway Dench had made with several poses, perfect for a garden reverie. I love the sheer curtains and the whole idea of a place to just daydream.

Sway has also made some lovely garden benches in several colors (neutral or colors) that you could scatter about a garden or even a plaza, they are so nicely made. They include several unique poses—not just the boring sitting around kind.

I visited the Aloha Fair and got this great little dress from Antonia Millar that includes several different lovely summery floral textures on a texture-change HUD.  I ran to No21 and had to get this jewelry set from Diaxm. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous, all mesh, with great textures and design. We need more jewelry like this in SL!  My great little wedges are Eudora3D’s offering at Uber, with a great HUD that allows texture change on the metal, the two straps and the wedge itself. I loved playing with the different color combos and if you buy two or more color ways, you can mix and match the colors across the HUDs.

My chair and umbrella I found at the Aloha Fair as well. Myrrine made four lovely different chairs with an umbrella that has a texture change built in to match to any chair. Love the textures. Love the restful recline.

Kavar Cleanslate premiered this great side fishtail braid at Uber. He includes little starfish you can add to the style, but I wasn’t feeling the mermaid vibe this time. The hair looks terrific with this gorgeous skin from Inka Mexicola in one of her newer revamped shades.
