Once again MadPea Productions is coming out with an event that will solve the problem of “what am I going to do in SL this evening?” Opening August 21 at noon slt, the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior is another one of their terrific and beautiful events. Purchase their kit for 1000L and you get this fantastic outfit created by Datrip Blackbart and then you wander the Andes looking for treasure, kind of like Indiana Jones without the snakes. And of course, there is treasure at the end, when you receive the prizes from creators such as Sway Dench and Pucca Firecaster. As always, the play is incredibly creative and uses all the powers of SL for entertainment including the experiences features of SL, and the take-home content is from top notch creators. They are also selling Inca Golden Coins so you can get early access to the sims and not have to fight the lag (and Kiana Writer will be extra super nice to you too). I imagined my own adventurer to be a sort of wild beautiful woman, so I wore AvengeStore’s beautiful new applier for the Mesh Body Addicts Fair—a fair freckled mature skin perfectly suited for redheads or maybe brunettes. AvengeStore was smart in making an additional freckle tattoo for mesh bodies, which I was able to use to make a whole look. The pretty earrings I wear are one of the prizes, made by Natalee Oodles. Queue Marlowe’s new wild hair inspired me and I posed at one of the eight (!) sims of the Amazon River, created by YT Recreant. It’s another beautiful adventuring spot and open to non-RPers for exploration (though their RP seems pretty darn involved and interesting). Take a ride on the boat on the river and see the lush scenery.

In honor of spring, I went to the picturesque Black Kite sim to take today’s photos. Thalia Heckroth’s graceful gown creates the elegant column I wanted to create for my look, which centers around SinfulSky’s beautiful headpiece for MadPea Productions for the Gacha Garden. It’s the “Seed of Inspiration” piece for their collection and a most beautiful look for photographs. The only jewelry that could justify such a lovely piece is AvaKungler Gardner’s work, including a choker she features at her store and the lovely bracelet she made for this month’s We <3 RP.

AvengeStore is participating in the Buy Now event, which is taking place on Marketplace. Organized by a group of designers, it allows people to purchase exclusive items on Marketplace only. AvengeStore’s applier was made for a Logo head, presumably the Alex, but I chose to wear it on the Chloe. I actually tried it on all three heads and found it was gorgeous on every one of them, which is highly unusual for an applier (they all have such different shapes). Each one took on a different character wearing the skin, but I was most attracted to the freshness of the applier on the Chloe head and received several compliments as well. Mirja Mills’ gorgeous hair for Shiny Shabby was my natural choice for this look, lush and feminine. I was not happy about covering it with a headpiece at first but it was so ideal for this ensemble with tendrils framing the face, it was a perfect look for my primavera.

Love as a Weapon

Before we think the blog is titled some angsty thing, the song is really about using love as a good thing—as a weapon against darkness. That being said, I just like the song and the lyrics as I heard them had all sorts of goodness. More goodness is this sexy dress from Annie Melson for the Mesh Body Addicts event, a fitmesh for several mesh bodies, including the Maitreya Lara, slinky and sensuous and beautifully textured with a deep-cut decolletage. I accessorized with bracelets from Crashnoww from Shiny Shabby (round closing soon—get there) and high heels from AvengeStore, made of 100% original mesh and textures.

Serene Footman has turned his sim, Furillen on Love of Life, into Radiohead-land. I am all for this as Jonny Greenwood is on my secret list of future husbands (along with John Dickerson and Neil DeGrasse Tyson). For years I named my parcels things like “Everything in its Right Place” and thought I was an isolated weirdo in SL, so I am pleased to find out I am not the only one. He is streaming non-stop Radiohead on the sim (probably induced by everyone poking him with suggestions for songs, including my request for “Jigsaw Falling into Place”) and people are taking Radiohead-themed photos. Maybe I will get to take my own….

That being said, Skin Fair 2016 is still going on and still packed as far as I know. They promise to remove those crazy script things later in the Fair for those of you who find them onerous, so plan on getting over there later rather than never. Grabbing demos from the Pale Girl Productions Info Group will help your shopping as you can try them on at home without all the hassle. I am wearing AvengeStore’s applier for the Skin Fair, a gorgeous, sexy sophisticated look that makes the Catwa Jessica mesh head look great. I got my slave boy out (my male alt) and dressed him up for today’s photos because there were some great poses from Olaenka Chesnokov and Luna Jubilee and other things at ROMP I found, and I was loving my look. Start with this top from Annette Voight from ROMP, which I paired with a skirt from an outfit ValentinaEvangelista recently came out with and boots from Saki Galiazzo. Then I found these fishnet appliers from Bax to pull together the look. Mr. Alt has the sexy collar from Cheerno Destiny at ROMP and a harness that Baileymonster featured at ROMP a couple rounds ago and now has in her store. I think I made him into a right sexy pet.

My skin news for today is Dam1710’s applier for the Catwa Annie head, a beautiful east Asian look that went on beautifully and takes Catwa’s makeup options quite nicely. I was pleased with the look of the skin on the face and body and look forward to seeing more of David’s work. My hair is a short unisex cut from Dura that just topped this look perfectly and added a sexiness to my girl that went beyond bows and ringlets.

Future Tense

A lot of speculation happens in chat groups about who will be doing what and releasing, who is fixing and rereleasing, what LL is doing with SL. People are always anxious for the next thing, the upgrade, or they worrying about the changes and often complain about the now. My attitude is, I can’t do much about it. Best to enjoy what I have now—a great new skin, awesome sims to check out, no more hair up my butt when I tp, and 60 groups! (I need more!)

And today I have a future look, built around a few pieces that are being sold at Collabor88. First there is the great little bodysuit from erratic Rain, a mesh piece fit right to the Maitreya mesh body and available in several colors and translucencies. I love the see-through look and the fit. Then there are earrings from Zaara Kohime, fit to the standard avatar and a couple mesh heads so they can be rigged and move with the avatar body. With her always brilliant textures, they are a beautiful addition to this future look. I accessorized with a bracelet from AvengeStore that she is selling at OMGacha in several different colorways, ombre tights from BigBeautifulDoll, and hot little gogo boots from Maxi Gossamer.

Kavar Cleanslate is offering this funky wild ‘do at Collabor88 this month, and of course I could not resist going to one of his Wild Fusion textures to make my hair look awesome. Audrey Lamede is offering a set of great eyes at the The Men’s Dept this month so I ran over to get the fatpack. Doubtless I will be using them over and over. Lara Hurley has managed to transform the features of the Logo Alex mesh head in a way no one else has managed, reshaping the lips and the nose so they take on a new look altogether. I really love the features of the Logo Alex head like the expressions and now the Omega makeups but it’s very recognizable with some skins. This skin seems to breeze past that constraint. That’s skill! Lara includes some beautiful eye and lip makeups that apply separately (updated Omega). I am really loving this skin.

Brandy Old Fashioned

The brandy old fashioned, sweet, is my current cocktail of choice. It’s the unofficial drink of my state, a cocktail that so many people order here that bartenders can make them in their sleep. (And we’re talking a state that has 2.7 bars to grocery stores.) I am not much of a drinker, but I started liking this sweet cocktail ever since I had my first one a few years ago at a restaurant with an SL friend visiting town. I visited the Whiskey Bar at St. Pete’s in search of a brandy old fashioned last night (not a whiskey). I went out on the town wearing the group gift Thora Charron made for the holidays, a cozy mesh bolero that is no longer available (so I hope you grabbed it if you were in the group). My sexy dress is Culco’s exclusive for FROST, a very nicely fitted mesh dress with lace side panels and a lovely rose hem. Ors Quan’s very simple pearl necklace for Shiny Shabby and davidefre’s sexy high heels for Uber are my stylish accessories.

AvengeStore has come out with this beautiful applier for the Catwa mesh heads, and it looked absolutely alluring on the Jessica head. With a choice of brows, the skin has beautiful features and transcends the mesh shape (meaning I don’t instantly notice the mesh head shape but rather the beauty of the skin/face). I tinted the lips and added eyeliner with the Catwa hud native colors as well as using her hairbase. Kuranosuke Kamachi came out with this glamorous, old-school style at Uber, which is fantastic for any night out but especially for New Year’s Eve.
