I went over to MadPea’s game on the Firestorm sims, the Ghost Town, where you can use the SL
“experience” to enjoy a game with ghosts. I didn’t play the game (yet) because I was too busy admiring the scene set up. MadPea always seems to excel in making the best of SL by pulling out all the tricks in the bag without beating you over the head with it. Make sure on a night when you’re looking for something to do, you get over there.

I thought it would be a perfect backdrop for this casual outfit from Beanster Potato that she is selling at the Hipster Fair. It comes with the sweater and tank, jeans and shoes and she includes jewelry but I wore Plurabelle Laszlo’s awesome necklace for the Jewelry & Accessory expo. A fringed purse from Plurabelle Laszlo for the same Expo echoes the fringes.

Sachi Vixen, the grand dame of SL skins, is offering this and another skin at Skin Fair this year. She includes appliers for Slink and Maitreya bodies, eye makeup, lipsticks, blush, freckles, liner, and lots of love. If you are a woman who has not converted to mesh heads or you like to take a breather, these skins are bound to make you look great! Bubbles Clawtooth is offering this wonderful style at the Arcade. It includes a separate mesh piece with HUD that allows you to have the scalp-revealing part. I might be the prettiest girl on the wrong side of town!

I took a stroll around the charming residential neighborhoods of Hesperia of Templemore and enjoyed the brisk air and sunshine on the sim (despite no scripts on the sim–grr). A soft slouchy sweater from Hilly Haalan with a gorgeous knit lace motif (I have knit something like this) with a big scarf and sexy leather mini make an outfit that’s stroll-worthy. Hilly includes a HUD that allows 12 colors on texture for the scarf, 10 for the fringe, 12 for the sweater and as a bonus, a 12 color-choice skirt, all in one. Thigh-high boots from Beanster Potato complete my ensemble.

Monyka Benelli has come out with darling earring sets at The Dressing Room: separate small earrings that you can position into place to complete a look. I used four earrings on my ears and with a little painstaking placement, achieved a multiple piercing look I can live with. Kuranosuke Kamachi has put this lush, almost vintage pageboy in the main store, and Sawsan Secretspy has created another gorgeous applier for the Catwa mesh head. It comes with several eye make ups and lipsticks and suits the Annie head perfectly.

If you use the Firestorm client, you would have to be blind not to see that it’s the fifth anniversary of the client, quite an auspicious occasion when Jessica Lyon spun the Phoenix viewer off from the original upstart Emerald viewer and then it morphed into the Firestorm viewer. Jessica has managed to imbue the project with kindness, helpfulness, and innovation with her calm and kind leadership.

Once again, the KittyCatS have made a commemorative kitten given out for free that has all the bells and whistles of the regulars ones, including breedability. Click this little darling and you can wear it on your shoulder, hold it in your arms, or cuddle with it. I ran down and picked one up, taking her along for the ride on my Haya 2015 from Turlaccor Mode. I had been noticing awesome photos by Darkley Aeon of these bikes on Flickr and so I got the chance to blog one myself (and will be showing more). Rideable and fun, the bikes also include many poses, effects and of course, exquisitely crafted details, as you can see here. Turlaccor is clearly a motorbike aficionado, with an eye for sexy speed. (All the poses you see me on the bike are unaltered poses included with the bike.)

Of course, I had to look the part and the first item that came to mind were Bax Coen’s smokin’ hot newly redone thigh high boots, which fit perfectly to the Maitreya mesh body. With materials, the metallic books in black are wickedly sexy, especially paired with mesh short shorts from Beanster Potato and a leather vest from Paul Lapointe and Bastchild Lotus. Paul and Bast also offer a great motorcycle helmet with all sorts of texture options, which I donned as I took my kitten for a ride. (Safety first, right?) My skin is sawsan Secretspy’s newest for the Designer Showcase, a lovely sexy look that comes complete with all sorts of mesh body appliers.

The MadPea Productions Art Gacha opened yesterday, and I have to say, if you want some fun or beautiful pieces for décor or gifting, this is the place to go. One of my favorite artists is participating—Garvie Garzo—and if you like whimsical pieces that add a touch of though or fun to your space, hers are the best. I chose three pieces to show from her set, which are very much her style. The sign flashes on and off (but not with in world light) and has that great neon sound. I would highly recommend you check them all out as they are fun and inexpensive.

Beanster Potato was one of the first designers I went to way back when when I wanted a complete and cool outfit. She did sweaters with skirts and then tights and a little bracelet and maybe cute boots—she thought it all out but made her pieces separate enough you could wear them with other things. With the advent of mesh, beanster has not stopped but continues in this great tradition with her SLX Outfits. This set I am wearing comes with everything—top, jeans, hip belt and jewelry, even pumps though I opted for my own shoes. They fit and look fabulous and come at a terrific price. Bonus is the texture change HUD she packs with the top so you can have a number of looks out of this package. I chose KenadeeCole’s feathered sandals, also with a texture-change HUD for the feathers, to make this look a bit more casual.

Kuranosuke Kamachi is cranking out hair and I have to say, it’s all luscious and long with great textures. Included is a pretty comprehensive texture-change HUD so you can find just the tone you like. I am wearing the Alex mesh head from Maximillion Grant and this time I opted not to fool around with the expressions. This head can be more than that—you can actually walk around wearing and enjoying it (and who walks around with their tongue hanging out besides my dog?). It’s a great shape for Sawsan Secretspy’s lovely skin for the Mesh Body Addicts fair, a skin that comes with several makeup options. I popped in Eleri Catlyn’s mesh eyes and adjusted them to size for the head.

Finally, my seat is a collaboration between Wavie Haller and Tegin Serin for the LTD round. I walked around and was amazed by the offerings at that particular event. There were some lovely pieces for decorating, especially this chair, which comes with a ton of poses and great textures for the pillow and blanket, all scripted in for your decorating and redecorating pleasure. One thing I really like about Wavie is that he is willing to collaborate with many designers and groups and seems to do so with ease. That’s a particular difficulty with many creators in SL and RL too. To work and seamlessly combine efforts is sometimes impossible, but he seems to make it happen again and again. That’s real.

I liked this song by Kings of Leon and thought it suited this casual look perfectly. Paul Lapointe and BastChild Lotus recently came out with a short leather jacket that has optional camisole or tank and is typical of L&B, the HUD includes color change for everything, with a bonus set of laces that overlay the camisole so you can have a silk camisole or this lace in black or white. For one small price, it’s a very versatile look with many color choices. I explored them all while I was trying to match to the necklace from Maxi Gossamer for Fameshed, and aligned colors to match Maxi’s color combos. Finally Beanster Potato’s darling high-waisted mesh jeans also come with several choices so I could find this darker denim.

Inka Mexicola has released this skin set in its entirety at her store. With several brow options, appliers for nearly everything you need (I used the Matreya Lara mesh body appliers here), and beautifully rendered features (omg those lips!), it’s a unique, beautiful skin for a fresh look. My wavy hair is Mina Nakamura’s beautiful almost windblown look for the Fameshed third anniversary.

I love this Neil Young song and I love my cinnamon girl. Start with this slinky sexy dress from Beanster Potato (which can be switched to a number of colors using her color change HUD, so don’t think you’re limited to this flavor). Add pumps, also from Beanster, and some gorgeous jewelry from AvaGardner Kungler, and of course a darling handbag from Miffyhoi Rosca for this round of Shiny Shabby, and you have a hot mama, nearly burning through the rugs from Kunst Himmel’s gacha for Shiny Shabby. (More rugs! Yay!)

The heat of this look comes from Shantia Soulstar’s gorgeous and soulful skin for Skin Fair. It comes with Slink and Omega appliers plus a few others. I spent a frustrating half hour trying to get it to work with the Love n Lust translators on one body (it was not coloring the neck fix.. bleah) so I switched to the Belleza mesh body and Slink hands and feet, and that worked quite well except the nipples, which don’t quite line up but who cares since I am dressed. The Omega is still hit and miss but well, still a deal at the price. I used the makeups available with the skin to create this smoking look and pretty nail appliers from Giela Delpaso.

Shylah Honey is on a roll with hair lately, and she is offering this sexy and beautiful style at the Fantasy Collective this round. With a lock of hair winding back up, it’s a different and new look in a standard silhouette.  My pretty ring is from Anthony77777 Bandit, who has captured the glistening qualities of windlight to make rings that glitter without scripts or bling.

I subscribe to A.Word.A.Day, and this week they are featuring light poetry words. One of the words was “clerihew.”

PRONUNCIATION:

(KLER-uh-hyoo)

MEANING:

noun: A humorous, pseudo-biographical verse of four lines of uneven length, with the rhyming scheme AABB, and the first line containing the name of the subject.

Of course, I had to take my turn at it, which you see above.

I satisfied my fashionista instinct this blog post with a darling little dress from Beanster Potato that comes with her fantastic texture-change HUD that allows different top colors, all for one low price. My shoes from Kim Lysette have the same fantastic option as does my necklace from Bastchild Lotus. Even my little lunchbox from Moonbubble Gothly’s gacha at Luck of the Irish has a HUD! (And I show several versions on this blog for kicks.)

Shylah Honey made waves on waves for the new Liaison Collaborative, the theme of which is Bon Voyage. I think she was trying to channel Rose with the casual elegance of these locks. (The back is just as pretty with waves tumbling down.)

Skin Fair is going on and Systi Cisse is offering two skins, one of which is this one that I wear without a mesh body but with Slink hands and feet. The face itself has a very clean gentle palette so I played with the lipstick and eyeshadow included with the skin, having a bit of fun in the process and created a lovely look, especially with Soleil Reid’s eyes from The Men’s Dept.

I really liked the chairs Tobias Convair has at The Liaison Collaborative, so I built a whole outfit around one. Tobias, whose main goal in life is to bring classical modernism and architecture to SL, has given another  The animation engine can be a bit wonky but the poses are original and different. I certainly appreciated the initial female sit, which shows a woman with a casual and sexy power. Rowr.

My dress from Beanster Potato is a sophisticated choice for this look. She includes a HUD that allows color change for both the top and bottom. I was a little surprised by the materials included in the mesh when I put it on ultra mode but it’s not too bad. The textures are terrific, though, and the dress is sexy in shape and style. I was able to wear Rebel Hope’s sexy sandals with the outfit (thank you, Callie) and one of AvaGardner Kungler’s newest pieces, based on elvin inspiration.

Shyla Diggs has further expanded her collection of skins with a set of beautiful looks for The Liaison Collaborative. Grab this group and the one at Uber and you get a full set. A short-as-can-be mini dress,and I am hoping to have a party! This great strappy leather dress with a wonderful tie up the back comes from Beanster Potato, a lot of mesh goodness in a very small package. And as always, Beanster includes a texture change HUD for five looks. I matched it up with the heels Glamistry offered for 21 Shoe. You can’t get these colors anymore but you can get this sexy platform shoe at his store. My unicorn horn from Maxi Gossamer for this month’s Collabor88 is my favorite piece of luck.

Shylah Honey made this fabulous hair for the Fantasy Collective and with its literally flowing locks, it is perfect for mermaids but also for a girl who is going out and wants a little fun in her look, especially with dyed ends. Sawsan Secretspy has made this gorgeous skin for the Designers Circle. I put it on and the dewy skin, the soft and glossy lips, the exquisite eyes—they begged me to take them out to party. I did!

Melancholy—KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, Day 14

I have been spending some time wandering around SL by myself and rather enjoying it. There is something in me that needs time alone, and when I can view the beautiful creations in SL, I am often content. It seems melancholy but is a pensiveness that is sometimes suitable during a busy season. Barnesworth Anubis’ new gazebo that he is selling at Collabor88 is a perfect place for solitary contemplation.

And I am contemplating yesterday’s opening of Frost because it’s bound to be packed with goodies you want for a warm winter. This darling outfit from Lisanna Lauria is sure to please with a system top in several jewel tones that also comes with appliers and pretty skirts with sparkle.
