I walked out to the beach to find that it looked like a flock of lovebirds had taken nest in my palm trees. Oh wait. They purred and I realized they were KittyCats perched in my palms. KittyCatS recent release of LoveBirdS include a removable beak and crest and come with brightly colored feathers, made for Valentine’s Day but perfect to brighten up your spring after a long winter. Each KittyCat includes a special animation in them, where they will rez you a blanket and special poses so you can enjoy them with a friend.

I enjoyed the warm air in an outfit made of separates from the first anniversary Shiny Shabby. My top from evastika Aura is fitted for Maitreya bodies matched to denim shorts from Systi Cisse, also for Maitreya bodies. Cute bowed flats from Darling Monday come in several colors. A cute little diamond-studded watch from Bob for Shiny Shabby includes a HUD to change various parts of the watch.

Carina Larsen has made this cute and casual ponytail for Shiny Shabby with her great texture-change options. I am wearing Monicuzza Babenco’s gorgeous new applier for Shiny Shabby on the Catwa Annie mesh head in a warm tan. I found my palms at the RFL Home & Garden Expo from Cari McKeenan, who got them out late. The donation from purchase of the trees will go directly to ACS.

I was bumbling around the grid shopping (as I am wont to do), looking for new things, checking out my list of places to check out, when I stumbled across a shop that was chock full of goodies at a great price. (You have to love a great price.) So I bought up the store.

One of my goodies was this terrific catsuit. Clearly Aurora Vuissent has been working on her system pieces because the zipper runs straight through the top to the bottom with nary a seam or a wrinkle. The back is cut open (with clean edges.. I love clean edges) to a surprise peek-a-boo, making the whole silhouette ultra chic and stylish. Aurora has included a sculpty collar with a clever zipper tab and cuffs for the arms and legs. I can’t bear to tell the price because it looks a lot more expensive. (Let’s put it this way—nothing in her shop is over 300L and most are 25-50L. Every day is Friday there!)

I styled it with this very mysterious bob from Lamb Bellic. When you want something more fashionable, a little different and well made, !lamb is the place to go. She has been getting a lot of traction from the 50L Fridays, and it’s well deserved. Her place is one of the few that are a must-hit.

Finally this beautiful skin from Minnu Palen. I chose this particular one because the eye shadow was so evocative. I had seen it done this way in photos of real life catwalks and love it on this pale skin with the very muted pink lip.

Black and White

You know, you always wish it could be, but it’s not…

I am showing LeeZu Baxter’s newest dress, the Lily, in black and white, in an untouched photo (shot just like this in SL). The dress shows LeeZu’s definite attempt to push the edges all the time, to try new things, be innovative with her design. She scores on the top, which has a wide boatneck with three-quarter length sleeves and a high sash. The skirt is a mix of sculpty and flexi, bordering on the disastrous but she pulls it out of the danger zone with great translucent flexis and a cool texture that shades it.

I have had this very cool skin by Mochi Milena in inventory for a while and have found the ideal use for it. It’s really for an artistic look, a startling different representation. Even walking around in the stark colors of SL, this skin made me look very different, as if in a different story or time. It’s quite beautiful, especially with its faint blush.

Finally cute little flats from Fallingwater Cellardoor. This sweet dress shouldn’t have heels or fancy boots. Simple flats is where it’s at.

Rose Garden

Somehow, some way, the snow missed me. (I live near a very large body of water—I can only imagine it was that.) My not very distant neighbors (less than 10 miles away) got pummeled and snow blowers are running all over the Midwest right now. And we’re looking forward to the frigid cold coming our way.

It’s times like this it’s best to disappear into a fantasy and mine is a fantasy of a beautiful kimono, fresh with roses, wondrously layered with frills and laces, butterflies floating around. The folds of the robe (with a cleverly constructed sculpty) combined with the gathered bow in the back is a sort of virtual origami of colors and textures. This absolutely gorgeous kimono from chichuro Martinek cures the snowbound blues and brings a bit of sunshine to a gray day.

I styled it with a simply beautiful new skin from Tuli Asturius’ For Your Lips Only line. With its subtly colored lip and bare but beautiful eyes, its freshness perfectly matches this glorious kimono. I topped it with a sweet bob from BettiePage Voyager. Its flat color (this is one of her earlier pieces) might seem a bit cartoony for this ensemble but somehow it works (the simplicity of the cut).
