Out of This World

Once in a while I like to leave my studio where I am usually squirreled away, packing and unpacking prims, reviewing outfits, sorting through notecards, and gazing lovingly at my hundreds—nay, thousands!—of pairs of shoes. I become an intrepid explorer, clicking happily away on landmarks and flying around the grid.

Out of This World

So I was pretty amazed when I arrived at Heaven 4D Ultra Dome. There were a lot of rotating glowing things, which seems the order of the day when there is some sort of spectacle going on. It was like a big amusement part in some post-apocalyptic abandoned city. Terrace Orman makes an incredible, otherworldly sim with grungy cartoon textures. And the few things she has on sale follow that style.

Out of This World

Take for example this Cyber Vampire suit with the tentacles that fly all over the place (high numbers on the flexis—they really could hurt someone). Could we mix more genres here? We have the tentacles from hentai and some electronic stuff and uh.. some stuff that looks alien. Not sure where the vampire comes in, but it sure looks cool. And it comes with many options—most of them a bit more sexual than I am willing to show here. (This is a family blog here, folks.)

Out of This World

It even comes with these kick butt boots. Now, I highly doubt I will ever wear any of these components on their own. Heck, not sure WHEN I will wear this whole outfit, but it feels good to have something otherworldly in my inventory. I mean, when we come here, we want to be able to stretch our minds and ideas a little. Grab the adventure ;)

All About Business

Lately I have been getting a lot of requests for business looks in SL, especially since Amanda Linden wrote a blog about business appearance.

It’s not impossible to put together a business look here, especially if you get yourself outside the box of black suit and skirt. I am personally tired of that—that’s for lawyers and very uptight librarians. A professional woman can be found in a tailored sweater and skirt with a stylish scarf, as I show here.

All About Business

Betty Doyle has come out with a set of “Vintage Basics,” but I consider them regular basics. The system skirt has a great texture and shape (though for some reason, this one made my rear end look large so I “dieted” a little and shrunk my otherwise perfectly useful skinny skirt shape). And the sweater, with its ideally proportioned knit texture and wonderful sculpty shapes, has enough style to look beyond ordinary but is not outrageous.

All About Business

I accessorized with Tiffy Vella’s beautiful Wistaria set. She has done some absolutely exquisite work with jewelry in SL, combining killer skills in tiny prim building with gorgeous textures. This set comes with this beautiful scarf, earrings, and a ring. (It also has a necklace and bracelets you don’t see here.) And finally I pull out the classic Verve pumps from Onyx LeShelle.

I wear here a skin I custom made at Body Politik. Maximillion Grant and his partner Polly Pavlova didn’t make it for me–I made it myself on their handy dandy website, and I blogged about this wonderful idea. I received news today that they are now letting you customize in-world as well at their “Skin Creation Stations.” So get down to their store in-world—you may catch me there putting another one together.
