Plus Je T’embrasse

My friend just got back from a week plus in Paris. It was a wonderful visit, a chance to wander around one of his favorite cities, revisit his French, and enjoy the colors and cuisines. At one point, he told me, he looked at the cost of flats in Paris. He really wanted to stay. I understand that feeling. I had done the same the last time I was there.

He pointed out to me that two young ladies who helped him with some work he was doing there were typically Parisian—they wore their clothes with a casual elegance that only Parisian girls manage. I hope I get a measure of that elegance with this look. Start with a coat from Erratic Rain, beautifully rendered in 100% original mesh with a great texture change hud for the buttons and sleeves and available in 10 colors.

I switched the sleeves to white so I could wear it with this darling asymmetric skirt from Areve, who is having a sale at her new location. This skirt comes in 5 colors on a handy HUD and in you can get four different versions. I happened to pick up several things.

Plus Je T’embrasse

Terrie Dreadlow is also having a sale in honor of her 6th rez day and I got these darling t-straps meant for Slink feet but also fit Belleza mesh body feet with minor adjustment. The shoes have a great color change HUD and are also modifiable (so I could darken the red to match). At 66L, these shoes were a STEAL.

Umazuma Metaluna has released the bare Hazel skins and I gladly donned one with a great lipstick from Zxxrysa Magic, free in the Dirty Turkey Hunt. Long wavy locks from Ms. Queue Marlowe give the final touch.

Buenos Aires Hair

Buenos Aires Hair

I named this after the beautiful capital of Argentina because this hair reminds me of the gorgeous women of that cosmopolitan city. (Also because I am running out of rhymes, but really, the hair is gorgeous.) Gia Pawpad has switched up her brand name and moved to mesh with a great texture change HUD that allows for such lovely color looks as these.

Buenos Aires Hair

Upswept or worn down, the hairstyles are lovely and fit well (as you can see over this gorgeous sweater dress from Poulet Koenkamp which includes its own texture-change HUD with what seem a million options but are really only something like 27).

Buenos Aires Hair

Wear your hair back or up to show earrings like these from AvaGardner Kungler or wear it down to reveal the gorgeous ombre textures. Gia is offering all four of these styles at Hair Fair with part of each sale going to Wigs for Kids. Make yourself beautiful while doing something beautiful.

Hair Without a Care

Hair Without a Care

OK, let’s be straight up honest here. The reason we love hair in SL is because really, it’s so easy to have. No washing, no irons, no stinky dyes, no perms. Just a few clicks and we have transformed our look with a new hair. Mina Nakamura makes this especially easy with her featured hair for Hair Fair this year. She made two long casual girl looks—one with bangs and one with hair tucked winsomely behind the ear. (I have to say that one is just so “real” for a young woman’s look.)

Hair Without a Care

She also offers a men’s look, and guys, stop complaining there are no hairs out there for you. This one I have seen on many men in real life. Mina includes a great shaved realistic hairbase with it. And as always, all her hairs come with her great texture-change HUD so you don’t have to mess around with hair colors (or dye).

No Scare Hair

No Scare Hair

If you look at Mirja Mill’s hair for Hair Fair this year, you might think she was one fierce chick. The truth is Mirja’s a pussycat who makes ferocious fantasy hair. Mirja is rolling out the feral and fiery for Hair Fair this year.

No Scare Hair

I can’t help but think Mirja had a bit of fun with these. She went back to her fantasy roots with these pieces, combining her great imagination for styles with her exquisite jewelry work. If you get one of these styles, you get that extra bonus of jewels and horns.

No Scare Hair

But don’t limit yourself to thinking that they are simply for RP: many can be worn without so they would be wonderful on their own as simple hair pieces. I especially like the two long styles with braids and sensuous locks curling down the back. Imagine these in another color not on a drow, and they are suddenly very romantic and sexy.

No Scare Hair

Mirja’s ‘dos all come with a great texture-change HUD with several options in both regular and “fade” combos. Additionally, the jewels have color change options, so you can customize your look to the nth degree.

Let me give a quick note about this absolutely stunning drow skin that Inka Mexicola is offering in a gacha at Kustom 9. Get it. Seriously.

No Scare Hair

I want to note that Mirja is always amazingly generous for charity festivals such as this one. She co-sponsored a sim for Fashion for Life and set up a gorgeous store. For Hair Fair she has created these five exquisite pieces, kicking 50% to Wigs for Kids. She is also offering the Medusa style with a texture-change HUD as a visitors’ gift. That’s beyond amazing. She is definitely a sweetheart, regardless of her wild and untamed locks. No Scare Hair

Find a Chair Hair

Find a Chair Hair

Last year when I blogged Hair Fair, I did a series of blogs with silly titles that had words that rhymed with “hair.” I, of course, used up all the good titles so this year the titles will be sillier. (Thank goodness for a rhyming dictionary.)

Find a Chair Hair

I called this “find a chair” hair because I think someone is going to have to sit down seeing some of these photos. Long sexy locks or short wavy full hair, Ikira Frimon has made some gorgeous hair for Hair Fair. The hair includes a great texture change HUD that also allows you to switch it up with any attached accessories.

Find a Chair Hair

One of the best things about Hair Fair is being able to discover the work of designers you have not seen before. In this case, I had not had the pleasure of seeing Ikira Frimon’s work or heard of her brand Ayashi, but I have been delighted with her hair. I think this pale blonde is especially captivating.

Like a Star

Like A Star

Just like a star across my sky
Just like an angel off the page
You have appeared to my life
Feel like I’ll never be the same
Just like a song in my heart
Just like oil on my hands
Only to love you.

Still I wonder why it is
I don’t argue like this
With anyone but you
We do it all the time
Blowing out my mind

~ “Like A Star” by Corinne Bailey Rae

Like A Star

I feel like I am getting back to business in SL now that SL11B is nearly over. My exhibit will be taken down tomorrow, I will be done with the posts for that site, and I will be going back to focus on my blog and the others I manage. And I can go out dancing!

I heard this song while I was getting ready to shoot this song and it’s perfect for a slow dance, I think. This new dress from June Dion is definitely an elegant choice for taking out and about. With several mesh options included, this dress is versatile in the several ways you can swap out looks. And it’s got a great shape with a great back end and materials baked in. It comes complete with the jewelry I show (because all Bare Rose outfits are “complete”) and shoes, however I paired shoes from Senzati0n Domenitzo with the look because I love their sexy elegance.

Like A Star

My skin is one of Inka Mexicola’s newest in her revamped line. I have to say I just love the intensity of the eyes, the fullness of the brows and the sexy glossy lips. The face is not merely pretty. It has character and a beauty that is unique, especially with stormy eyes from Isabelle Requiem. Add one of the new hairs from Truth Hawks, a romantic look with hair pulled back and curls tumbling down the back, and it’s a beautiful look.

Like A Star

You’ve got this look I can’t describe
You make me feel like I’m alive
When everything else is a fade
Without a doubt you’re on my side

Donna di Mondo

Donna di Mondo

“Everything you see I owe to spaghetti.” ~ Sophia Loren

Donna di Mondo

My travel budget is kind of slim this year so I am relying on travel within SL to sate my needs. Addy Hax and several others from her community built a lovely little parcel based on their pretty sim in SL. You get a taste of little Italy right at SL11B (which still has the sims open). And what a taste it is!

Which brings me to Italian women. How do they manage to eat all that pasta and still stay so chic and lovely? I think it’s the lifestyle—the cobblestone streets, the pretty views, the refreshing air. (Yes, I realize this is a very imaginary Italy but I think the attitude of enjoying life, of seeing beauty, of feeling the invigoration of living is certainly an Italian way of being.)

I decided to go chic with one of GraceHaddington’s newest designs, which she is soon to release to the public for her summer line. On July 5 and 6, LivGlam is hosting a fashion show at which the entire collection will be released. Grace is terrifically excited, and I can’t blame her. This piece, with translucent top and skirt, has Grace’s signature luscious prints and her inimitable style. I can only imagine a dress this chic in Italy.

Donna di Mondo

I accessorized with Erratic Rain’s new slingbacks for Summerfest. Erratic does her own mesh and she’s painstakingly meticulous about it, so when you get a pair of her shoes, it’s like buying handmade Italian shoes in Milan. Every single pixel is perfect. She offers these in a variety of classic summer colors and prints. Abraxxa Anatine’s dangling semi-precious stone earrings with a texture-change HUD allowed me to find the perfect look to match.

Shyla Diggs’ makeup for her latest skins at the Liaison Collaborative is lovely—deep and sensuous and as usual, we see Tricky Boucher’s great work on this lovely skin. My hair is a twisty ponytail from Shylah Honey from the Manga Fair, a great look for a manga style, I am guessing, with its corkscrew shape, but also chic enough for this look with wispy bangs pulled to the side.

Fashion for Life doesn’t just have modern dress, you can also find romantic pieces. That’s the thing with FFL—all designers willing to make the donation to have a store are accepted. This way, it’s a group effort by anyone willing to give to Relay for Life and American Cancer Society without exclusivity. So a beautiful old-fashioned dress like this one, which has been made by Bodza Mubble. She has combined a great mesh corset with system pieces and flexi to create this lovely look for fantasy or role play. I gamboled about in the parks at FFL Voyage, enjoying Jara Lowell’s lovely build.

Dappled

My skin is Aida Ewing’s new gorgeous work for Collabor88 with lovely brows, expressive eyes and of course, the gorgeous lips she always has. My hair is Mirja Mills’ contribution for Fashion for Life, which is a great piece for casual wear or RP, and it works great with the pretty headdress from Bodza that comes with the dress.

I want to note that Mirja is a sim sponsor for FFL with a huge donation, and she filled a ridiculous number of RFL vendors with her hair without a peep of complaint or confusion, each one kicking back a portion to RFL. She has always been enthusiastic and supportive of Fashion for Life, and for this, I am so grateful personally. I have If nothing else, buy a hair from her at Fashion for Life because her stuff is awesome and so is she!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Leaving on a Jet Plane

So kiss me and smile for me,
tell me that you’ll wait for me,
hold me like you’ll never let me go.

~ “Leaving on a Jet Plane” by John Denver

Leaving on a Jet Plane

The sims at Fashion for Life are all about travel, so of course some of the designers jumped in. Nancoix Urquan chipped in to the theme with a set of poses complete with a suitcase prop that has texture change. Of course, everyone is taking photos on Troy Vogel’s sim with this set because it’s so perfect. Troy built the sim despite a personal RL move, and I love him and his bears to pieces for his generous contribution to Fashion for Life.

Sysy Chapman has always been a big supporter of Fashion for Life as well, and she is offering this great dress in several version with a portion of each sale going to Relay for Life/American Cancer Society. With her great bright textures and sexy silhouettes, she makes my travelling girl look fresh and sexy. With little espadrilles from Freya Olivieri and jewelry from JuneMonteiro and Moonsoul, I have Fashion for Life covered.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Don’t you hate the women who come off the plane looking fresh and rested, not a crumple in their clothes, not harried or tired? That would not be me. I would be the one posing on the tarmac and missing my connection regardless of how great I look. My skin from Inka Mexicola gives me that tan traveled look with a high-fashion makeup for glamorous traveling. Add this great feathered hair from Alice Demonia, which she is offering at the Thrift Shop, half off (in price, not style) with a great HUD for texture changes. I’ll catch the next flight out.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

‘Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane,
don’t know when I’ll be back again.
Oh, babe, I hate to go

Everything Must Go

Everything Must Go!

Everything must go on every floor
Markdowns you’ve never seen before
Everything that isn’t bolted down is up on the block and open for offer
We need to travel light on this journey
And we won’t need all these things where we’re going

~ “Everything Must Go” by BNLX

Everything Must Go!

Fashion for Life is on and EVERYTHING MUST GO! Get down there NOW for great fashions and skins and jewelry and shoes and hair! Not sure the hard sell is going to work but let me try a little soft sell with this gorgeous outfit from Dainie Fraina. I have been a too-secret fan of Dainie’s—I really love her clothing, which is tinged with African and in this case, Indian influences. Her HUD is easy to use for texture change on this outfit and allows separate changes to the top, skirt and hair flower. I love the beat of the djemba every time a change is made. A portion of every sale is donated to Relay for Life.

Freya Olivieri is one of the sim sponsors and she has always been a strong supporter of Fashion for Life. She is offering several pieces with 50% donation to the American Cancer Society on top of her generous donation to be a sim sponsor. The gorgeous earrings I wear are just the tip of the iceberg as far as the beautiful pieces Freya is offering, and her pieces are top notch, from the design of the mesh to the textures to interface and scripts.

Everything Must Go!

I wimped out and put on one of my favorite newer skins, Ria, from Shyla Diggs. I just dig Shyla’s makeups and the way it fits my shape. Belleza skins never seem to go out of style. My hair is Queue Marlowe’s very newest, a flexi ponytail on a mesh head piece. And of course, it comes with Queue’s handy texture change HUD and great textures!
