More KittyCatS Advent Calendar Gifts!

There are more and more gifts coming out of the KittyCatS Advent Calendar that wow me. What an amazing gift of creativeness and generosity we are receiving this year from these creators! Thank you so much!

First is this darling gift from Cherelle Capra of Circa for Day 11, a gorgeous holiday fireplace with decor and pillows. The cushions have 11 animations each, different in each, and marshmallow roasting sticks. The fireplace has on/off on touch.

Izara Zuta of 7 Deadly Skins provides the gift for Day 12, a gorgeous Omega applier fashioned on LAQ but can be worn on other heads like Logo and Catwa. In three tones, the set includes appliers for Tango, Phatazz and Slink hands and feet.

Day 13 brings us a whole set of fun from Rebel Hope for Rebel Hope Designs including mesh boots in red with green garters, a green knit dress with a red belt and a variety of ornamented kitty ears. What a perfect festive combo. I am seated at the gift for Day 14, a candy cane speckled bistro set from Victor Newchurch of Newchurch. Each chair includes a variety of poses for men and women and texture change cushions.

Day 15 brings two gifts! Belle Roussel of Chop Zuey has crafted this gorgeous jewelry set for girls who want to glisten with a thousand stars.

And architect Cain Maven of Maven Homes and Quantum Luxury Homes gives us this elegant sideboard and bowl of oranges (which has found a perfect spot in my home).

Inka Mexicola of Essences generously provides the gift for Day 16, this luscious skin for Catwa and Omega system heads.

Queue Marlowe of Analog Dog offers this beautiful hair for Day 17, a style beautiful in several shades with HUDs, including both flexi and mesh with her characteristic curls and waves.

Barnesworth Anubis gives us one of the gifts for Day 18, a classic garden folly that can display your tree or be used in your summer garden.

And the upstoppable and ever-romantic duo of Paul Lapointe and Bastchild Lotus for Lapointe & Bastchild bring us this great unisex dogtag with their brilliant texture change hud.

Day 19 brings two amazing gifts as well. Garvie Garzo of meadowWorks has given us this amazing sculpture based on Oscar Wilde’s The Happy Prince.  The sweetest feature is a low script bluebird who flutters about happily and sings a little song.

Carina Larsen of Amacci has provided this absolutely darling hair with a HUD for changing the colors of the hair and rose.

And for Day 20, Mami Jewell of Azul gives us this amazing dress in black and purple in mesh with flexis for your holiday parties. Mami has again outdone herself with her gorgeous textures.

ChloeElectra, the fabulous lady behind .alme, gives us this beautiful nail polish set in various silver looks (perfect to match just about everything you might wear this season) for Day 22.

RFL Home & Garden is still going on. I got a chance to walk around after folks had set up. I indiscriminately bought things in vendors to make sure donations went to RFL—you should too. In fact, maybe you should get the scripted clock and bamboo from McChris Flanagan’s retro set, a modernist furniture grouping that reminds me of my parents’ first living room set and stereophonic sound system (in hifi, not wifi). With color change built into the menus so you can change the insets to yellow, orange or bright green and some rather humorous accessories (like that vinyl record from The Lindens and the 8-track player), the set is a virtual testament to kitsch. I added Cain Maven’s retrofuture hanging lamp and Elin Egoyan’s bright and beautiful painting to my living room and I was set.

I wearing Poulet Koenkamp’s lovely skirt and top set for the Instruments this round with her gorgeous textures. Shoes from Saki Galiazzo include a very versatile HUD for color change on different parts of the shoe and fit the Maitreya feet perfectly. I love the skin applier Monicuzza Babenco made for the LeLutka mesh heads, especially the blonde choices because they are so nicely done. My hair from Tabata Jewell for the Hairology event includes a panel in the HUD that lets you change the hair tie.

My Big Closet

The RFL Home & Garden Expo opened today across 10 sims—the biggest shopping thing going on in SL right now with 100% donations from two exclusive and new items from each participant going to Relay for Life benefitting the American Cancer Society plus more.

I nearly squealed when I saw Ria Bazar’s pieces for RFL H&G: closets. OMG! She gets me! Available in modular pieces, the closet can be rezzed as a row as shown here or broken up into modules to fit your space. Ria kindly makes them mod so I went through and colored the textures of the individual clothes and shrunk it all up a bit to fit in my space. The tufted large stool is part of the set and includes poses for men and women and couples and a texture change menu.

Said space is the skybox that Akahata is offering as one of her RFL donation pieces. With a grungy interior, it’s a perfect loft space with windows that let in light and look out over a cityscape she has placed outside. The sliding doors in the middle can be opened and closed to create distinct spaces.

I feature several of the donation and gacha items from RFL H&G as my décor: gold gacha items from Piraiyah Novikov, gacha rugs from Corvus Szpiegel, a modern floor light with on and off switches and enhanced lighting from Cain Maven as well as his wood dining room chair, a darling neon sign from Rosemaery Lorefield, an Arts and Crafts inspired ceiling lamp from my brother from another mother, Troy Vogel, and the cutest ever silly light from Persey Garcia.

Thrift Shop is still on with everything at the place half off (in price, not your body though I did see some rather sexy items). This lovely dress from StellaJane includes a texture HUD with a ton of colors and she offers it in four different versions for a criminally low price. I paired Maxi Gossamer’s beautiful set for Collabor88 with the look and Senzati0n Domenitzo’s cute heels for Flower Power.

Umazuma Metaluna has created another gorgeous applier for the Catwa mesh head with a pretty freckled face. I paired Neveah Niu’s pretty long hair with the look, using her pretty ombre HUD set to color my look.

Mi Casa Su Casa

Kaerri Rae and Reven Rosca want you to enjoy your life in SL. They want you to enjoy the domesticity of SL and the fun of setting up house—over and over again. So they have set up shopping with some of the best home designers at Casa.

The premise is pretty simple: offer the best designers, demand all original work, avoid Walmart pricing and expect your clientele to enjoy the benefit of going to a sim and knowing everything they get is made from the pixel up with loving care.

Additionally, they intend to invite artists-in-residence to exhibit their art to further elevate the mood and the environment. For example, the artists-in-residence this month are Ohsoleomio Resident and Kayly Iali, both accomplished RL artists who have brought their work into SL. I could not resist taking my photo in front of this beautiful painting from Ohsoleomio, which I subsequently purchased for my own home.

They will also offer items exclusive to the Casa sim and limited edition items. For example, this fully furnished little house from Cain Maven and Kaerri Rae. It’s a study in living in a 512 X 512 parcel with beautiful design and charming, humorous elements scattered throughout. (Including a duck or two, per Cain’s on-going theme.)

I went over to the sim to take photos in this great new dress from Zaara Kohime that she is featuring at Uber. This is not my normal way of capturing Zaara but it works as well as her pieces can be worn around the grid and I always look fabulous. This maxi comes in several different colorways, including an ivory that would be perfect as a beach wedding dress (barefoot, flowers in the hair). Zaara combines the best of SL creation—great mesh work with beautiful textures and a fashionable, stylish vision.

I had to indulge in flowers in my hair and Diaxm is offering this hairband for The Dreaming Tree this round at half off. My hair is Mina Nakamura’s lovely offering for The Dressing Room Fusion, complete with a set of ombre shades. And my glorious skin is Shyla Diggs’ version for Uber. I am showing this one again… and again.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

For the past couple weeks I have been working hard on things in my RL home—specifically we are redoing the family room in anticipation of four different holiday parties this year. The carpet needed replacing. I had had it with the horrible wallpaper. And we needed some new shelving. The house is a mess because we have displaced everything to get to the walls and floor. But it’s starting to come into focus, slowly but surely. (Check back with me after the carpet is installed!)

Such a project is not so hard in SL, blessedly, especially when you get a beautiful, fully-furnished house like Cain Maven’s latest redo on his Eco design. The Eco III furnished includes a dining room, living room and bedroom set (with some adult poses), art on the walls and decorative plants. Just rez and go.

If you’re feeling like it, you can add your own touches, like this chair from Cory Edo, which is being sold at Collabor88 in a kazillion colors or Lilly Juno’s mid century modern chair (shown below) that includes several gorgeous poses. Lilly is back in SL if you were a fan of Immerse, selling both furniture and clothing.

Spooky Mistwallow has opened a new store called “Mirage” which includes pieces that are influenced by Persian and Arabic arts. Her recent dress, which I am wearing, cleverly uses a Persian rug design with lace added to it. The ladies from N-Core—Nuria Augapfel and Claire Messenger—are featuring drop dead gorgeous sling backs at FaMESHed in over a dozen colors. These are classics, made to go with several looks, and they match beautifully using N-Core’s web-based color matching system.

I <3 Maxi Gossamer’s jewelry, especially this intricate clockwork heart that Maxi is featuring at Collabor88. The lacey nail appliers from Sasy Scarborough accent the heart ring from Maxi. The full and lush, almost bouffant blonde style from Tabata Jewell suits Aida Ewing’s newest skin, Elvi, in tone and fashionality. And Audrey Lamede’s gorgeous hazel eyes complete the look.

House Beautiful

I was poking around at Maven Homes and I got an IM from Cain Maven asking if I was looking for a new home. I was actually admiring his Vita home. With 2 bedrooms, a bath, dining room and kitchen, living room and bar, and a huge pool and modern design, it’s a breathtaking residence. I admitted to him I was salivating over the Vita when he invited me to see the furnishings he was finishing for the home, which are soon to be sold as an alternative with the home for an upcharge.

I couldn’t pass up a tour, of course. I was familiar with the house and wanted to see Cain’s interpretation of the interiors. Assisted by his partner Kaerri Rae, Cain chose Danish modern to suit the lines of the house. In the living room, for example, is this fine sofa, rug, coffee table and sunburst mirror. The colors are warm and homey, despite the almost austere lines of the modern furniture. This is due, in no doubt, to Kaerri’s considerable output as to design and colors.

The front bedroom includes a beautiful bed for two, art, side tables, and plenty of room for your own customization. All the furniture is mesh, so the addition of these pieces will be low-impact. You can get the house with the furniture and hardly feel the difference in your prim count with plenty of room to add your own touches.

The bathroom is, as before, outfitted with shower, tub and vanity but now it includes additional touches like soap in a dish, cosmetics, a towel rack, and this “fish on a stick,” as Cain called it. I prefer to think of it is a Chihuly knock off made from blown glass.

The master bedroom, which features the stunning curved bank of windows as showing in my first photo, includes a bed with poses, night stands, floor cushions, glassware, console, vases, wall clock, lamp, and a TV that includes a browser so you can shop for Cain’s other items on Marketplace right from the comfort of your home.

The dining room features a full set of place settings placed on this beautiful period set of furniture with a sacher torte from Austria (supposedly—I think Cain kind of makes stuff up). Kaerri will eventually be selling the individual furniture pieces in her store but until then, they will only come available with the house.

Let me give brief nod to my look. Mesh not only makes this house look fab but makes me look amazing as well. AvaGardner Kungler’s newest dress helped me make the tour more fashionable with a necklace from Noah Bodenhall and one of Kavar Cleanslate’s newest hairs, which is working with a lot of my outfits lately.
