Sweetness

I liked this quote because it reminded me that carrying a grudge is easy. Forgiving and remembering goodness isn’t as easy. I try hard to remember the creators who send me items to review without expectation–their gifts of talent are one of the sweetnesses in my SL.

Something’s so sweet about a easy dress in the middle of the summer, something stylish and fashionable but not too tight or fussy and this dress from Marcopol Oh from Shiny Shabby fits the bill. Fit to the Maitreya body, It includes a little sexiness on the side. I paired it with a great necklace from Ors Quan for Shiny Shabby and high heels from Senzati0n Domenitzo.

GenesisLab has created this gorgeous mesh head for Shiny Shabby this month. I love that I am able to wear system eyes and don’t have to mess around with mesh eyes to wear it, I was also able edit my shape with the head stretch to change the look of the face. It did require some editing in the eye depth, and I had to mess with the lashes.

Especially sweet as well is when a creator donates a portion of their income from the creation of an item for a charity or someone’s need. Carina Larsen is donating a portion of her sales from the sale of her gorgeous hair at Hair Fair 2016 to Wigs for Kids. She includes this full, pulled back look with optional bangs.

She also offers an elegant updo with optional bang styles.

A very full-bodied, long style with a side part makes me look a little Jackie O. And she is offering duo-colored pigtails as a gift for those attending Hair Fair.

Spring is coming so I don’t think it’s entirely unbelievable that I would want to walk out into my garden in my dainties, especially when they are as beautiful as the lingerie Erratic Rain makes. She has released this gorgeous robe for Uber which can be worn open, as I show it, or closed via the HUD. In colors that match her lingerie perfectly (here I wear a bra and panties set she previously made), it’s a beautiful gift for the lady in your life or yourself. Senzati0n Domenitzo recently released these classic pumps in her store and has made available a set of spring colors. I found my garden perfect with Cory Edo’s collection for Uber, a small ivy-covered house with surrounding garden, complete with lighted trees, stone pavers and a beautifully textured terrain. She includes some beautifully-conceived garden furniture for sale as well, including this peacock bench.

The Se7en Project opens in a couple days and it includes some new and old designers. I am kind of interested to see what the mix will be, especially after pulling out this lovely hair bow from Frangipani Flow that comes with a HUD to manage the color of the bow and the individual blossoms. Shyla Diggs has made a new applier for the Catwa heads, this gorgeous look for spring which she is featuring at Uber. As always, her artistry and delicate hand with makeups comes through on the skins. Carina Larsen’s beautiful updo is an elegant top to this beautiful spring look.

Love Birds

I walked out to the beach to find that it looked like a flock of lovebirds had taken nest in my palm trees. Oh wait. They purred and I realized they were KittyCats perched in my palms. KittyCatS recent release of LoveBirdS include a removable beak and crest and come with brightly colored feathers, made for Valentine’s Day but perfect to brighten up your spring after a long winter. Each KittyCat includes a special animation in them, where they will rez you a blanket and special poses so you can enjoy them with a friend.

I enjoyed the warm air in an outfit made of separates from the first anniversary Shiny Shabby. My top from evastika Aura is fitted for Maitreya bodies matched to denim shorts from Systi Cisse, also for Maitreya bodies. Cute bowed flats from Darling Monday come in several colors. A cute little diamond-studded watch from Bob for Shiny Shabby includes a HUD to change various parts of the watch.

Carina Larsen has made this cute and casual ponytail for Shiny Shabby with her great texture-change options. I am wearing Monicuzza Babenco’s gorgeous new applier for Shiny Shabby on the Catwa Annie mesh head in a warm tan. I found my palms at the RFL Home & Garden Expo from Cari McKeenan, who got them out late. The donation from purchase of the trees will go directly to ACS.

It seems all there is for sims lately are winter scenes and all I see outside is a winter scene. It was brutally cold today, so I put on a sweater in RL and found this very cozy one that Kitt Ragu is releasing at Shiny Shabby (opening the 20th). Made for both men and women, the sweater comes in several colors with an underlying shirt if you would like it. I forewent that version and put on a little scarf I found in my inventory from xxRyvenxx and found great little low-cost boots from Senzati0n Domenitzo at The Dressing Room. My jeans were released by Paul Lapointe a bit ago but work so well with the Maitreya body and so many different looks. They come with a brilliant texture change HUD allow different jean colors, pockets and belt and metal colors, though I went with the standard classic color and look.

OK, I admit I stole the hat from Karla Marama’s hair at Hairology. I will find a way to show the actual hair but it conflicted with the sweater, so I opted for Carina Larsen’s hair for the upcoming Shiny Shabby instead. It’s a cute short cut with fringy bangs and a lot of personality. I have once again opted to try an Omega applier on the GA:EG Adriana head, this time putting on Aida Ewing’s skin applier, which she made for the Logo heads but is on an Omega applier so can be used on this head too. I have tested a few Logo appliers and the skin makers, of course, want to have the skin suit the face shape, so when the skin is put on this shape, it can look measurably different and sometimes quite “off.” Aida’s skin looked pretty good and when I applied the add-on makeups, I think the result was quite nice, especially with Aida’s pretty freckles.

We’re almost there—the end of the gifts in the KittyCats & Friends Advent Calendar. Catwa Clip just released new versions of the Jessica and Annie heads. Make sure you go to the store and get them from the redelivery HUD. I was having all sorts of problems applying makeup and found that the updates solved all my issues. Nicole Button has created this gorgeous new skin with lipsticks and eyeshadows on separate HUDs. Her eyeshadows are rich and deep while her lipsticks are a bit flat and better worn using the fader in the Catwa HUD to decrease their intensity.

Rare–KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, Day 1

Today opens the first door to the KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, a project I have been working on with my partner, Callie Cline, for my fourth year. Many of the designers are personally KittyCats owners but they were asked to make a gift that anyone could enjoy—not necessarily about KittyCats or cats. Sands Leavitt made this fabulous suit for women to fit several mesh bodies for the androgynous theme for Uber this month, tapping into the idea of the beautiful rarity of the confidently androgyne. With an optional turtleneck “dickie” you can purchase to wear, the suit can serve as formalwear for humans of any and all genders. As usual, Sands lends his professional experience in modeling and texturing to this suit, which is sexy in the best ways. I paired it with Maxi Gossamer’s gorgeous necklace for Uber and stiletto heels from Claire Messenger and Nura Augapfel to up the fierce in my look. A bag from Harry Hyx takes us out for business. And I picked up some great poses from Di Hoorenbeek at Gen Neutral, where you can find great stuff every month.

What makes my beautiful soul a “rare” as well is my beauty’s green and blue eyes, the set part of the gift by Carina Larsen for the first day of the KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar. She gives two sets of eyes—one blue and one green—and since they are mesh, I can mix them up, so I did! My hair is the unisex style Carina has created in a wintery, snowy tint, great for a handsome Arctic warrior or our beautiful androgyne. Shyla Diggs’ beautiful new skin for Uber includes chest layers to make the ‘dehance” the breasts. I wore it with the Belleza Isis body, however, so that option is not available on appliers. I did, however, reduce my breast size with my sliders.

My silver girl took a walk around the charming, albeit small, neighborhood around The Sable Club to take photos yesterday. I had discovered that the Renaissance woman, Thalia Heckroth, had opened a store on Marketplace with some beautiful mesh pieces, and I was absolutely thrilled to find this beautiful mesh dress, made of fitted mesh, among her offerings. Thalia, who has excelled at everything she has done in SL, from owning an RP sim to dabbling in real estate to making machinima and doing photography is now a designer and brings her sophisticated aesthetic and approach to her pieces. She has just started—there are only five pieces available right now, but each is classic couture, well rigged and beautifully textured. I paired with this outfit the set Mea Carnell is selling at On9 this month, a lovely grouping of necklace, bracelet and ring, and I am sporting Glamistry’s newest, t-strap platform sandals.

Catwa Clip’s mesh head, Jessica, has sent a flurry of designers making appliers, and Sawsan Secretspy, who is the goddess of quick-make appliers, has made a lovely set with several eye makeup and lipstick choices. (And don’t let me diminish what Sawsan does by saying she’s quick. The wide variety of systems and mesh shapes for the bodies and heads is enough to make any designer go nuts—she handles it all seemingly without effort.) Her skin is delicate and graceful on this head—very classic, especially with the beautifully drawn brows. Carina Larsen has recently released a ton of hair styles for women and one for men and this up-do is in keeping with her style—simple, beautiful and feminine.

Amacci for Hair Fair 2015

Yet more hair!

One of the reasons I look forward to Hair Fair every year is because I get to see work by creators I don’t always encounter in my regular SL. Some are doing other things like clothing or jewelry or skins normally and make hair mostly for Hair Fair because hair is not their primary creation.

Carina Larsen is one of those. While she does hair, she also does a bunch of other great content, so hair is simply not her main line, but gosh, when she does hair, she does it beautifully. She is donating a portion of sales from FIVE hairs at Hair Fair this year and each one of them is gorgeous. With two updos, two ponytails (one that is an add on for a hairbase) and one sexy long hair, you are bound to find something (or some things) that will make you happy. She includes a great texture change HUD with some fabulous textures. And her styles are classics—wearable, usable and lovely.

Carina’s lovely styles combine perfectly with Nena Janus’ sublime applier for the LeLutka heads. It’s not a shape Nena has employed before (wider set eyes, poutier lips) but she was up to the task of making them look fabulous with her great skins.

My lingerie, which you can see very little of, is a new little set from Mariska Simons, which includes appliers for every meh body you can think of and variations of the bra/panties/garters/stockings combo.

Honey Bear Hair

The styles Carina Larsen is offering at Hair Fair made me think of a honey bear because of their charming textures and styles.

Carina does include a men’s hair, which I wear myself, trying to make it as cute as the others. But for women there are three styles, one a generous gift!

My Siberian irises are going to bloom one day soon, I hope. I see the abundance of leaves coming out of the ground. When they arrive, it’s as if Monet visited the side of my house. This dress from Spooky Mistwallow that she is featuring at Fashionart, with its lovely abstract flower print and elegant long shape, reminded me of those irises. Spooky does use mesh templates, but she does more than just throw a texture on. She understands the silhouette of the mesh and includes artistic touches such as flower at the shoulder and this long flexi translucent scarf with a gorgeous texture to turn the dress from simply cute to gorgeously sexy.

I spent a fair amount of time finding shoes to go with the dress and discovered Freya Olivieri’s lovely sandals for Slink feet that include a texture change HUD to manage the bow, inner and outer soles and the heel. It was a perfect match!

Inka Mexicola has lately been giving us tender, expressive skins that include beautifully shaped brows, eyes and lips. I love the coloring on this skin that is being sold at The Dressing Room Fusion (which means it’s a ridiculously low price). I was so delighted to match the orchids in Carina Larsen’s new up do with the eye make-up in the skin and the flowers on Spooky’s dress. That bright blue and lavender combo is gorgeous and reminds me of the beautiful irises soon to come.
