The 100 Block opens today and as you might expect from this event, there’s a lot of sexy seeded in with the regular fashions. Actually, most of it is sexy, especially this corset and stocking outfit from Mariska Simons, one of the exclusives she is offering. With a mesh corset that cinches the waist just right and stockings and panties that can be worn as system pieces or as I do applied to the Cute Azz, it’s a versatile outfit. (Also comes with boob appliers.) I accessorized with cuffs from Muka Release that come with a great texture change HUD that allows a combo of colors across three elements of the cuff. There are also ankle cuffs, but I decided to forego those to wear these crazy-high mules from Antonia Millar which also come with a texture-change HUD.

Sawsan Secretspy is offering two exclusive skins at the 100 Block this year. With sensuous shading and sexy makeup, the skins come with appliers for everything (as you can see by my beautiful behind) and is offered in several makeups. Nova Faerye has made three hairstyles for the event with four different texture change HUDs, including this fantastic Chromatic hud. I spent a lot of time today clicking around to explore the options of all these pieces to get the right amount of heat and sexy in the look. The 100 Block opens today with lots to see and runs through the end of the month.

I’m feeling a bit wanton these days, imagining spring coming. Datrip Blackbart sent over a collection of body-conscious clothes, and I had to burst out in color and curves to enjoy his fine texture work. He has issued two sets of clothes, one being this catsuit with breast and ass appliers. Click click away and I am sheathed in a tight orange suit, laced up the back, with bodaciousness front and back. I purposefully accessorized with Ariadne Garrigus’ exclusive sunglasses for The Feeling so you were NOT looking at my eyes. Dangerously high platform heels from Nuria Augapfel and Claire Messenger make my legs impossibly long and of course I have enhanced with breasts from Riann Maltese and athletic legs from CK Winx.

I had to show Shyla Boucher’s Arcade skin again with the lip gloss she sends along with it. It’s the sexiest skin for a look like this, especially with that subtle gloss. Truth Hawks just released this sensuous, wind tossed hair. He is getting better with mesh, the individual strands breaking free to curl and curve around. And my sexiest poses are always the ones from Rogan Diesel.

Today it’s all about the ass.. well the new “Cute Azz” from CK Winx. This is the follow-up to the very popular Phat Azz that has proliferated across the grid, amazing some and well frankly, disgusting others. The Cute Azz is meant to be a toned down and improved version of the original and in this respect, it is. The derriere is smaller and the legs are more shapely and proportionate. It’s definitely not nearly as outrageous.

So I ran out and got it—I couldn’t help myself this time. It really is silly to be mod of a skin group without knowing some of the products people ask about, and well, I was curious after seeing some photos. The photos you see here compare my Harper shape as I customarily wear it against wearing the Cute Azz. I will note that to make the mesh look better on me, I did lower my body fat and belly to 0 as suggested, both of which are above 0 on Harper’s shape. I also increased the hip width and length slightly to make the mesh piece look more proportionate on me.

(Let me interject here with a big hint to all you fashionistas out there: rigged mesh pieces can be made to look better on you when you fiddle with your shape. For the Azz, it responded to changes in hip width and length. For Slink hands, I STRONGLY encourage you all to increase your hand size to 30 or 40 because your regular hands will look like T-Rex hands when you wear the mesh. Do not be so attached to the numbers that you end up looking freakish—they are sliders with arbitrary numbers, not a remark on your own personal value.)

That being said, I found the Cute Azz with the thicker thighs to indeed have an appealing curve on the fronts and backs of the thighs and the calves. I didn’t care for the skinnier legs on the regular one.

What really put me off, again, was that ridiculous thigh gap, which I first saw in a pair of Maitreya pants, and which shows up on both Azzes. Though it’s a RL fashion, it’s been written down by such august fashion institutions as Cosmopolitan because it puts ridiculous body image ideals on women. It’s really got to stop—most women don’t look like this and most of us don’t want to. Additionally, the gap causes the ass itself to have a funny peak to it which you can see in the photos comparing my system shape to the mesh butt. It’s really odd and not in line with how a truly luscious lady’s butt looks.

I believe it’s possibly a function of how mesh works on our avatars—I see lots of gaps under arms, between legs, etc. It’s a really unfortunate result. I challenge CK Winx to get rid of that gap on her next revision.

I concluded, after trying it out, that I can live with Harper’s regular shape for most purposes. I can see the appeal of the thicker thigh piece for certain shots that would accentuate the legs but it’s such a minor difference, I can’t see the point.

Let me give a rundown on the fashion here. I saw this outfit from Amberchaudry Corpur that included a Phat Azz applier at the Designer Circle and thought it would be ideal for a sexy look. I dressed it up with a  hip chain from Maxi Gossamer that I love and which includes sizing on all axes, so you can make it hang just right. Boots from Syntella Rhapsody fit my bootiliciousness and Aida Ewing has included appliers for everything with her new skin at the Season’s Story, where this great hair style from MissAllSunday Lemon is also being offered (and great to get if you can swim through the lag).

So this is what happens when some upstart blogger IMs you and gets all sweet and nice and funny. She lets you steal witty things from her profile. She dishes with you about her partner. Then, she sneaks up and asks to take your photo because of a blogger challenge. She asks you to look like yourself (whatever that is anymore, I am not sure). And then she takes your photo and you look like a billion bucks (see below).

Rainey Manx, authoress of No Rainey Days, IM’d me and flattered me with her request to take my photo to answer Harlow Heslop’s question about what blogger inspires her. I was thrilled because Rainey’s work is incredible—she puts beauty into every piece she does (and I am incredibly envious because my PS and art skills stink). I was putty in her hands.

Did we intend to dress to match? Nope. But that’s how similar we are in aesthetic–it all seemed to work. I can only talk about what I threw on; Rainey’s babeitude speaks for itself (and she has more at her blog). I started with a minidress and scarf from Trill Zapatero, who tempted me with several things at her store. I love the funky look of her things, their casual sexy hippy dippy coolness. All proceeds from sales at her store go to help Afghan women, so it appeals to my charitable side as well.

My hair is my namesake from my someday partner Queue Marlowe (whenever Callie dumps me). Queue made the hair and then I sent a photo of RL Harper and we agreed—it matches. My skin, like Rainey’s, comes from Nena Janus’ beautiful mind.

Most importantly, our eyes come from a man we both hold dear to our heart—Ikon Innovia. I would like to think I am the reason they are together but I am guessing it’s more because of his devastating charm and her incredible wit and spirit. It seems Ikon lucked out. So did I in making a new friend :)

… but keep the old. One is silver and the other’s gold.
