“So fellows, please listen to me:
Don’t look at a wallflower askance;
If a girl sitting lonely you see,
Just bow, smile and beg for a dance.”

I can’t say I am often a wallflower. I don’t go out dancing that often any more (which is a sort of wallflowerishness, I guess.) This dress might catch someone’s eye. Made by Mimikri Kit, it is an example of what she excels at—provocative textures and shapes that are beyond the ordinary. The win is in the details—the seams that match up, the clean edges of the system pieces, the shape of each feather in the skirt, the excellent texture. Short skirts with flexi abound in SL. Most of them are not this stylish or wearable.

My skin is Kira Ahn’s offering for The Dressing Room Blue, which comes with several lipstick options on the tattoo layer. I love being able to choose my lipstick, and certainly this particular skin would afford eye makeup choices too. The face was a little over-dodged–not sure what happened there.

My choker is a sale item from Felicity Winslet’s closing sale at Mariposa. I recently had discovered Felicity’s work, had it in queue to blog, and then caught wind that she was closing shop. It’s a true shame because Felicity’s work is exquisite—this necklace is the least of it (and it’s gorgeous). Get down there as soon as possible to treat yourself to some beautiful gems. (She’s really nice too—handled a customer service thing for me wonderfully.)

I woke up this morning with a smile on my face. The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, I had been up having a very exciting conversation about a new project, and someone served me breakfast in bed. Is the world or my life perfect? No way. But if I sit here and list all the bad things I could think of, I could be stuck here for a long time and make myself feel bad, and what good is that?

So I put on a warm sweater, this one from Emma Gilmour, complete with retro brooch that I found in my mother’s jewelry box (and you think I’m kidding—this looks just like one my mom has). I pulled on tights from LeeZu Baxter (cozy warm) and a flirty skirt from the set that Sissy Pessoa is offering at the Dressing Room Blue this week. Slipped my feet into boots from Cerberus Noel and tied the happy bows, and I am all set.

Wait.. there’s my hair. I’ll just tie a gray ribbon in my pretty hair from Elikapeka Tiramisu (and if Elika coming back to SL is not enough to make a person happy, I don’t know what is). My skin is a beautiful fresh offering from the queen of glow, Mallory Cowen. Don’t I look happy?
