Special Occasion—KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, Day 7

With all the snow-covered sims and sleighs and jingle bells, it’s hard to remember that a majority of the world does not celebrate a white Christmas, especially if you’re from the cold and wintery North as I am. Truth is, most enjoy their holiday with sunshine outside and the doors open or the AC on.

Somnia Snowpaw’s beautiful gift for the KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar is a reminder that some girls go to holiday parties in pretty dresses that are not velvet but cool cotton and in this case, open in the back. I love this dress template and Somnia has done something very special with it with this dress. Having a floral pattern on the skirt with a beautifully shaded top, it’s a gorgeous gift.

My shoes are Eudora 3D’s latest for Uber and a gorgeous pair with a texture change HUD with the lovely paisley pattern in black, brown or white on a texture-change HUD. It’s a perfect match for this lovely dress.

A darling Beatles tune is what I found for this darling look from the latest events. First a top from crisshoney Violet, a simple draped top with cherry blossom stems for the Boho Culture Fair. Then pants for men or women from Nix Marabana that she is offering in several colors at Genre. My great wedged sandals are Eudora3D’s featured item at the Vintage & Cool Fair (with texture change HUD for almost every detail you can think of). And my necklace is a lovely feature from Hannah Daviau, 75% of which goes to proceeds for the EB Awareness Event.

Ikira Frimon is offering this great sexy long ‘do with bangs and an extensive texture change HUD at Body Modification Expo. And Ms. Shyla Diggs has created an exquisite set of new skins being offered at her store. I put together this true blue outfit because I just loved all the elements and wanted to wear something that made me feel good. Start with this open-necked chambray blouse from Julliette Westerberg, who has a fine grasp of mesh rigging and clothing with great textures and fashion. Add my favorite jeans from Paul Lapointe that come with a texture-change HUD for the jeans and the belt. I ran over to Jewelry Fair and found that RealEvil was there with some fabulous mesh jewelry. The necklace I show has texture change for the metal and all three layers of feathers, so it’s versatile and really nicely made.

I brought out this gorgeous skin from Inka Mexicola again. Gosh it’s beautiful. I LOVE the eye makeup, especially with this whole look. (The next blog I am going to be showing Inka’s skin with the Belleza body. Think it won’t work? It does!) My gorgeous ponytail is one of Truth Hawks’ newer ‘dos. I am true to blue, true blue.

When Callie told me they were going to be making a special KittyCatS kitty this year for the Firestorm 4th Birthday, I was really excited. Last year Firestorm gave away a commemorative KittyCat also to any and all of SL who wanted one to celebrate 3 years!  This year, a new collectible “FireBall” KittyCat is offered grid wide for everyone to join in the 4th year Firestorm celebration.

This FireBall is functional and interactive!  You can cuddle it, play with it and interact with it as you would any regular KittyCat EXCEPT you don’t have to feed it (it comes as a Perma-Pet™). It’s also been spayed/fixed for you (meaning you can’t breed with this KittyCat).  So this is not a mesh statue cat; it’s a cute little pet you can carry, have walk with you, have sleep in your home, cuddle with you next to the fire and so much more! The birthday hat and collar are removable through their clever menu, so you can dress the KittyCat up or down.

Callie shared a large statue version with me to give you all a sneak peek and the regular sized cat. She also showed me the little FireBall bed made by Barnesworth Anubis that is included, so your KittyCat has a place to rest.

As an aside let’s congratulate Jessica Lyon and her team for taking on a monumental task these past four years. Needless to say, the SL community is not exactly the cheeriest bunch and the Firestorm people keep feeding us improvements for a great SL experience without charging us a penny. Give them a hand! Or a paw!

Sometimes I need to break out the leather and the piercings and just get a little punk. I had all this good stuff around and I put it together and boom! Start with the great jacket/shirt combo from Tatyana Ultsch. This absolutely awesome jacket comes with a HUD that allows tons of variations (stripes on or off, different belt looks, dozens of t-shirt textures or none at all). I made sure the stripes were on to match Eudora3D’s skirt for We <3 RP. My kick ass boots are mesh delights from LeeZu Baxter that she came out with not too long ago.

My skin is a great deal at The Dressing Room Fusion. If you want to get into Inka Mexicola’s stuff at a good price, this is the way to do it. I punked it up with liner and lips from Constance Daehlie, who I seem to be a showing a lot of lately. It’s a go-to for me. Those beautiful gray eyes are from Umazuma Metaluna’s set at Chapter Four. Hasuko Kuramoto brought out these mesh ears not long ago and I made my own earrings from full perm pieces from LCorse. And my updo? A brutally brilliant bun from Kattington.

Rest

Summer doesn’t always have to be about tending your garden or sowing your vegetables or mowing the lawn. Sometimes it’s just good to lie down and take in the sunshine, enjoy the breeze and the flowers. I am doing that with some new outdoor furnishings. First a great cushion Sway Dench had made with several poses, perfect for a garden reverie. I love the sheer curtains and the whole idea of a place to just daydream.

Sway has also made some lovely garden benches in several colors (neutral or colors) that you could scatter about a garden or even a plaza, they are so nicely made. They include several unique poses—not just the boring sitting around kind.

I visited the Aloha Fair and got this great little dress from Antonia Millar that includes several different lovely summery floral textures on a texture-change HUD.  I ran to No21 and had to get this jewelry set from Diaxm. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous, all mesh, with great textures and design. We need more jewelry like this in SL!  My great little wedges are Eudora3D’s offering at Uber, with a great HUD that allows texture change on the metal, the two straps and the wedge itself. I loved playing with the different color combos and if you buy two or more color ways, you can mix and match the colors across the HUDs.

My chair and umbrella I found at the Aloha Fair as well. Myrrine made four lovely different chairs with an umbrella that has a texture change built in to match to any chair. Love the textures. Love the restful recline.

Kavar Cleanslate premiered this great side fishtail braid at Uber. He includes little starfish you can add to the style, but I wasn’t feeling the mermaid vibe this time. The hair looks terrific with this gorgeous skin from Inka Mexicola in one of her newer revamped shades.

A Case of You

Been having a few of those days lately where I just want to go home, sink into a chair, and have a glass of wine while I listen to my favorite music and relax. I feel like I am behind on a few tasks, least of which is showing this fabulous furniture, which I set up a while ago to photo. First there is this fabulous retro living room set from Froukje Hoorenbeek that includes all her fabulous animations, from purely sitting and enjoy a glass of wine to actually enjoying some time with a favorite sweetheart, smooching or more. Who knew such innocuous furniture could hold such hot thoughts?

Of course if I flop down on this great massage table from Tya Fallingbridge, someone may come along and give me a massage. Or not. But it sure looks beautiful and tempting in the corner of my bedroom with separate tables of towels and massage oils. This is still at Fameshed for a few more seconds so grab it while you can.

Tya has also made this absolutely stunning bed that includes singles and couples poses and some adult surprises. With carved tropical wood and a sheer curtain across the top, it’s a gorgeous bedroom set that she had at Liaison Collaborative and now has in her store. I put wall hangings from Trace Osterham on each side and hung a darling little mobile/lamp from Plethora in the corner.

My lovely dress, which I also wore for my video with Phobos, is one of Spooky Mistwallow’s lovely interpretations for this mesh dress. I particularly have loved her patterns, which are proportioned nicely on the dress. My new peeptoe pumps are Eudora3D’s newest and come with matching bracelets, sold separately.

Finally I have to brag about this gorgeous skin from Mochi Milena, which she has set up as a free piece for newbies and a very low price for the rest of us mortals. If anyone worries that newbies can’t get good content, they should pull them over to Mochi’s shop to grab this skin. It’s absolutely gorgeous (and ridiculously generous). My hair is lovely braided updo from Mariru Catnap that I grabbed from Fi*Friday before Hair Fair and promptly forgot about, which was a shame because it’s absolutely lovely.
