The Little Fairy

The Little Fairy

The Little Fairy

Genre’s new event is all about fae and so I did my best to wear the gorgeous pieces that they are offering to find the little fairy in myself. I started with this cute dress from Augurer with its sparkly otherworldly pattern and matched Plurabelle Laszlo’s darling little fairy slippers. Gorgeous fractal wings from Kerryth Tarantel add a shine to the whole look (remember when wings were SO in?) and a lovely little mesh blossom necklace and earrings from Ellantha Larsson complete the look.

The Little Fairy

Cherelle Capra has made a lovely vanity with cosmetics (which I didn’t rez) and stool for fairies to use for beautifying. (It is said fae are vain little creatures, apparently, who like to look their best as they flit around doing lovely deeds.) Little butterflies flit around the mirror. Of course, to be most beautiful, a fae needs to have an etherial skin and eyes. I picked up Hlin Bluebird’s darling skin at The Dressing Room Fusion. The brilliant part is it comes with ALL appliers you could ever need for a ridiculously low price and a lovely subtle makeup, perfect for fairies—or spring. I wore Constance Daehlie’s lashes from Genre to pop my eyes, which are gorgeous—bright fairy colors from Chandra Masala. And Mina Nakamura’s casual, wind-tossed style completes my look.

Fairy Tale

Fairy Tale

Let the little fairy in you fly! ~ Rufus Wainwright

Fairy Tale

Fantasy Faire opens today across 9 sims and there are many beautiful things to buy which benefit Relay for Life. Take, for example, this lovely dress with wings from Evangeline Miles. As always, Evangeline lends her luscious textures to the making of this beauty with the deep red almost shimmering with richness. I love how the halter top gathers up to a clutch of flowers, lending this otherwise sexy dress an otherworldliness.

Fairy Tale

I went over to Rhapzody Wilde’s store to find a skin that would suit this fairy look and while I found many pretty skins, the one I liked the most was her group gift, so I happily joined her group and put it on. With its pretty blush and expressive eyes, it’s the ideal look for the lovely fairygirl. I put Mocksoup Graves’ dimples on because.. I dunno… I think fairies have dimples.

Queue Marlowe’s newest woven hair is ideal for this look. With its fantastic woven side and rich color plus her distinctive wild curls, it’s the ideal fairy hair. And I keep my hair back with a new gold barrette from Tiffy Vella, ornate and golden beautiful.

Fairy Dust

The RFL Fantasy Faire has started and I, of course, did a tour of the sims. This is an excellent opportunity to get some beautiful fantasy outfits and benefit RFL as well.

Fairy Dust

I found this lovely fairy outfit from Elvira Ewing being offered as her RFL outfit for the Fantasy Faire, and I was delighted. With its hodgepodge of textures on the outfit, the pretty prim blossoms, and the cleverly ripped stockings, this outfit tells a whole story visually of a fairy who has cobbled together her outfit from sprigs and petals, fibers and feathers. And it has.. shhh.. don’t tell anyone I like it.. very VERY subtle bling. (OK, I know I didn’t put wings on.. this fairy creeps around at night.. she is a “Dream Thief.” Poetic visual license here, thanks.)

Fairy Dust

I know lots of fairies like a shorter, cuter shape, but this fairy outfit looks great on a taller girl too. With Tricky Boucher’s new Elle skin (which I noticed has a tendency towards frowniness, even on my subtly smiling shape) and yukitan Farrjones’ wonderfully shaped and curled hair, this fairy is less cute and pixy and a little more dressed up.

The Finest Jewelry

Tiny prims are a challenge. If you have never worked with them—tortured a prim down to its eensiest size, you don’t know what it means to work with them. The original master of tiny prim engineering was Random Calliope. Consider this sculpture he did, all 81 prims of it, next to the smallest cube I can make at .010 X .010 X .010.

The Finest Jewelry

No, that’s not a trick of your eyes. Actually, it’s a trick in my inventory—if I am not totally careful when I rez it, the darn thing ends up taking 81 prims somewhere on my sim, and I can’t find it without thorough searching. (And on this Primcess’ land, that’s like looking for a needle in a haystack!)

The Finest Jewelry

This blog is all about the tiny prims. Specifically, Di Yifu’s tiny prims. Di is in the next generation of exquisite jewelry makers after Random, as far as I am concerned. Following in the footsteps of such artisans as Caliah Lyon, Skinkie Winkler, and , Di Yifu brings new art to tiny prims. I am showing here her exquisite Laoris choker and earrings, which she is selling at this year’s Jewelry Fair.

The Finest Jewelry

Unlike Random, who worked exclusively with SL-made prims, no scripts, and SL-made textures, Di has opted to use sculpties and she has made a beautiful texture that rotates in the middle of each one of those little diamonds.

I chose a lovely and simple dress from Nicky Ree—the Kathy gown. It’s the elegance this necklace deserves without overpowering its beauty.

The Finest Jewelry

The hair is from fri.day, a terrific new store on the grid. If I wasn’t open-minded, I would think these were old designers rebranding, since the products, store, and business are so good, especially the hair.
