The best part of living in SL is living like you are in the Lives of the Rich and Famous. Today I prepared for a dinner party out in my conservatory from Cory Edo for Uber, With tables and chairs Cory did for the same event (with a ton of great textures as you can see and wonderful poses, PG and Adult), I made my tables with a couple of Kaerri Rae’s great table settings and some wine. Sash Arabello has a great gacha at Shiny Shabby with pieces for the traveler including the rug I show and the pretty candles. Cube Republic is featuring the bonsai and hosta at Shiny Shabby as well.

For my dinner party, I wore one of Poulet Koenkamp’s new and sexy dresses, this one featured at her store, and accessorized with a little choker she has at the Chapter Four. I love that Poulet loves colorand  the geometric cutouts on this dress add a little interest. Fringed heels from Fhara Acacia for the Dressing Room include a color change HUD for different versions.

Kuranosuke Kamachi’s long sexy hair for Uber is a perfect accompaniment to this look. Sawsan Secretspy is featuring this skin applier at the Designer Circle and I am really impressed with how great it looks on the Catwa Destiny head (my favorite).

Poulet Koenkamp has come up with a darling look for this month’s On9, an East Asian-influenced minidress with a cut up the side of the thighs and an asymmetrical top. Fit to the body, either a mesh body or system body, it’s a hot look, especially paired with the lace up heels from Skyler Lebed that she is featuring at Romp and the cute earrings AvaGardner Kungler has done for On9.

MissAllSunday Lemon has generously made three fantastic ‘dos for Hair Fair 2016, a portion of each sale benefitting Wigs for Kids. This mix of high bangs and high ponytail with locks framing the decolletage is a sexy fun look.

MissAllSunday also offers a whimsical side ponytail with a braided front. I saw a girl wearing this style at Summerfest (the RL one, not the SL one) this year and it was darling on her.

Finally, a braid frames the face for this long style, perfect for RP or everyday wear. As always, MissAllSunday rocks the Hair Fair!

Spring is coming and love is in the air! Well, I like to hope so. I know I love this new dress from Flutter Memel for Collabor88. It comes in several spring-perfect colors and fits mesh bodies quite nicely. I was able to coordinate Senzati0n Domenitzo’s sexy shoes, which are new at her store and come with some spring colors and I added bracelets from MoonBubble Gothly and Nissa Rayna, which they made for the 100 Block. Moonbubble’s bracely comes with a HUD that allows you to color each stripe and Nissa’s has eight metal choices. Maxi Gossamer’s gorgeous shell-decorated jewelry for Collabor88 completes my look.

Inka Mexicola snuck back in world and has released some gorgeous looks recently including this applier for the Catwa heads, which she is offering at the Liaison Collaborative.; With luscious peachy lips, the skin looks beautiful with any of the brow choices (you don’t have to just go dark brows as I show here). My blunt wavy cut from Evadne Quintessa for Hairology is a chic casual yet elegant look, perfect for warmer temperatures.

I recently redecorated a part of my home to enjoy some of the fantastic furniture and décor I was seeing at recent events. Kalia Firelyte’s great rug and fireplace from ROMP provide the center of the grouping with chairs from ValiantCo featured at Collabor88 and Fameshed. Sway Dench has made drawers and rugs for this month’s colorful theme at The Liaison Collaborative. Gachas from Kunst  Himmel and Anaisterpellie and DanielEstro provided fine accessories. I want to note that Anaisterpellie/DanielEstro’s pieces are usually based on a white palette BUT because they leave them mod, a person can recolor, retexture or just rip pieces apart as they like to decorate (please note the wreath on the wall came off one of their pieces and I recolored elements of their other work). Thank you for letting me mod!

To relax at home I am wearing a romantic gown from Aikea Reiko that comes in many luscious colors (as I don’t think Aikea sees any problem with giving you the rainbow and then some). As always, the textures are rich and beautiful with lush shades and ombres. Caelan Hancroft’s choker/collar from ROMP (which includes texture change for the metals and the center stone) is a lovely piece of jewelry or, if needed, open collar for other kinds of play.

My beautiful face is Gael Streeter and ElleEtGance’s mesh head collaboration (which I will call the “GA:EG Adriana Mesh Head” because that’s the brand name, regardless that it is hard to search and clumsy to type). With a very user-friendly HUD that was plug n play (which I will show in a subsequent blog post), layers for makeup, and most important to me, Omega compatibility, I think I am going to find myself wearing this head more and more. It does include expressions which, I find, are not as versatile as the Logo or LeLutka heads but as expressive as the Catwa head. I wish the makeups had the translucency control that other heads have. However, I found they went on lickety split, and I didn’t have the kind of rezzing issues I often have with the Catwa head.

Most importantly, the face is aesthetically pleasing to me. The cheekbones are a bit high but having adjusted my head length up and down and front to back, I was able to find a look that was pleasing. I did not have to mess with my mesh eyes very much as I do with Catwa and even Logo (thank you, thank you) and I found I could wear this skin from Sawsan Secretspy without problems when I wore the Omega converter. The head fit my Maitreya body to a T. It seems the creators have thought of almost everything one will need but I will keep working with it and tell you more.

I was plowing along with blogs and then boom, hit some sort of wall. Trying to get my mojo back. The new leggings Erratic Rain has at Collabor88 does a little something for me with the tons of colors and the perfect fit. I like the ribbing on these leggings—warm for the coming winter but versatile with other tops. I chose Sash Arabello’s tank from the recently closed (?) Dressing Room Fusion. High platforms from Celena Galli, which she offers as an exclusive at Thrift Shop, are half off for the event and come with a great texture-change HUD for various parts of the shoes. I chose to wear Mea Carnell’s beautiful fantasy jewelry with this look to dress it up a bit.

Monicuzza Babenco has issued a collection of skins on one HUD for the Catwa mesh head that are absolutely gorgeous and evocative, showing the progression of a beautiful woman through youth to adulthood and maturity. The look is gorgeous at any age. I love the character and beauty of this skin on the head—making it so I don’t see the mesh head anymore but the visage of a woman with character. Quite a feat! Mina Nakamura is joining in the fun at Hairology with this simple look, a versatile hair for many ages.

I giggled when I went to 6 Republic for this round with Chicago vs. California. There really is no competition. California is way warmer. Ever see a winter in the Windy City? It’s no fun—the night dropping suddenly like death, piles of lake effect snow, and yes, wind. However, Chicago has the most beautiful architecture, orderly streets and beautiful neighborhoods, masses of unpretentious diverse hard-working Midwestern people who wear boots in the winter so they can get around, and a thrum and noise that rumbles overhead from the El. (BTW, 6 Republic organizers, remove the “Subway” sign. There is no such thing there. It’s called the “El” and it’s elevated.) When I first heard the cozy music of Andrew Bird’s “Pulaski at Night” a couple years ago, I thought, yes that is exactly what Chicago is.

Piraiyah Novikov got a flavor of Chicago with his Art Deco pieces for 6 Republic. Chicago is an architecture lover’s dream with Art Deco, the promise of a bright new world at the World Fair in 1933, and understated glamour along the Magnificent Mile. Pira’s club chair and sofa are pure Chicago with its strong rounded shoulders and cozy softness. Pira got it. I wear a wool cowl-neck dress from StellaJane that she has made as an exclusive for the Thrift Shop. With a texture-change HUD with 10 choices, it’s a bargain at 50% off and a positively Chicago dress in wool but still fashionable and sleek. (Just put a cardigan sweater on if you get cold.) Frilled boots are an indulgence from Hilly Haalan at Cosmopolitan Room and a beautiful necklace from AvaGardner Kungler for On9 completes the look.

Hairology opens tomorrow so I am in hair heaven right now. What a great simple shopping area Tabata Jewell created for easy viewing and the hair coming up is amazing. This side styled ‘do from Neveah Niu includes fantastic textures and a great fit. Umazuma Metaluna has created a beautiful applier for the Catwa head for this month’s Collabor88. With and without freckles and option dimples, the skin is her usual combination of realism and perfection.

And now I need to go outside and get a breath of air for a slap of reality because I just got teary-eyed about Chicago in the winter. Andrew Bird does this to me every damn time. A cold fall breeze off the Lake portending winter oughta cure me of that.

This great song from Calexico (even better performed live, right, Barely?) is the kick off for this danceable look. I have donned Mea Carnell’s latest necklace for My Attic and dangerously high platforms from Glamistry. My dress is NataPorolo’s offering for Shiny Shabby, a beautifully textured, gorgeously colored silk piece. My gripe with the dress is the sizing. It’s shown here as a “maitreya” fit but it did not fit my Maitreya mesh body by any means, and my body shape is not extreme in any measure. The hips and legs were so off I had to do major surgery to my shape with alphas and sliders to get into the dress and then adjust the top to fill it in. I understand that Maitreya has not released their rigging, but some designers seem to be getting it spot on or close enough. It should not have been included as a “maitreya fit” if it didn’t work along  most sizes of shape worn on the Maitreya body.

I used Ensorcelante’s skin for Shiny Shabby as an applier on the Logo Alex mesh head from Maximillion Grant. I will say it looks different to me—the proportions are not the same and I wondering if the creator even tried it on the Logo head and if this was their intent. The lips are full and luscious but the eyes seem off to me in some way—too small or too enclosed. The brows do not extend around the browbone, which is a problem I have found with a lot of Omega skins for the Alex head. The body is, however, gorgeous with a great pair of legs, nicely textured arms and a beautiful tone. I donned one of Mirja Mills’ great braided ‘dos, now in store as it just left an event. I love what she’s doing with braids, using textures to mimic braids on these sinuous long locks.

Animal Instinct

I have to say that doing hair was fun but wow, I miss showing shoes and jewelry and all sorts of other fun stuff. Today I have a complete outfit, starting with an animal print dress from Ashleey Andrew, which she is featuring at Cosmopolitan in a bunch of colors, though I opted for the standard tan. I did so to match my rowringly sexy pumps from Glamistry for Kustom 9, which come with six different animal prints and allow mix and match shoe and toe as well as changeable metals via his brilliant HUD. My lovely necklace is AvaGardner Kungler’s beautiful piece for Cosmpolitan, which also comes in several colorways. I ran over to Santana Lumiere’s to get nail appliers for the Belleza hands (she has them for Slink, Belleza and Maitreya) to just make it that much more animal.

I was so excited when Max told me he was going to be doing Omega appliers for the Alex head. Inka Mexicola recently came out with this applier, which includes several brow color options and has a sublime face over the mesh face. The fun part of this applier is that you can see it with many expressions and create your own emotions mixing and matching the expressions HUDs (over 3000 combos). Worn with Kuranosuke Kamachi’s gorgeous hair for Shiny Shabby, my girl is wild and fun.

Exile at Hair Fair 2015

Kavar Cleanslate has been doing Hair Fair since I remember, and it’s everyone’s first stop to see what Kavar has made. This year he made two men’s hairs and three women’s which I show here. And once again Kavar brings his best game to the Hair Fair, benefitting Wigs for Kids.  He made a variety of looks for ladies, including a long lush hair, very typical of the full long hair he excels in. I love how he piled on loose tendrils on top of the look as well. I also loved the tendrils hanging down from the updo for the fair and around the face for the ponytail. Face-framing and fabulous, his hair hopefully will generate a lot of donations.

Shiny Shabby is opening today with a theme of “country dacha.” Neva Crystall, one of the organizers of the event, comse from Russia and prompted the designers to work with that theme. A dacha, for anyone not familiar, is a country home in Russia where people go to retreat from the city. The biggest feature at most is a garden, sometimes for pleasure, often for food growing. Monicuzza Babenco made this skin for LeLutka heads which has a tinge of Russian glamour in its makeups and lipsticks. Aaliyah Alter made a loose top and jeans for the event for casual days at the dacha.

I love Mirja Mills’ hair for Hair Fair this year. Long, flowing, wavy or straight, it’s downright seriously sexy. Mirja has brought her A-game to this year’s fair with some gorgeous made mesh hair with her sensational colors on her texture-change HUD. With each hair purchase kicking a percentage to Wigs for Kids, it’s a no-brainer to look sexy while helping kids.

I thought a sexy bohemian look suited this hair so I used Moonbubble Gothly’s fantastic new appliers for my top and wore Paul Lapointe and Bastchild Lotus’ awesome mesh bell bottoms for my outfit. Clicking the HUD, I found a great slate jean and black belt with silver buckle that echoed the silver in the gorgeous ethnic-inspired jewelry from Mea Carnell that she is featuring at Tres Chic. I dressed up Sawsan Secretspy’s luscious skin (that now has updated Belleza appliers so the hands and feet are covered) with eyes and lips from Constance Daehlie. It was a lot of fun putting this look together.
