All Saints Day

Halloween in my town was cold and rainy and windy and ghostless though the blowing of the winds was certainly chilling and the darkness was eerie. I sought a respite from the creepiness of the evening with Callie and her KittyCats. I had just gotten the cutest dress from Ivy Burner (group gift for Halloween—thank you!) and Kavar Cleanslate had come out with a whole bunch of new hair, including these lovely locks, wavy and all brought to the side. Callie had other ideas.

First she had me see her Silly Spook KittyCats. With a ghostly translucence, these kitties are scary but fun all at once (due to Callie’s charming artwork). The little feline ghosties tried to engage me in play, but I wasn’t quite into it.

Callie introduced me to her “Hell-O-Kittehs,” a group of underworld wildcats with choatic textures and crazy glowing eyes. They tried to suck me down into their inferno (reminiscent of more than one person who has told me to “go to Hell”), but I was rescued by…

Super Cats! These kitties pulled me skyward where I could float among the clouds. With their darling superhero costumes and bright masks, these caped crusaders assured my place in Heaven on All Saints Day. All three collectible KittyCats are available now at their store and on Marketplace.

Candy Corn

Candy corn is like crack for me. I eat it without stop if it is available, so I make sure it’s not available. I really hate that fuzzy feeling on my teeth from the sugar, though. I chose this outfit for one of the photos I submitted to LL for the front page. They didn’t choose it because another photographer also chose the outfit, so I show it here because I think it’s cute as heck. Precious Restless has put together mesh and system pieces to make this charming look. She includes two different brooms with poses and big bat wings that I chose not to wear. The pumpkins are darling and she has decorated this look with spider webs and bats that flutter around.

The perfect skin for this look was Aida Ewing’s orange eye-lined skin from last month’s Collabor88. (Yes I realize I am past due on this in the blog but the original photos were taken a bit ago.) Blonde mesh braids from MissAllSunday Lemon and intense black eyes from Ikon Innovia made my witch cute but still wicked. Finally, boots from Syntella Rhapsody, with the buttons set to copper, complete this look.

AnaLee Balut has given us a great Halloween surprise with her male and female skeletons, complete with wardrobes. I have indulged in hi-jinks in this great look for two days now and can’t get enough. The skeleton is built so well, the poses look perfect. And her mesh clothing now gives me new appreciation for the avatar bones.

Fierce (Sorta)

I had intended to do a really fierce Halloween look, something otherworldly and spooky and amazing… and then Callie brought the Halloween Kittycats over and my ferocity was  ruined.

My fierce look starts with this intricate ensemble from Cutea Benelli, the goddess of imagination and creativity. Assembled from bones and a curiously “data-textured” fabric, this bat-like fabrication is one of the many weird dreams pulled from Cutea’s subconscious. What is particularly delightful about this piece is the external spine in back and the eruption of bones in the skirt. It’s ghoulish and scary and perfectly ferocious.

What makes it even more ferocious is this seasonal skin from Sissy Pessoa, a silver version with blood red lips that comes with fang and dripping blood add-ons (which I am glad she made as makeup because I just don’t enjoy wearing blood on my face). My eyes are piercing red ones from Ikon Innovia, who made them for the RP set. They are perfect for this look.

Well as always, it comes back to the cats—the cute little Kittycats. Rezzed on each side of me they made perfect little guards, like little feline sentinels. That was pretty scary, especially since they have fangs and those widow’s peaks on their faces and eerie looking eyes. But then Callie told me to click and interact, choosing fly. Next thing I knew I was on a broom with one of the little kittens staring adoringly at me. Gosh darn it. I went from fierce to wanting to cuddle the little guy (which I did with the “interact” command). Then I was tossing a ball at him and my glaring red eyes were twinkling and I was talking baby talk. *sigh*

A Chill in the Air

Fall has come in too quickly. I am still staring at the shorts and t-shirt in my drawers, wondering if I will ever be able to wear them again. It’s not so bad because fall brings back the best part–snuggling up.

So I have snuggled up to .. myself. Yeah, that’s my male alt modeling for me. I needed a hunk in a pinch and there he was, chilling in his box, so I pulled him out. (Yeah, really, what kind of loser snuggles their other doll except me?) The reason was this adorable seasonable skybox from Gin Galtier. She has made 50 only to be sold on Marketplace and for that alone, it’s worth considering. I don’t normally do “on location” shoots, but the colors in this skybox are so pretty and autumnal, I wanted to show something cozy.

Check out the sweet desk in the corner with Gin’s eclectic styling. The skybox comes complete with all decor, which is also modifiable and removable. So you can hack this skybox as you please and still have a cozy nook for warming up. At 215 prims, it’s a lightweight packed with a lot of goodness.

And if nothing else, it’s chock full of great photography opportunities. (How humiliating—being cute with myself… *sigh*. What I do for “art.”)

My outfit is the kind of cozy I need on a chilly day. Doc Eldritch knitted up this beautiful sweater last year that comes with a hood or this great cowl. My jeans are comfy and sexy and made by Anyusha Lilienthal. And I love these boots from Ansor Hoorenbeek (who does women’s as well as men’s.. hello), which come with three different leg options. The great leg warmers make me feel cuddly. My boy is dressed in a great sweater from mappy handrick, jeans from machang Pichot and shoes from Guu Nishi. But really, this is all about the skybox…. and the girl ;)
