Spring is springing up all over this side of the world, and it’s very welcome. It was a Game of Thrones kind of winter. I took a walk on the Gates of Dreams sim, which has bloomed for spring too, in a new outfit I assembled from separates. First, I wear Hilly Haalan’s darling mesh top which includes a ton of mix and match textures for the elements of the top like the trim, bow, and inside. My jeans are pastel goodness from Poulet Koenkamp (they also come in more jewel tones) and have a great HUD for choosing the belt and stud colors. My shoes are Senzati0n Domenitzo’s pretty pair for Shiny Shabby, which opened today. My poses from Katya Valeska are also available at Shiny Shabby.

I always love the looks Umazuma Metaluna comes up with for different appliers, and this time is no exception. She has created a freckled beauty for the LeLutka mesh heads. I added no makeup to the face—it was perfect “as is” for this look. However, I did use Uma’s freckle add-on HUD for the Maitreya mesh body. It cleverly applies freckles over the clothing layer so you can match your skin tone to your freckled face. Lovespun’s lovely hair for Hairology is a casual look that suits my springtime outlook and a hand full of rings from Sigifaust, made for Shiny Shabby as a gacha, completes my look.

Coachella is coming up, and I am pretty excited because they have a pretty good website with live performances on it. My partner in SL lives kind of close to the event so some day I hope I can actually go and mingle among the kids. (We’ll likely be the very oldest people there.) My weekly music dude, Clark at Noon Pacific, has a little page up with recommendations with a guide to Coachella, which includes Christine and the Queens and one of their songs I particularly like.

I remixed my Coachella look with some recent event items, including a darling top from Kinu Mayako for 100 Block that holds particular interest for me because I have been crocheting a lot of granny squares lately. It’s sexy and bohemian and matched Paul Lapointe’s and Bastchild Lotus’ recently redone capris, fitted to several mesh bodies. I accessorized with a darling necklace from Ors Quan and Sigifaust’s great ring gacha set that includes a texture change HUD for any and all of the rings as a rare, both available at Shiny Shabby. Glamistry recently came out with these higher than high heel boots that include a stiletto heel (which in retrospect would be impossible to wear at Coachella but look cute with this outfit).

I chose Oytebis’ skin for Shiny Shabby because I thought the smudged eye makeup under the eyes was idea for a girl who is wandering Coachella at all hours. It’s a few long days and nights outside and who has time to attend to her makeup? The great thing about Oytebis’ skins is that she includes appliers for nearly every kind of mesh head with them as well as system skins, all in one HUD (except TMP, which you can request from the HUD). A floppy hat to keep out the sun from Rucy Byron comes with a texture change HUD and fits on Mina Nakamura’s hair perfectly. The two designers hooked up to offer this great look at Epiphany, and I am glad they did because it’s almost impossible to get a hat to fit hair—this time they did it for us!

I made myself into a pretty angel for this post with Eilfie Sugarplum’s wings for Uber but mostly it was for Sands Leavitt’s darling look for Uber’s ethereal theme. I chose to wear his cute top with lace overlaying a tube top. It comes with a skirt but I chose Paul Lapointe’s sexier-than-hell leggings with the finest behind in SL. I clicked into this lighter purple shade to let that pretty booty show. I chose the purple/pink shades on the newest Glamistry boots to match to my hot leggings.

MissAllSunday Lemon  has created this gorgeous feathered hair for the Uber event, and I chose a beautiful ombre for my look. I added darling cherry blossom combs to my hair from Mohsin Paulino to match my necklace from Sigifaust. The best part of my look is Steffi Villota’s gorgeous skin for Tres Chic. I used her eye makeup from the HUD and then used Catwa’s lip tinting for my lips, both blended in. What a beautiful face Steffi has created for the Annie mesh head!

Wow, I love this song. I love Ella’s voice and the longing. I am not sure what you are doing New Year’s Eve, but I am going to be dressing up and enjoying champagne, date or not. I chose this sparkly look from Polyester Partridge that she is featuring at Uber. (I forewent the sash.) The mesh itself is basic but the texture is fabulous, which is why I loved it. The price was a winner too! I accessorized with pearls from Sigifaust for Shiny Shabby and AvaGardner Kungler’s gorgeous earrings for Shiny Shabby that I show up close.

The show stopper of this look is, of course, pepehair’s gorgeous new skin for Shiny Shabby, an applier for the Catwa Annie mesh head that is absolutely amazing. Coupled with the applier for the Maitreya body, it’s a stunning look that is showing up on blogs and in photos all over the grid. She has created liners, shadows and lipsticks for the skin as well, but I chose to tint with the colors on Catwa’s HUD. Miu Edman’s pretty updo for Uber adds a simple elegance to my look.

My beautiful sexy fae is today’s fantasy, a winged queen with a sensuous look. Start with the lascivious pearl harness Sigifaust has made for this month’s Shiny Shabby. It was fully modifiable so I could shape it around my Maitreya body. I added Bax Coen’s up to there thigh high boots, this version made specifically for the Maitreya body, and a beautiful crown of jewels from Donatela Couturier to grace my butterfly queen. Pretty wings from artladyjas make her a butterfly.

My inspiration started with one of Umazuma Metaluna’s gorgeous appliers for the TAG Gacha with a butterfly stamped across the eyes and luscious purple lips. I have to say that Uma’s skins are gorgeously evocative on the Catwa Jessica head and they photo so beautifully. I can’t want for her to do more! I chose beautiful mesh eyes from Soleil Reid to echo the gold and purple in my outfit and I colored my hair from Shylah Honey, one of hers at the Fantasy Collective, with one of the 40 colors in their new HUD. What a fantasy!

One of the benefits of living this life is that I have friends all over the world who travel all over the world. I have received purses from Singapore, spices from Croatia, and recently, photos of a Capri sunset. So while I am stuck at home with a new dog and hot muggy weather, I get an update on everyone else’s vacation. So I thought I would dress up in this tropical look to imagine my own vacation on the Isle of Capri. Start with this beautiful tropical print dress from Kim Lysette, which includes a texture-change HUD allowing several different tropical looks with coordinating belt. Then add the gorgeous almost-antique necklace Sigifaust is featuring at Shiny Shabby. It includes a HUD for switching out the metal pieces. Finally, shoes from Aleida Rhode, great wedges that fit both Slink and Maitreya feet.

I couldn’t help but use the LeLutka mesh head applier from Monicuzza Babenco that she is featuring at this month’s Shiny Shabby. For some reason, I love in particular how she has managed to make a useful applier with makeup choices and a gorgeous skin and wonderful features that suits all the head shapes. Kuranosuke Kamachi’s newest hair was a perfect fit for this vacation look with great textures and with this particular color, a great fade to sunkissed, bleached ends.

Damselfly at Hair Fair 2015

Yay! It’s that time of the year again and you betcha, we have some HAIR for you! So for the next two weeks I will be showing hair I found at the Hair Fair and giving you a delicious look at all that is available and maybe spur you to get over there to SPEND MONEY to help WIGS FOR KIDS.

The fair opens on July 11 at midnight or thereabouts (SLT) and closes July 26. Every single purchase you make donates at least a portion to Wigs for Kids, which makes wigs for kids who lose their hair due to medical conditions. It’s that simple. Each hair replacement system is quite costly as it is custom and is donated to the recipient. So each little sale you make adds up to one more step towards a wig for a kid.

On July 26, they will have the traditional Bandana Day, where they remove hair and wear bandanas. On each sim in several spots are donated bandanas for purchase with 100% of the proceeds going to Wigs for Kids. The bandanas are transfer so get some for your friends because after the fair is over, they are gone! I have seen some amazing bandanas made for this, so I highly recommend you check out the bandana stores.

My first set of photos is from Shylah Honey and TOmmy Fairplay at Damselfly. Shylah and Tommy have been making content in SL since 2004 (!) and do custom mesh hair with a great set of textures, all on texture-change HUDs. I know for a fact they have worked their butts off getting these hairs done and a portion of the sale price goes to Wigs for Kids. Shylah cooked up some gorgeous looks for this fair! Tommy has two terrific men’s hairs up as well.

I wear the hair with a lovely dress from Miffyhoi Rosca, available at Shiny Shabby, which is going into its last week for this round. My face applier is one of Nena Janus’ new sets for the LeLutka head, which includes several gorgeous makeups on Nena’s beautiful skin. And my choker is SigiFaust’s open collar-compatible choker for ROMP.

Over and Over Again

This month’s Shiny Shabby opened with a bang, and no wonder, since the fashions are inspired, in part, by Ann Demeulemeester (which explains all the bold shapes and dark colors). There quite a few good picks, so this month of blogging is going to be very pleasurable. First is this asymmetrical dress from Kiddo Oh, available in three colors and very much Demeulemeester-ish. Add Senzati0n Domenitzo’s amazing ankle-wrapped heels and wire and glass rings from Sigifaust, and you have a designer look for your travels about SL. (See at the bottom where I took this look dancing at the DJ Stage at SL12B.) I have set the stage with décor from Imokon Neox, also available at Shiny Shabby. Monicuzza Babenco has once again created an applier for the LeLutka mesh head that does a beautiful job of embellishing the features of the face in the best light. I loved the choices of lipstick and the artistic eye makeups available with the applier and will certainly be using this photogenic fashion set over and over. My easy-going, lush hair comes courtesy of Kuranosuke Kamachi, with a great color palette available. Both are also available at Shiny Shabby.

Spring is here and the flowers are blooming! This weekend I went to the gardening store and bought several flats of flowers, quite a few hanging baskets and a big pot of herbs (the legal kind). My house is full of plants too, as you can see. In fact, I have so many, Mr. Beresford has grumbled a bit and asked if he would find them in his bed soon. I laughed, and then pondered…..

I dressed like a flower myself in this great little minidress from Ashleey Andrew, which she is featuring at the Cosmopolitan Room in several colors. The little side cutouts add some sexiness to the look. I accessorized with pieces from Shiny Shabby. The necklace and bracelet are pretty pieces from the Rohwan’s gacha. My rings are Sigifaust’s collection of rings, made specifically for mesh hands. And my shoes are Daisa Admiral’s flats, made for Slink or Maitreya feet.

MissAllSunday Lemon has come out with this long, center-parted style, a goddess look for the new Uber. And Sawsan Secretspy has released this lovely skin at her store, available in all skin tones and matching her appliers. I keep using Constance Daehlie’s manicure from this month’s Anybody because it’s got great colors and sort of a psychedelic texture.

The plants surrounding me are Plant Pets, by the way. They are a sort of breedable without needing more than one or buying food. They just need to be watered frequently via clicks. Every 52 days they reproduce a new seed that can make a plant. The biggest downfall? Lots of prims. Good thing Mr. Beresford lets me throw prims around, even my plants. I have the house packed with greenery.

Even when I run of out room, I never run out of prims. So when I got this bathtub planter and flowerpots from Paco Pooley from Shiny Shabby, I struggled for a good place to put them. Looking around, I found the PERFECT spot. Automatic watering, bathroom décor, and low prim! And no, they didn’t end up in his bed.
