Summer’s almost over (as evidenced by the gray sky I see outside today). But I can sneak one more day of shorts in before the air turns nippy. The shorts I chose are demin Daisy Dukes from Paul Lapointe and Bastchild Lotus, as always accompanied by a ton of choices in their texture change HUD, from designs on the pockets to the denim color to the belt style and color. I picked red, of course, to match the corset-like top Annie Melson has made for the Mesh Body Addicts event this month. Darling little cowboy boots from Klari55a for the Mesh Body Addicts match this casual look.

I really am loving Shyla Diggs’ new applier for the Catwa heads, so I chose it again for my blog. This time I have used a darker skin tone and pretty freckles with a deep red lip. I especially like that her skins match up with the Belleza body skins, which are so sexy on the body itself. Somehow Shyla and Tricky have added a special sexiness to the skins with the details they have chosen—beautiful collarbones, a shapely belly, even sexy knees. My long thick hair is NoMatch’s featured look for Hairology, long feathered locks with a center part. It’s a perfect last-breath-of-summer ensemble.

Oh, Allison, my aim is true

I chose this cover of Elvis Costello’s song as a sort of tribute to Templemore, the great alternative music venue in SL owned by Luis Lockjaw. I knew Luis a few years ago and bumped into him again and the lyrics made a little sense: “Oh, it’s so funny to be seeing you after so long, girl.” Luis has done a great job with the sim and brings in some fantastic musicians and DJs, so get over there and join the crowd.

That being said, the Mesh Body Addicts Fair is coming up and I have seen some pretty awesome items that will be featured there (August 1-21). Doc Eldrich, who is OLD school SL but still going strong, is going to be there with this sexy dress with changeable textures. This is the thing with Doc: his stuff will be perfect or he won’t put it out and this dress fits to a T, looks awesome and has some incredible textures including this flowery skull texture. I matched up a collar by Lexiesnow from the closing-today ROMP with the dress. I also show new shoes/boots from Klari55a for the Mesh Body Addicts Fair, an amazing pair that would rock a LOT of outfits (but looks especially good here).

One of the big pieces of news for the Mesh Body Addicts Fair is the launch of a new mesh head from Catwa Clip. I have had a love-hate relationship with her heads from day one. I was mad I had to do all sorts of minor adjustments on mesh eyes I purchased to fit them, they didn’t always rez properly, and the face didn’t greatly appeal to me. That has changed with this new head. The eyes! I put this one on and boom! There they were! A tiny tweak to the spacing of my eyes and the depth and I was done. I didn’t have to pull down the mesh eyes themselves, I didn’t have to fool around with them for an hour. OMG! HUGE improvement to me. The face functioned pretty well with expressions, makeups, everything rezzing in quickly and easily. And wow! I love the shape of this one. The eye openings are just the right size, the lips aren’t too sticky-outy (so they are catching all sorts of shadows), the nose isn’t ridiculously Janet Jackson thin. I am in love!

I applied several skins to the head to find which I might like for this post (and enjoyed just playing for once) and one of Sawsan Secretspy’s latest skins looked amazing on the head. Sawsan actually made this for the recent Mesh Body Addicts Bi-Monthly and while it was not made specifically for this head (nothing has been so far), I think it looks just amazing. I tinted my lips and liner from the Catwa makeup HUD to match my outfit and wore MissAllSunday Lemon’s sexy long ‘do for Fameshed this month and created a look almost as beautiful and sexy as Templemore deserves.

This dress from Pixivor Allen has been in my inventory for a while now, waiting for the best look and I finally was able to get it together. The dress itself, fully mesh, is an almost vintage satin dress with a deep brown autumn hue so I dressed it up with deco jewelry from AvaGardner Kungler and darling wrapped shoes made for Belleza or Slink feet from Klari55a. (These shoes include a HUD for changing multiple parts of the shoe for easy dress up.)

I also had this skin from Nena Helix in my inventory, always intending to wear it with a more ethereal look and this was the ticket, especially with special make up that Constance Daehlie made for a past Genre round that adds the drama I need to this look. Of course, the other inspiration for this look is Queue Marlowe’s newest hair, a darling look with a pin curl up front and flowing flexi locks.
