Just remember to fall in love,
there’s nothing else,

there’s nothing else

~ ”Swoon” by the Chemical Brothers

Swoon at this look. First we have this gorgeous new lingerie from camille yosuke, who has been making women in SL sexy for years. Her look is always delicate, soft and alluring, and in this ensemble, a bit dressed up and classy. I love camille’s pastel choices for her lingerie—she reminds us that a lady likes to feel pretty as well as sexy. I dressed up the ensemble with a new set from accessories from Tiffy Vella—long gloves, tied at the top and a choker cinched with a gem.

The news is my skin, which is an exclusive for the Skin and Shape Expo, a makeup version Gala Phoenix made for her new May set. Gala mixes photosourced elements with skillful artistry to create this glowing skin, which shows a face that is young but more elegant than some of her previous work. I really like it.

The Woman with the Accent

Ever meet a woman of indeterminate origin? You know who I mean.. one who has an accent that you can’t quite place, a look and manner that is so eclectic you can’t say, oh, she’s from Boston or Buenos Aires or Berlin or Bangkok. All you know is she is not from your own small town.

The Woman with the Accent

She’s really nice, friendly, interesting when you meet her at your cousin’s boss’ wife’s cocktail party. She will tell you a story about where she got her lace top, this one being from Sissy Pessoa. “I found it in this very interesting boutique in Milan,” she’ll tell you. “And the woman there—what an artist! She sewed each button herself!” You’ll hear the perfect way she says “Milan” and inspect the top, which is indeed made of the finest black Italian lace, and conclude she has to be Italian.

She catches you checking out her skirt and leggings, and she explains she got them in Japan from this great designer, cocoro Lemon. “There is something so marvelous about feathers,” she laughs as she pushes around the food on her plate with her chopsticks, picking up the sushi appetizer with such skill, you would swear she was Japanese.

The Woman with the Accent

She seems to be eating but none of ever it goes in her mouth or so it seems because her bold red lipstick is never smudged. Then you will compliment her makeup and she’ll tell you all about this great American artist, Lorac Farella, who has created a most unique makeup line that combines a gothic and pale look for the average woman, so she has a darker and more elegant look. And then you think, hm, she has to be from New York.

The Woman with the Accent

She fluffs her flexi ostrich feathered skirt and your eyes travel down to her boots as she sets down her plate still full of food (she *looked* like she was eating but nothing went down). The boots, leather with zippers all over, are also from Japan—the same cocoru Lemon, she explains. “Ah Tokyo!” she smiles. She sets down her empty champagne glass (the second one—she DOES seem to be swallowing that down), scans the crowd looking for the next person to speak to, and gives you a sweet little smile. “Nice meeting you,” she says. “Toodle-loo!”

Long Lean Shapes

An artist friend of mine once suggested I should take up painting lessons with an abstract expressionist because I was more interested in shapes than anything else. After taking these photos, I think I see his point.

Long Lean Shapes

This long lean shape was created courtesy of the elegant new gown from the new Ultra collection at LeLutka by Thora Charron. With its sculpties creating a voluptuous shrug on top leading to its long lean skirt, it’s a pastiche of shapes and textures leading to an overall elegant silhouette.

Long Lean Shapes

I particularly like how Thora layers the lace skirt over lace leggings so the movements of the torso produce a shimmer effect. I also quite like the corset bundling the jacket. I chose to wear my normal shape with this dress because the wider derriere and hips wrapped by leather emphasized the wasp-like waist cinched by the corset.

I accompany it with a high couture hair from lamb Bellic (I think a 50L Friday offering) in a pale pale platinum blonde. And my face is provided by Tuli Asturias—elegant, understated.

Paisley Harper

A few months ago, Callie Cline called me and asked to name a dress after me. I don’t know why, she said, but this dress reminds me of you.

In the end, she made six colors of the dress and named them after some pretty spectacular ladies in SL including Babyhoney Bailey, Graciana McMillan, Gorgeous Yongho, and Summer Deadlight.

Callie let me choose which dress I wanted to model, and I chose the copper color. Why? Well it’s muted, it goes with the muted skin and red hair I usually choose, and oh, it was fall. And I think I knew Gogo would want the blue.

Here is the Harper’s Bizarre version of the dress in copper….

This is what I like about the dress. Callie used a great complex texture on the system pieces that stretches well over the avatar—check out the decolletage with the pretty lace insert and how Callie has framed the paisley around the bodice. And look at that sexy low cut back. Callie also includes some great details, like a double-stitched hem around the top skirt and the sleeves and matching lace in the sleeves, the back and front and the hem.

Then she included with the outfit the ultimate in girly jewelry—diamond and black gem earrings, bracelet and ring. Check out the stone on that ring!

Callie is a fantastic lady with a great brand. Period.
