It seems all there is for sims lately are winter scenes and all I see outside is a winter scene. It was brutally cold today, so I put on a sweater in RL and found this very cozy one that Kitt Ragu is releasing at Shiny Shabby (opening the 20th). Made for both men and women, the sweater comes in several colors with an underlying shirt if you would like it. I forewent that version and put on a little scarf I found in my inventory from xxRyvenxx and found great little low-cost boots from Senzati0n Domenitzo at The Dressing Room. My jeans were released by Paul Lapointe a bit ago but work so well with the Maitreya body and so many different looks. They come with a brilliant texture change HUD allow different jean colors, pockets and belt and metal colors, though I went with the standard classic color and look.

OK, I admit I stole the hat from Karla Marama’s hair at Hairology. I will find a way to show the actual hair but it conflicted with the sweater, so I opted for Carina Larsen’s hair for the upcoming Shiny Shabby instead. It’s a cute short cut with fringy bangs and a lot of personality. I have once again opted to try an Omega applier on the GA:EG Adriana head, this time putting on Aida Ewing’s skin applier, which she made for the Logo heads but is on an Omega applier so can be used on this head too. I have tested a few Logo appliers and the skin makers, of course, want to have the skin suit the face shape, so when the skin is put on this shape, it can look measurably different and sometimes quite “off.” Aida’s skin looked pretty good and when I applied the add-on makeups, I think the result was quite nice, especially with Aida’s pretty freckles.

Last Christmas–KittyCatS &Friends Advent Calendar, Day 14

The jingle jangle of bells in this old Christmas song from my adolescence always reminds me of snow. Gotta love George Michael (and his hair—wow). So I went to snowy Loch Noble to shoot photos of my outfit, which is sort of an awesome look considering the pieces are priced so inexpensively. Well, first there is the jacket which is free in the KittyCats & Friends Advent Calendar. Sands Leavitt has generously offering this stunning red leather jacket with materials as his little gift to all the calendar clickers, and it comes in several sizes to fit different mesh bodies. Solange Cerveau is offering this itty bitty mini, made to fit several mesh bodies (and it does so on my Maitreya body like skin—not a single clip) for the Winter Gacha Festival. The chain and ornaments around the waist are the “rare” so you can push linden into that machine and always end up with a great prize because the skirt is so great! (And since it’s gacha, giftable. Get one for all your friends!) My awesome hat is Aleida Rhode’s gacha for the Gacha Garden at the Liaison Collaborative. The fur textures are so gorgeous and she has a big decorative safety pin. My long tall boots from Allie Munro are one of her featured pieces for FROST, which has opened. I love their shape and the textures and they are rock bottom priced!

Sawsan Secretspy released this lovely skin with several makeups at the Frozzen Fair. The lips are mostly pastel and the makeups a bit smokier, so the look is very sexy when you combine them together. My hair is naminaeko’s exclusive for Hairology. It comes with or without streaks and in a bunch of fantastic colors as well as “naturals.” I especially liked her “glitter” textures. The hair is low profile so it fit perfectly with a little resizing of Aleida’s hat and the textures looked fabulous.

Bringing Home the Tree–KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, Day 11

Loch Noble just reopened their sim and a fresh coat of snow has fallen with more coming down. It’s coated the whole beautiful village with a white blanket and made it perfectly charming and wintery. I took a late morning run over to check out the storefronts and get my tree. (OK, it’s the sim “tree on a car” but work with me here…) I felt very seasonal in Aryiana Novelli’s supposedly ugly sweater for Christmas on 34th Street, though I think it’s absolutely charming with the clever use of multiple translucent layers to make it look soft. Chantal Mynx’s cowl for FROST provides colorful warmth, as do Izzie Button’s tights for TLC. And they matched my boots from Hera Aviatik, which are also for FROST. Pretty earrings from AvaGardner Kungler for this month’s On9 (which I downsized quite a bit) and a berry cluster from Abraxxa Anatine make the whole look seasonal and pretty.

Thank goodness for Mavi Beck’s darling holiday poses for TLC because they worked great for this set of photos. I am wearing Sawsan Secretspy’s new skin for Winter Trend on the Catwa Jessica head and I added shadows from Alaska Metropolitan that she is offering at a rock bottom price at Anybody. I have fallen in love with Constance Daehlie’s eyes for Winter Trend (which you will see over and over for the next few weeks). She offers system and mesh eyes. And the final and most glorious part of my look is Queue Marlowe’s gift for the KittyCats & Friends Advent Calendar for today—an amazing topknot that includes three different HUDs for your wearing pleasure.

Autumn Mornings

A beautiful fall morning woke me up and I took a walk outside to enjoy the colors and the fresh air. It’s unseasonably warm so the vibrant colors are a pleasure. I wore a boho sort of outfit including a new top from Ariadna Garrigus that comes with a great texture-change HUD that allowed me to switch around until I was able to match the scads of gorgeous jewelry from Mea Carnell in her Gacha Garden collection. She gives you many options so you can combine necklaces and different mixes of bracelets and arm cuffs. She even offers rings that fit Maitreya or Slink hands. My boots are Senzati0n Domenitzo’s feature for Sad November. I decided that Paul Lapointe’s great boyfriend jeans would work great with this top.

Inka Mexicola’s beautiful skin for Kustom9 allowed me to remove the mesh heads for a day and breathe in the fresh air. With several makeups, it’s fresh and lovely with gorgeous brows and eye makeups. My tousled hair is one of Shylah Honey’s pieces for Fameshed this month, an unrigged wavy ‘do finger combed and tossed back with pretty tendrils framing the face (and suspiciously like my own RL hair).  Enjoy the fall colors on the Loch Noble sim as I did. It’s gorgeous!
