Ariadna Garrigus made this cute little shorts and top set so I had to get over to Baja Bay and enjoy the sunshine. With a texture-change HUD for the shorty shorts and the tied-in-back HUD, the outfit is a sexy look for the summer, especially accessorized with dangly earrings from AvaGardner Kungler for Shiny Shabby and a fun handbag from Aikea Reiko. These strappy heels are from the last Mesh Body Addicts event from Klari55a, who has been doing great fit-to-mesh-feet shoes for a while. They come with all sorts of color choice options on a HUD.

Otyebis has made this gorgeous skin for Shiny Shabby this round for the Catwa heads and it wore beautifully on the Sarah head. I added some dark dark green liner and tinted up the lips using the Catwa HUD. I love that Otyebis includes a body applier HUD for various bodies with the face applier. I was able to do a Maitreya push-up look and it went on fabulously. She also includes shorter looking lashes (an applier) with the skin but I opted for some on Catwa’s HUD. My darling hair is Bubbles Clawtooth’s offering for N21 this month, a long style pulled up in a bun with the option to purchase without or with the long bangs.

I went over to the Garden of Whimsy because I was feeling some whimsy today in this dolly look from Moonbubble Gothly. First there is this darling coat dress she is giving away for 10L (!) for the Cupcakes Anonymous Hunt. With pretty flounces and a soft pink look, the dress is a perfect dolly dress up. I paired Moonbubble’s cute dolly platforms with the dress, all bows and buttons. Cate Ying has a gacha at N21 that broke my bank as I was trying to get the last rare of the set. I aced the texture change mitts and the fuzzy collar right off and then got lots of commons that were passed out to the Skin Addiction group with lots of squeals.

Sora Ashbourne features these cute ponytails as her item for Shiny Shabby. With a number of tones per HUD, including more variegated textures like this one, they are perfect Cindy Brady ponytails. Deesselle Destiny probably intends her skins to be used for more sophisticated looks but with a touch of blush and a lighter lip on the Catwa Jessica mesh head, I almost pull off this sweet look. (I did apply eyeshadow, though.)

I went over to the beautiful Elysion to take photos of this fabulous new dress from Flutter Memel. Available with three different color choice HUDs, the dress has a great look and fit. I loved wearing it with Maxi Gossamer’s elegant jewelry for Collabor88, which includes its own clickable color change gems and metals.

I am ashamed to say, however, I needed to fulfill my mission of blogging every one of the KittyCats & Friends Advent Calendar gifts, so I snuck on to Elysion wearing Piraiyah Novikov’s gift for today, these adorable monster slippers. If you have ever seen Pira’s avatar in world, you will see that these slippers make total sense. I did match the dress to the slippers, yes. I had to because it’s very important. I am a freak.

The other big news of today’s blog entry is the new mesh head from LeLutka named Simone. With an elegant face, fuller lips and high cheekbones, this should get a lot of ladies interested in updating their look. They have also refined the HUD a bit more with additional mouth expressions and eyes that can be changed to accompany smiles or frowns. I wore Monicuzza Babenco’s gorgeous new applier exclusive for Shiny Shabby on the head to show the beauty of its shape. Tabata Jewell’s stylish hair for Shiny Shabby is my up-do of choice, lending an elegance and sleekness to my look.

Mexican Chocolate Butter Cookies

To cram big chocolate flavor into a tender, crisp chocolate butter cookie recipe, we found that cocoa powder—with a much higher percentage of cocoa solids than other forms of chocolate—was clearly the best candidate. ~ Cooks Illustrated

Today’s cookie (which turned out excellently) is the Mexican Chocolate Sugar Cookie. Forget the sugar—it’s all chocolate, dark dark chocolate (thanks to Dutch process cocoa and instant espresso), with an eensy touch of cayenne pepper to give it a little afterbite. This is not your Grandma’s Christmas cookie. I thought the idea of the cayenne pepper touched cookie went well with this outfit, which includes a darling integrated shawl and top from AscendSL and a great set of leggings from Rucy Byron with feet shaped to fit Slink or Maitreya shoes and a texture-change HUD for three different neutral shades. I picked up a pair of boots made by InfinityStore that includes a texture-change HUD for the socks and the hardware and a scarf from xMike Deed from Thrift Shop at half off to complete my look.

Avenge is a new skin line made by AvengeStore, and she includes appliers for Slink hands and feet and Maitreya and Belleza bodies and tells me she will be working on Catwa and Logo head appliers very soon. The body is nicely detailed and the face is quite pretty with several makeup options available. She’s still getting things together but for a unique look that many won’t have, you might check her store. Bubbles Clawtooth features this wavy and wild hair at N21 with some great ombre textures she has made. The barrette includes its own color change HUD.

At first glance, the alfajor is entirely unassuming. One might even pass it up for something with chocolate chips or frosting. This would be a grave mistake. There’s a reason this simple cookie defines the cafe scene in Buenos Aires and has entire cafes devoted to it all across Latin America. It’s maybe the best cookie that ever was. ~ Julie R. Today’s cookies are alfajores, an Argentinian specialty, tender and flavorful, filled with dulce de leche. And today’s look comes courtesy of June Dion, who has made this darling Chanel-inspired outfit with mesh pieces. She includes dark and light pieces with textures that are absolutely gorgeous, even close up. I looked at the buttons over and over because they are so exquisitely done. And out and about, my ensemble got noticed—several asked me where I got it. (You will find it in th new releases section.) The outfit also comes with some system layers which are unnecessary and boots that you can take or leave. I left them for these great boots Senzati0n Domenitzo made for Shiny Shabby. They fit my calves perfectly and include all of Senz’s great colors. With Polyester Partridge’s darling little case for N21, it’s a chic look.

I am wearing the Logo mesh head again, testing more makeup applications. I used AtomicSparkle Skytower’s beautiful applier for the head and then applied one of Alaska Metropolitan’s great (and economical!) lipsticks. Omega applier eyes from Weaponized Sugar complete my look. I popped Glamistry’s awesome sunglasses on my head (even though it’s overcast) and the newest hair from Chiaki Xue, a wavy lush look that creates a darling wrap up for an entire look. Could my girl be Argentinian? She certainly is chic enough.

Never a Wrong Time

I just made the SL12B site (http://slcommunitycelebration.info) “live” yesterday and with all the moving parts in the site and in the organization, it was a bit of work, so I am ready to get outside for some fresh air and a little fun. (Please please join us for this great event!)

Spring is especially a good time for polka dots, and Moonbubble Gothly has colored my spring darling with this ruffled mesh blouse with polka dots. Available with a great texture change HUD that includes a plethora of polka dotted textures, the blouse is available at 100 Block, which means it’s discounted as well as exclusive. I paired it with jeans from Missqwerty Pevensey, also from 100 Block, in a great skinny style, and gacha items from Alia Whitfield, including a tote that has a texture change menu for the woven part of the bag. Sexy sandals from Senzati0n Domenitzo, which are fitted not just for Slink but also Maitreya feet (yay!) from 100 Block make me pink from head to toe literally.

Sopha Portal has made a series of gorgeous skins for the Black Fashion Fair, some in pale skin tones and some in deeper tones. With lined eyes and pale pink lips, they are pretty and sophisticated. The sets come with mouth appliers for various mesh mouths. I had to go to the store to get the body and hand appliers. Ikira Frimon made this darling cut for the Black Fashion Fair with her massively multicolor HUD. While it looks great in black, of course, it’s also darling in this bright pink. I love Polyester Partridge’s girly “normal” jewelry that she has been featuring at various events. This pretty pink gem is available at Kustom9.

The Dreamer

Sometimes being in a virtual space is a form of dreaming in a dream space. We dream of another life, of creations we can’t make or obtain. This beautiful dress from Kiddo Oh, which she is featuring at the Seraphim Social, opening on February 19. Fully mesh, it comes in four colors, including this dreamy pink. I accessorized with Sigifaust’s mesh ring set, fitted to Slink hands as well as Maitreya, which will be sold at the Shiny Shabby event at Neva Crystall’s sim, opening February 20. They come singularly as well. Giela Delpaso has refashioned her nails for Maitreya and Belleza bodies, yay, and I was delighted to see them come out.

The Shiny Shabby event is going to be considerably bigger than the one held in December—over 50 designers, all of them top notch. The furnishings I show here will also be at the event, including this charming bench from anne Dakun, a hanging screen from aki69 (who has made some fabulous dream pieces if you check out his store), and a chandelier from Tya Fallingbridge, part of a shabby chic set she has made especially for the event.

I keep wearing this delicate and beautiful skin from Inka Mexicola because it looks so wonderful and now she has made appliers for the Maitreya body (as well as others), so it’s so easy to wear. My fabulous shag haircut is Shylah Honey’s entry for N21 (opening the 21st, natch) and is one of the more unique styles I have seen hit the grid. I love what Shylah has done here with asymmetry, tendrils of hair and spiky pieces, and a sort of cowlick on top. It’s a standout in the piles of Farrah Fawcett blowouts we’ve been seeing so much of.

I swear I am going to keep it a warm December. One way is wear sweaters and other warm clothes. I put together this cute ensemble with some new things that have come out to make my December sexy and warm. Start from the top with the great KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar gift, a set of scarves from AvaGardner Kungler in three colorways for great accessorizing. Ava gave us a pink and then a black and brown (for men too!) so you can switch it up and be warm.

I matched to the scarf Moonbubble Gothly’s darling mesh sweater, which comes in several colors, and is perfect for the FROST event. I paired it with jeans from the Mustang Sally outfit that GraceHaddington recently put on her floor. With a great washed look and fit, these jeans will work with boots! And these boots were essential—not only for getting through Froukje Hoorenbeek’s prim snow but also because Carmella Ruby made them so cute. She includes a script to remove or show the sock. I just dig the low profile and the great texture she uses.

Shylah Honey has just put out one of my favorite hairs she has ever made at N21. With the waves that turn about on themselves. It’s the ultimate in wavy, windblown hair, sexier than heck, and awesome with their great texture-change HUD. This is a *must have.* My beautiful soft skin is one I picked up weeks ago during the Skin Addiction Black Friday from June Salmson. The face is exquisite with a beauty and softness that highlights my pretty eyes from Constance Daehlie. How can a girl not keep warm with such goodness?

I am still beguiled by the skin that Mochi Milena has made for androgynous looks. As a woman’s skin, it’s lovely and provides a beautiful palette for makeup, so I chose a liner from Constance Daehlie and lips from Zxxrysa Magic, which I have been wearing like mad it seems lately. My hair is a gorgeous side-swept look from Shylah Honey for N21 that comes with all the great textures Damselfly offers.
