KittyCats Advent Calendar

The KittyCatS Advent Calendar is up again this year with a lot of spectacular gifts for people!

Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea has this fabulous chair with single and couples poses for Day 1 and come back on Day 7 for the darling poinsettia from Kriss Lehmann of Botanical. Day 2 is a great snowglobe with poses from ZzoieZee for Zanze.

Day 3 features 2 gifts: a great set of sneakers with and without socks from Ansor Hoorenbeek of Hoorenbeek for both men and women and a gorgeous fireplace with working fire from Karthikeyan Engineer for Mesh India, including a log holder. (Again, note the poinsettia.)

Day 7 is the aforementioned poinsettia from Kriss Lehmann of Botanical (everyone needs one of these) and Day 8 gives darling nails from Santana Lumiere of La Boheme for a variety of nail types with gold or silver buckles.

Day 9 are two gifts… Giela Delpaso of Nailed It made this sweet set of nails for all nail types and separate mesh nails if you still go system. And Debil Skute of Dekute Dekore is offering this great neutral furniture set that include a variety of sits. These are seriously great pieces.

Day 10 is a sexy little dress from June Dion for Bare Rose with mesh and system pieces.

The Color of Truth

The season is turning to gray, both at events and on sims. I visited the new Furillen build by Serene Footman, inspired by the RL Furillen hotel, to see a widely gray scene based on the “brutal beauty of post-industry with the natural splendor of Gotland island.” It’s a beautiful place for photoing, of course, and I will probably return again and again as I do with most of Serene’s builds. The Shiny Shabby inspiration theme is gray as well. I wore this darling outfit from Larcoco Mathy for Shiny Shabby, which is a one-piece mesh look that includes a texture change for the skirt, so you purchase the sweater color and you get a variety of skirts to match via the HUD. Senzati0n Domenitzo’s chic boots for Geeks n Nerds keep me safe from the snow while looking chic and Christel Morane’s bucket bag for Boho Culture Fair has a fabulous texture change HUD to mix and match the bag, handle, and ribbon for an ideal look.

Shyla Diggs has brought her beautiful art to the Catwa Jessica head and it’s breathtaking. With fine features, luscious lips and Shyla’s absolutely gorgeous eye makeups, the face is transformed and becomes unique. With face framing bangs from one of Kuranosuke Kamachi’s new hairs, it’s a stunningly beautiful look. Bastchild Lotus has made a beautiful necklace for the gachas at the Freak Show, one that comes with a center piece with all the cards of the tarot and if you get one of the two rares, you get a HUD with texture change for the beads AND for the center cards. It’s well worth pumping some change into the gacha to try to get it.

I got Erratic Rain’s new leggings and top for Uber and they made me want to boogie oogie oogie! First of all, the mesh fits skin tight to the Maitreya Lara body with nary a gap or sag. Second, it comes in eye popping colors and includes a color change HUD for the stripe on the leggings. I added Maxi Gossamer’s colorful and fun necklace and earrings, also for Uber, to the ensemble and found Toxxic Rhiannyr’s amazing funky boogie oogie skates, which made the outfit complete. Then I took myself over to Rollerballs for some skating fun (and a great disco stream).

Roller skating was a big deal when I was a kid, and the whole set up reminded me of the sweaty, cotton-candy soaked fun I had zipping around. Add these poses from Luna Jubilee and Radagast Lexington, and I am a boogie skate queen.

MissAll Sunday Lemon made this great side-flung high ponytail for Uber, which I wore in a bright pink to push the look to the top, and I colored my lashes from Thora Charron blue for that added disco look, which also made my blue eyes from Ikon Innovia for Shiny Shabby pop. Finally, I have one of Umazuma Metaluna’s lovely Lelutka mesh head appliers that she will have at the Arcade at the beginning of the month with boldly colored eyeshadow so I can boogie til I can’t boogie no more.

A fantastic sexy white dress from Kiddo Oh today that might make someone think “I Still Remember You.” This unforgettable set comes from two rares from her gacha at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. Spin well and you can get both these pieces, which include the coin embellishments and the wonderful belted waistline. I can almost hear the coins jingling as I walk around in it. I paired AvaGardner Kungler’s gorgeous polished stone necklace and earrings with the look.

Shylah Honey is offering this great hair at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival as well. The regulars are all up-dos but the rare packs get the updo AND the bonus long ponytail I show here, which I thought was a clever rare bonus. The big news of this blog, however, is that Mallory Cowen has made appliers for popular bodies, body attachments and yes, even Omega-ready mesh heads. I purchased the Omega set at her store, applied to Maximillion Grant’s Alex mesh head and my Maitreya mesh body and bing, bang, boom, LAQ has joined the mesh generation! You still can’t beat Mallory’s beautifully textured body and sublime makeups and skin tones. It’s enough to make a girl smile!

The theme for Enchantment this month is “The Little Mermaid,” and blessedly, instead of being inspired by a copyrighted cartoon, most designers opened their minds to sexier and more ethereal sea creatures. Kiddo Oh is presenting this seemingly basic black dress. I say “seemingly” because she has cleverly crafted the texture and dress so it’s beautiful even as you move into different poses (I am using Vestige Creations here). She has also textured the inside of the dress with a lovely purple so that you see peeks of it when you move. That’s craftsmanship, especially with the coordinating tentacle bracelets. You might think it’s just a black dress, but dress it up and it’s so much more, especially when you wear something as detailed as Mea Carnell’s exclusive for Enchantment, this lovely mermaid motif choker.

Inka Mexicola offers a beautiful new skin for Enchantment this month with subtly glossed lips and beautifully lined eyes. I paired it with Mina Nakamura’s windblown-hair from Kustom 9 in a fantasy white with dark roots. The curls provide movement without being a one photo look—you can actually wear this hair around and not look like it’s stuck in position!

The MadPea Productions Art Gacha opened yesterday, and I have to say, if you want some fun or beautiful pieces for décor or gifting, this is the place to go. One of my favorite artists is participating—Garvie Garzo—and if you like whimsical pieces that add a touch of though or fun to your space, hers are the best. I chose three pieces to show from her set, which are very much her style. The sign flashes on and off (but not with in world light) and has that great neon sound. I would highly recommend you check them all out as they are fun and inexpensive.

Beanster Potato was one of the first designers I went to way back when when I wanted a complete and cool outfit. She did sweaters with skirts and then tights and a little bracelet and maybe cute boots—she thought it all out but made her pieces separate enough you could wear them with other things. With the advent of mesh, beanster has not stopped but continues in this great tradition with her SLX Outfits. This set I am wearing comes with everything—top, jeans, hip belt and jewelry, even pumps though I opted for my own shoes. They fit and look fabulous and come at a terrific price. Bonus is the texture change HUD she packs with the top so you can have a number of looks out of this package. I chose KenadeeCole’s feathered sandals, also with a texture-change HUD for the feathers, to make this look a bit more casual.

Kuranosuke Kamachi is cranking out hair and I have to say, it’s all luscious and long with great textures. Included is a pretty comprehensive texture-change HUD so you can find just the tone you like. I am wearing the Alex mesh head from Maximillion Grant and this time I opted not to fool around with the expressions. This head can be more than that—you can actually walk around wearing and enjoying it (and who walks around with their tongue hanging out besides my dog?). It’s a great shape for Sawsan Secretspy’s lovely skin for the Mesh Body Addicts fair, a skin that comes with several makeup options. I popped in Eleri Catlyn’s mesh eyes and adjusted them to size for the head.

Finally, my seat is a collaboration between Wavie Haller and Tegin Serin for the LTD round. I walked around and was amazed by the offerings at that particular event. There were some lovely pieces for decorating, especially this chair, which comes with a ton of poses and great textures for the pillow and blanket, all scripted in for your decorating and redecorating pleasure. One thing I really like about Wavie is that he is willing to collaborate with many designers and groups and seems to do so with ease. That’s a particular difficulty with many creators in SL and RL too. To work and seamlessly combine efforts is sometimes impossible, but he seems to make it happen again and again. That’s real.

One of the benefits of living this life is that I have friends all over the world who travel all over the world. I have received purses from Singapore, spices from Croatia, and recently, photos of a Capri sunset. So while I am stuck at home with a new dog and hot muggy weather, I get an update on everyone else’s vacation. So I thought I would dress up in this tropical look to imagine my own vacation on the Isle of Capri. Start with this beautiful tropical print dress from Kim Lysette, which includes a texture-change HUD allowing several different tropical looks with coordinating belt. Then add the gorgeous almost-antique necklace Sigifaust is featuring at Shiny Shabby. It includes a HUD for switching out the metal pieces. Finally, shoes from Aleida Rhode, great wedges that fit both Slink and Maitreya feet.

I couldn’t help but use the LeLutka mesh head applier from Monicuzza Babenco that she is featuring at this month’s Shiny Shabby. For some reason, I love in particular how she has managed to make a useful applier with makeup choices and a gorgeous skin and wonderful features that suits all the head shapes. Kuranosuke Kamachi’s newest hair was a perfect fit for this vacation look with great textures and with this particular color, a great fade to sunkissed, bleached ends.

Clematis

Finally the flowers are out! I have been taking walks and snapping photos left and right of people’s gorgeous gardens. By the end of August. I hope my clematis climbs as high as the one Lilith Heart is selling at Fameshed. The detail for such low land impact is amazing.

Kiddo Oh’s gorgeous dress for the Cosmopolitan Room is a lovely full mesh piece that evokes dresses young ladies wore for cotillions but with a sexy twist in skirt cut up to there and side panels cut to the waist. With a delicate crystal embellishment along the bodice, it comes in four lovely shades, but I thought this delicate shade was perfect.

Bubbles Clawtooth came out with this retro style for Collabor88, available with or without bangs and with a nice texture-change bow. I think my mom wore a style very similar to this in the early 60s and it suits this ball gown just fine when one thinks of the last bloom of innocence in a young woman. My pretty skin is Inka Mexicola’s lovely new skin, available in her store with all the eyebrow shades you can shake a stick at. As always, her eyes are soulful with thick groomed brows and a piquant smile.

I need some bright blue sky for the summer, so I chose this bright blue sky dress from Flutter Memel for Collabor88 to start the basis of this cheerful look. Available in several colors and prints (including several fruit-themed looks), this long t-shirt/tunic is a casual and loose summer look. Add high platforms from Senzati0n Domenitzo for On9 and Maxi Gossamer’s Indian-inspired jewelry for Fameshed, and it’s a bright summer ensemble.

Mirja Mills is featuring this awesome pile of cornrows at On9 in all her great colors and textures for girls who need to get their hair up. Whatever Is Whatever

Thank you, Breezy Luik, for the title! Quite apropos!

It’s one of those weeks. Dashing back and forth, here and there. Half the time I don’t know if I am coming or going. The darling little bicycle carts Trace Osterham made for Arcade are a perfect metaphor for what’s going on with me. One way, Italian ice; the other, cotton candy. Wear it and ride off!

What else do you expect at the beginning of the summer? Flowers need to be planted (the windowboxes are in, by the way), all the classes have to be scheduled, a quick family trip planned, and SL12B is about to open! It’s easy to get around when you’re wearing something cute like this dress from Novery Lorakeet that she has at Shiny Shabby. With Bax Coen’s great little booties, now released in neutrals, it’s a lovely look, especially accessorized with Grazioso Alekseev’s gorgeous glasses (all prims—omg!) and one of Monica Outlander’s hair accessories for the Arcade.

I am wearing one of the LeLutka mesh heads with an applier from Sawsan Secretspy, who has seen fit to bring her artistry to the various faces of LeLutka. With a great hud that offers several eye makeup and lipstick options, the head works perfectly with Sawsan’s skin for the Maitreya body. A cute easy little ponytail from Ikira Frimon for Shiny Shabby and I am ready to go!
