Queen Annalea

Queen Annalea

As the head parson placed the crown upon her head in front of all the citizens in the arena, she felt its weight.. not just on her head but down her spine, running through her body, deep in her soul. As the chains were settled into place, the crenellated horns adjusted, the warrock tails thrown over her shoulders, she knew her lazy afternoon lessons, her idle needlework, her gossip and girlish pastimes—all were gone and over. That was another life and it was far behind her.

She gazed out into the faces of the thousands of people. Her mother, Queen Dendra, gazed up at her from the foot of the stage; her younger brother, Rance, watched her keenly. She thought about the death of her father, King Timmott, in the hands of the enemy.

The head parson announced, “All hail, Queen Annalea.”

The people cheered. “All hail, Queen Annalea. Long live the Queen!”

Queen Annalea

Our queen comes courtesy of June Dion, whose considerable line of inexpensive and amazingly rendered garments is an incredible addition to SL content. This ensemble, part of a set with several colors, includes sculpty belts, ties, and a beautifully textured skirt. Echoed through the garment are Asian motifs all jumbled up in a complicated but beautiful look fit for a young warrior queen.

Queen Annalea

My hair/headpiece comes courtesy of Tekelili Tantalus, whose unique vision provides amazing fantasy wear that includes incredible versatility with a built-in color-changing script that operates most elements separately. Look closely at his textures—they gleam and shine with depth of light and dark. Tek is at the Hair Fair this year, and he will be, without exception, the most amazing and fantastic artist there. Indulge in one of his pieces—they go beyond hair to art.

Queen Annalea

Her blue eyes locked with Rance’s eyes as the arena filled with the fierce chanting. Unspoken but agreed between them at that moment was that vengeance was inevitable and it would be theirs.

Wicked Woman

She is preternaturally silent, her coat swirling around her as she moves, unusually graceful in her strange platform boots. All I can feel is the susurrus of air as she circles around me, her eyes focused on me from behind the mask of her facial tattoo—wings as if from a phoenix, burning around her eyes. I can’t imagine the pain of receiving that tattoo. I wonder why she chose to get it (or didn’t choose), what brought her to this point.

Wicked Woman

Last week I was making sweet little girl outfits; this week I seem to have found my inner demon. I start with an ensemble from Bare Roses, which is the source for a whole range of inexpensive and imaginative outfits. This particular outfit comes with the usual overabundance of sculpties and dead-on details, including leg buckles and arm buckles.

Wicked Woman

I was inspired by this skin from Plastik, which is a hunt item for the Style of the 50s hunt. (Don’t ask me more about the hunt—I tripped upon it and took advantage so I could see what the big kerfluffle about Plastik skins is.) I was able to work this whole look around the skin and makeup from that set, which I like a lot for its fantasy flavor.

Wicked Woman

My boots are ankle versions of Ono Zinner’s awesome fantasy boots (which I now see don’t show in profile so you get a bonus photo).

Aluminum

They called her Aluminum because, even though she was fluid like quicksilver, she was light and plastic, silver and shining and electric.

Aluminum

LeeZu Baxter’s newest is another in her line of more interesting experiments in sensual and sexual design. This piece reveals the middle body pretty substantially (and this is kind of almost a family blog) so I wear a lacy bodysuit piece from Jojorunoo Runo.

Aluminum

This stunning skin with its shimmering quality is a new one from aida Ewing, available at The Dressing Room. This is a perfect face for Aluminum. And the wild hair is an older piece from Mirja Mills, but still wonderful, especially for this look.

Future Perfect

He quickly pulled me off the busy sidewalk and into a doorway. A velocicopter whizzed past, leaving a plume of cool air behind it that curled around the corner of the doorway.

“Come with me,” he beckoned, and I followed him into the dark doorway.

We pushed through a small dark hallway past the security cilia. They whispered over our bodies as we passed, sensing our pulse, picking up data from the dust on our clothing, sniffing for prohibited weapons. Frac pushed through and emerged into the club ahead of me, bellowing, “Mellita, domi adsum!

Future Perfect

A towering woman emerged from behind a dark podium. “Fractile Montosa,” she snarled. “Welcome back to the Esoterium.” Her skin was pale and glimmered with a subtle sheen in the black lights of the club. She wore spots of glowing light blue hardware—earrings, belt, gems on her chest armor. Lines of blue light slid up her calves.

She gazed down at Frac, peering through her dark glasses with disdainful light blue eyes. I could see lines of data sliding across the inside as she engaged his attention. “We won’t have any more trouble like we did last time, will we?” The lights on the bottoms of her heelless boots pulsed with the beat of the loud music in the club as her long fingers curved around a small glowing voltaic terminus.

Frac grinned abashedly. “No, Ma’am. Just here to grab a drink, swap a few stories, and discreetly enjoy the beneficence of your gracious hospitality.”

Her blue lips curled in a smile. “I am glad we understand each other.”

Future Perfect

Our hostess from Esoterium is wearing the lastest in future club wear. First a great outfit from Syane Cisse—a combo of futuristic breast plate over Victorian bustle, laced and cut high in back and completed with fingerless gloves and thigh high stockings. The outfit comes with a hud for changing the accent colors. Her dark data glasses (also with hud) are also from Systi with glowing blue accents and her skin is from Systi’s sister, Syane. With its blue lipstick and shadow, it’s perfect for an evening at the Esoterium.

Future Perfect

Finally her amazing boots from Ono Zinner. With their heelless shape and molded platform, these boots were made for futuristic ass kicking. Ono has made these as his others, with glow adjust and animation adjustment available in a handy hud. Our hostess at the Esoterium can choose a rainbow of colors and adjustments to these boots and look newly made every night.

Future Perfect

Drinks arrived at our table, smoothly served by a pale dark-eyed server. “On the house,” he smiled, nodding towards the hostess across the club, who still had her blue eyes focused on Frac.

Frac lifted his glass in salute to her and drained it down in one draft. “Cheers to Mistress Eso!” he said merrily, slamming it down on the table.

Boring

Saturday Night
We look alright
We’re going out
Boring.

Paris, France
Londontown
NYC
Boring.
Nothing thrills us
Anymore
No one kills us
Anymore
Life is such a chore
When it’s….
Boring
Boring

I really hate when people jump into group chat and say, “I’m bo-ored,” don’t you? How can you possibly be bored in SL? If you are, log off. Yet the coolness of bored seems to pervade some venues. I don’t get bored, especially when you can change your look every day.

Today I have put on an assortment of pieces to equal the girl in black. First a new top from Nyte Caligari, who continues to put quality content into SL after all these years, never stopping, always improving. I love the asymmetrical nature of this top. Then we have this spangled skirt from Ivey Deschanel (who rocks the glitter in her textures). I pulled on opera gloves from Anemysk Karu for a touch of glamour and hooked in earrings from Linka Demina for a bit of fabulousness.

Then I pulled on these cyberfantastic boots from ono Zinner. The brilliant thing about this set are the animations in the soles and running up the backs of the zippers, and the great HUD for changing the colors of the details to whatever you like. The texture of the boots can be changed to four different styles (I am wearing black carbon here), and there are 10 available animations for the soles. How can you be bored when you can find fantasy boots like these?
