The styles Carina Larsen is offering at Hair Fair made me think of a honey bear because of their charming textures and styles.

Carina does include a men’s hair, which I wear myself, trying to make it as cute as the others. But for women there are three styles, one a generous gift!

Funny Bunnies

Easter’s coming up and for some it’s and important holiday but for many it heralds the beginning of Spring. With chocolates and Easter egg hunts and bunnies, it’s a lovely holiday, and I have surrounded myself with the newest KittyCatS to celebrate. These kittens were custom made for the Showers & Flowers collection (rain, flowers, sunshine and blue skies) and the Bunny Babies, who wear darling flapbacked pajamas with bunny ears. These will be sold for only a limited time, so get them now! Interspersed are eggshell candles from Cherelle Capra and lovely sparkling art she is selling for the holiday (including one piece that is a group gift.

I dressed all in purple for the holiday, starting with my darling top from Paul Lapointe, which comes in a long and short version, which I wear here, and as usual, includes a texture-change HUD that offers 16 bright and muted textures. I have to note that Paul and Bast’s textures are infinitely better than your run of the mill looks. Paul does all his mesh himself and he does it with exacting attention. The fabric wraps around to a perfect insouciant bow in back. My jeans are from Christel Morane, who is selling these sexy skinny jeans at the 100 Block in several colors. My handbag is GraceHaddington’s newest, and it includes a texture change HUD with 8 colors and an AO that allows you to wear the handbag in several poses without seeing it go through your body. I picked up my shoes from the other day and decided to wear them because Pill Kanto did such a great job!

My fresh look comes from PeachieMuah, who loves to add dimples and ruddiness to her faces to connote a healthful glow and youthfulness. Her skins are doll-like and precious but they still work on my rather longer face. My beautiful eyes are Isabelle Requiem’s featured product at Kustom9. I have been waiting for her to come out with new ones! Finally, my big fluffy hair comes from the master of feathered and fluffy locks, Kavar Cleanslate. I clicked around on his HUDs for quite a while to find this perfect blonde, pink-tinted look and had a good time imagining the possibilities. Hoppy Easter!

The Rainbow

Sometimes a rainbow is the goal, not the gold, and this dress from Dainie Fraina proves my point with its rainbow colorwash and great off-the-shoulder style. Dainie, who is known for her African-inspired fashions, loves color and finds anyway she can to get as much as into her fashion without going overboard. This time she got every color in the rainbow with a little green removable tie at the waist.

I am carrying a cute texture-change handbag from the queen of cute and inexpensive accessories, Renee Harvy, which matches my darling wedges from Ariadna Garrigus, which she also features in brown and black.

Peachiemuah has released this new skin, named after a certain famous blonde I am guessing, with beautiful features, full lips, a fine blush to her lips and a little darkness around her eyes (as if she had been partying a little too much maybe). I love Truth Hawks’ style with waves surrounding two beautifully curved braids that taper down to nothing. Sometimes Truth makes the most romantic hair, and this certainly fits that description.

Fierce Female

Fierce women do exist. In fact, they outnumber the fierce men! Spooky Mistwallow just came out with this dress for her RP line, Mirage, and I put it on and felt my woman warrior emerge. Yeah, I know a warrior needs to be shielded and covered but this one is so lithe and fast she can fly through the air and get out without damage. The textures on the dress are so lush, especially the gold embroidery at the hem and bodice and the shape is sexy and my girl can be sexy and strong all at once.

Knee-high tie-up gladiator heels from Harry Hyx make the look even fiercer and sexier especially with serpent arm bracelets from Sissy Pessoa. I ran to the I Love Role Play gachas get gorgeous eyes from Filomena Quinnell and a raid horn from Thord Karu. I lucked out on my first try with both! And yes, fierce women can wear nail polish on their fingernails and toes—this one of Zozicon’s latest with beautiful spring textures and colors from the Pre-Release Gacha Garden.

My skin is PeachieMuah’s latest for her doll series. I can imagine this skin could be a perfect doll-like skin on a different shape but on mine it turns out to be a little more sophisticated, despite the dimples. I love the liner around the eyes and their shape with well-groomed brows and a slight blush. My hair is a two-piece mesh beauty from Morphine Janick. I love the blonde texture and having it in two pieces allows the option to not wear the braid and just have the wind blown look.

My quote is sent out to a friend who has received some bad news, and I want to give him some encouragement. It feels like there is a lot of bad news we receive from friends in SL but the truth is that if we appreciated what we have more, we would *hear* the good news too. The other night a friend who has not been on SL for a while logged on and had the BEST news for me. He had met a beautiful woman in RL and they had gotten married. He spammed me with wedding photos and gosh he was right—she IS beautiful.

None of that is pertinent to this look except the cheer I wish to evoke with the look. Paul Lapointe and Bastchild Lotus have come out with a new leather jacket that can have the tank top or not. Both have color-change HUDs and of course, the colors are coordinated with their other pieces, so I wore their more recent skirt release with its absolutely fabulous tushie. (Paul, please consult the mesh ass people and show them how to do it?) The textures are typical L&B—lush, nuanced, perfectly shadowed and tangible. I want to run my hands all over myself just looking at this jacket. And the snakeskin top is amazing. Add great capris from Ivy Burner (who is also a mistress of texture), gorgeous jewelry from Maxi Gossamer, and funky stilettos from NikkiIrene and I have a great look!

I couldn’t help but put on Queue Marlowe’s whimsical hair from Collabor88. As a friend said, How does it do that? Queue won’t do something unless it’s fun and doesn’t let a bad day EVER get her down, which is why it’s always good to have her around, even if it’s in her hair. My skin is Peachiemuah’s newest doll skin with dimples, soft features and pretty eyes. A touch of lipstick from Mocksoup Graves brightens the natural-toned face. Peachiemuah’s skins come with appliers, so you can wear your Slink hands and feet as I did.

A Christmas State of Mind

I am enjoying the holidays a lot this year. I made a crapload of cookies (that are now in the freezer). I tied special ribbons all over the tree. I remodeled my family room and sewed a special holiday runner for my mantel. I went to a cocktail party last night and noshed on the holiday special treat in these parts: raw beef and onions. And I have been knitting like mad to get some gifts done too. So… I kind of dressed up elfishly to feel it in my heart.

I started with Shai Delacroix’s boat-neck top, a casual mesh piece with a great texture change HUD that allows a variety of looks, all with stripes. I wore red, of course, and matched my socks (cuz matching socks with shirt is very festive). And I put on Isabelle Requiem’s new winter shorts for a little elfish fun. Merry winter boots with pompoms from Anessa Stine make the look complete.

My face is speckled with stars from Airedine Poe’s darling gift for the KittyCats Advent Calendar. In fact, I have two more gifts in this blog from the Calendar—first, my silly darling poses from Gidge Uriza and if you look at my nails, some awesome candy striped nails from Giela Delpaso, who has been giving in holiday spirit for both this and the Peace on Earth hunt. She offered TWO sets for the KittyCats Advent Calendar. Go give Giela some of your linden by buying one of her regular nail sets—she deserves some thanks.

PeachieMuah has come out with a new doll skin, which I wore with elven glee and Isabelle Requiem’s moody eyes have a certain twinkle. I tied my hand up with a bow with Cherella Capra’s gacha ring (one of many) that she is offering at the Christmas Market Event, that is still open. Of course, M4ri1yn Magic’s cute hair with eensy ponytails makes the look—how much more festive can I get?

If there is no joyous way to give a festive gift, give love away.

How can you not think these are the best times of our lives.. well our second lives. We have mesh, we have new rendering, we have a plethora of great content creators. C’mon, folks. Enjoy it! I put together an outfit with mixed textures today to compliment my furniture feature. An older shrug from Cerberus Noel (quality always looks good) keeps my shoulders warm over this top from Isabelle Requiem, which she is offering at She & Him. I tucked little shorts from Sanura Snowpaw underneath and work butterfly garter socks from Nena Janus. Group gift boots from Jaimy Hancroft complete this look (with clocks etched in the leather if you look closely).

My whole exercise in showing so many prints and colors in the outfit was to compliment the fabulous new furniture set from Cory Edo, which she is offering at FaMESHed this month. It’s no secret I am a *huge* fan of Cory, not only her work, which is artistic, well made, and top notch but also her attitude, which is practical, cheerful and intelligent. She loves mesha nd it loves her. I love how this latest set revels in patterns and colors, allowing the owner to mix them and match them with texture change scripts in the furniture and enough poses to make any virtual interior decorator happy.

My blushing beautiful skin is one of Peachiemuah’s newest releases for her Fresh Face line. With darkly lined eyes and full sensuous lip, this is a bit more mature look for her skins and quite welcome. My updo is one of Truth Hawk’s newest and so much easier to wear now he has a texture change hud. School can’t start early enough in my house—just sayin. The huge bag of supplies has been purchased, registration is paid for. Now all I have to do is lay out my clothes for the first day! (My first day I have to take someone else to school and the mommy looks competition is fierce—who can be casually dressed and look fabulous at the same time?)

If I were going to school in SL, I would definitely choose a more funky look. Start with this darling jacket from Kehl Razor that he is selling at Fi*Fridays for a sinfully low price. It comes with a HUD that allows color change for the stripes on the shirt bottom plus the stripes on the sleeves, and it fits perfectly. If you have been hesitating to get Razorblade’s great content for whatever nutty reason, this is a great chance to get one of his pieces a rock bottom price.

I paired it with some awesome shorts from Ivy Burner and these brilliant socks over shoes from beanster Potato. The set includes socks alone or socks with shoes and has a great HUD for changing the textures, which include argyle, striped and polka dots.

I accessorized with a hipster pork pie hat from JohnFrancis Laville, who is offering a red version in his gacha at The 24 or you can get an entire set without chancing it. My backpack is from Guu Nishi, who is the queen of great and inexpensive accessories in SL. How can you resist that little monster on the side?

My youthful skin comes courtesy of PeachieMuah—her latest release. She combines youthful glow with a touch of Japanese sensibility and I love her stuff for a younger look. My ponytails are Truth Hawks’ latest. I am hearing only good things about his revised store and vendor system. People are really digging the new textures and colors!

The Menace of Zucchini

I have vegetables on the mind, which have nothing to do with this blog but everything to do with the farmer’s market I keep going to and the myriad recipes I have been trying out. The best so far is roasting them in the oven with some of the fantastic olive oil I buy and some coarse grain kosher salt. And I have made stuffed zucchini three times this week rather than being on SL. Need I say more?

I have dressed up in a chic paisley dress recently released by SamanthaSJones with the new wedge shoes from Babette Ultsch I recently showed and can’t seem to take off. I have been wearing it for several days now through several zucchini iterations.

I am showing furniture from several vendors who are donating 100% of their income from sale of these items at Love Donna Flora. Yep, there’s not just fashion but also furnishings. Start with Kaerri Rae’s peacock-themed set complete with mirrored cabinet, rug, chairs, even wall art. A beautiful set like this deserves to be in your home, especially when it benefits Squinternet Larnia.

Fallacy DeCuir contributes this chair with a color change blanket and the shelves you see behind me as part of a set that gives 100%. This lovely face comes courtesy of PeachieMuah, who is releasing “fresh” faces on a regular basis. She is refining the look with more defined brows, a lovely deep set eye, luscious lips. My hair is one that Calico Ingmann had at Hair Fair and presumably in her store. I love this asymmetrical style and love the color-change hud she has used for years for her hair.
