To much to many people’s surprise, I really do not like promoting myself. It’s a Midwestern thing—don’t make noise, don’t be too full of yourself, don’t put yourself over others. But I have been honored to be nominated once again for the Avi Choice Awards, so for this one blog entry I am going to ask you to vote for my blog, “A Passion for Virtual Fashion,” as Favorite Fashion Blog and for me, “Harper Beresford,” as Favorite Fashion Blogger.

OK with that uncomfortable task done, let me tell you about what I am wearing. LacunaInc is participating in My Attic with the theme of “How to Marry a Millionaire.” She came in with this gorgeously textured dress, lace overlaying a satin, in several colors and priced so inexpensively, your millionaire could get you the fatpack and still walk away with change. Senzati0n Domenitzo is also participating with these sexy pumps which are pure class.

I am still beguiled by the skin that Mochi Milena has made for androgynous looks. As a woman’s skin, it’s lovely and provides a beautiful palette for makeup, so I chose a liner from Constance Daehlie and lips from Zxxrysa Magic, which I have been wearing like mad it seems lately. My hair is a gorgeous side-swept look from Shylah Honey for N21 that comes with all the great textures Damselfly offers.

My friend just got back from a week plus in Paris. It was a wonderful visit, a chance to wander around one of his favorite cities, revisit his French, and enjoy the colors and cuisines. At one point, he told me, he looked at the cost of flats in Paris. He really wanted to stay. I understand that feeling. I had done the same the last time I was there.

He pointed out to me that two young ladies who helped him with some work he was doing there were typically Parisian—they wore their clothes with a casual elegance that only Parisian girls manage. I hope I get a measure of that elegance with this look. Start with a coat from Erratic Rain, beautifully rendered in 100% original mesh with a great texture change hud for the buttons and sleeves and available in 10 colors.

I switched the sleeves to white so I could wear it with this darling asymmetric skirt from Areve, who is having a sale at her new location. This skirt comes in 5 colors on a handy HUD and in you can get four different versions. I happened to pick up several things.

Terrie Dreadlow is also having a sale in honor of her 6th rez day and I got these darling t-straps meant for Slink feet but also fit Belleza mesh body feet with minor adjustment. The shoes have a great color change HUD and are also modifiable (so I could darken the red to match). At 66L, these shoes were a STEAL.

Umazuma Metaluna has released the bare Hazel skins and I gladly donned one with a great lipstick from Zxxrysa Magic, free in the Dirty Turkey Hunt. Long wavy locks from Ms. Queue Marlowe give the final touch.

The New York Times has a brilliant haiku generator on their site (http://haiku.nytimes.com/) that pulls lines from their stories and makes haiku from them. I grabbed the lead haiku from it.

I thought it suited this sophisticated look from GraceHaddington, a mesh pantsuit with an open cut back. Grace buys up mesh templates and sprinkles them with gorgeous textures, great styling and her own magic fairy dust (including a great texture-change HUD), and supports a large business with several other junior designers. Her prices are always reasonable and her output prolific. You can walk in any day of the week and find scads of new fashions, priced inexpensively.

I wore with this a new jewelry set made by Zuri Lyric in collaboration with Poulet Koenkamp. With a gorgeous set of bejeweled pearls that drops down the back and matching bracelet and earrings, the pieces come with Zuri’s texture-change scripts and are pure luxe.

I wore a super-sophisticated and sexy skin from Sawsan Secretspy that she recently had at Boho Culture but now in her store. I added the FREE lipstick Zxxrysa Magic is offering for the Dirty Turkey Hunt at her store. My short hair do is a new one from Chiaki Xue, who still makes short sassy cuts fashionable.
