I took a springtime walk at Nusquam, enjoying the windlight through the trees and the warming spring air on the sim. I went for a black and white look to combine some fun pieces from The Project Se7en and Shiny Shabby. First is this dress/shirt combo from Larcoco Mathy for the Project Se7en that includes a HUD with a ton of choices for the inside dress. Then I pulled on funky socks made by BerthaWeiss, also at The Project Se7en, which has resizable garters that include a HUD for color choices. I am wearing some funky platform shoes from Pill Kanto for Shiny Shabby, a double balance on the train track at Nusquam. Mea Carnell’s stylish necklace for SaNaRae adds some circles to all my stripes.

Shyla Diggs is rocking the appliers lately and has come out with another applier for the Catwa heads, this one new for the Mix Event and absolutely gorgeous. With several eye makeup and lipstick choices, it’s a great look on the Annie head. Shylah Honey has been cranking out some darling looks lately and this wavy casual ‘do for Fameshed is perfect for this spring day.

Angles

In a few minutes we are wandering out into the freezing cold to get crepes, specifically Parisian crepes. I know I can make these at home but the point is that I need to get out of the house. Thank goodness for SL because it cures a certain amount of cabin fever I have right now. For example, while in RL I have a turtleneck and sweater on but in SL I can dress elegantly for a luncheon of crepes with this sleek silk suit from Poulet Koenkamp. Poulet uses templates—it’s not a big secret or shock. Her RL keeps her plenty busy with a little one and learning mesh-making seems a huge time sink. It doesn’t matter because her textures are so amazing. She turns a simple suit into something fabulous with great fashion sense. And her color change HUD makes it so great to match something up. A handbag from the Oh My Gacha from Kismet Chrome and shoes from Senzati0n Domenitzo, and I am set.

I went to bed with yesterday’s eyeshadow on and left my brown contacts in from Constance Daehlie so you see them with Sawsan Secretspy’s newest skin for The Big Show. I think it’s actually a very sophisticated look and goes well with Mirja Mills’ sleek hair, which is a group gift (!). I have had this magnificent hat from Pill Kanto in my inventory for months and have wanted to show it with something worthy of its elegance. Cocked at an angle, it has a certain glamour and attitude I need to get me through the winter.

I love this gentle song about growing up and learning that life is not black and white. Sometimes SL could use a little of that. And black and white is my look today, starting with two separates that Shai Delacroix has come out with that include her characteristically ingenious HUD that includes a mesh piece that shows you just how the clothing will look with its texture. The sweater and skirt do not have to go together—in fact I suggest you find other separates to wear with them to mix and match because they are both basics, especially the sweater, which comes in many lovely colors. The skirt includes some brilliant artistic looks but I went for this black and white to match the silver shoes Pill Kanto has made for The Secret Affair. (Those heels ARE rezzed. He has cleverly made a platter-shaped heel.)

Mina Nakamura is offering a special black and white set for Kustom 9 as well as others. I decided to tiny this long casual style with black ends to give contrast against Shai’s sweater. My skin is Inka Mexicola’s generous bare look at the Cirque du Seraphim, which ironically donates money for the ASPCA.  My delicious intense eyes are Nicole Button’s newest for Egozy.

Soon the butterflies will be out, flitting around flowers, spreading joy. I can’t wait. In the meantime, I can fill my home with colors and butterflies, specifically this furniture Kaerri Rae is selling at the EB Awareness Event with part of the proceeds going to Debra of America for research into Epidermolysis Bullosa. I wrote about the disease and a classmate who had it yesterday, but as I was listening to this song by Mariah Carey, I was thinking about the bravery of the parents of such children. The song talks about letting some you love spread their wings and fly and for a parent of a child who is so easily injured, what a leap of faith to let their butterfly out into the dangerous world. That’s why support of the patients of EB is so important. It would be wonderful to see these Butterfly Children fly.

I wear Ivy Burner’s darling sun dress for the Monochromatic Fair. This is a kind of essential party piece in my mind—perfect for casual dances, beach parties or shopping. The flowered texture is almost retro and the lined hem and belt makes the dress pop. My shoes from Pill Kanto are his interpretation of pumps with a open sole, which he is selling at L’accessoires. (Shouldn’t it be “Les accessoires”? I keep getting tripped up by this.)

My fresh and beautiful skin from Sawsan Secretspy was a natural for this look. The pale red lips, the gorgeously lined eyes with a touch of yellow give my red dress a bit of glamour and a little retro touch. With Circe Ishtari’s newest hair, a combo updo ponytail with click-to-tint color menu, this pretty red ensemble compliments the butterfly décor.

Funny Bunnies

Easter’s coming up and for some it’s and important holiday but for many it heralds the beginning of Spring. With chocolates and Easter egg hunts and bunnies, it’s a lovely holiday, and I have surrounded myself with the newest KittyCatS to celebrate. These kittens were custom made for the Showers & Flowers collection (rain, flowers, sunshine and blue skies) and the Bunny Babies, who wear darling flapbacked pajamas with bunny ears. These will be sold for only a limited time, so get them now! Interspersed are eggshell candles from Cherelle Capra and lovely sparkling art she is selling for the holiday (including one piece that is a group gift.

I dressed all in purple for the holiday, starting with my darling top from Paul Lapointe, which comes in a long and short version, which I wear here, and as usual, includes a texture-change HUD that offers 16 bright and muted textures. I have to note that Paul and Bast’s textures are infinitely better than your run of the mill looks. Paul does all his mesh himself and he does it with exacting attention. The fabric wraps around to a perfect insouciant bow in back. My jeans are from Christel Morane, who is selling these sexy skinny jeans at the 100 Block in several colors. My handbag is GraceHaddington’s newest, and it includes a texture change HUD with 8 colors and an AO that allows you to wear the handbag in several poses without seeing it go through your body. I picked up my shoes from the other day and decided to wear them because Pill Kanto did such a great job!

My fresh look comes from PeachieMuah, who loves to add dimples and ruddiness to her faces to connote a healthful glow and youthfulness. Her skins are doll-like and precious but they still work on my rather longer face. My beautiful eyes are Isabelle Requiem’s featured product at Kustom9. I have been waiting for her to come out with new ones! Finally, my big fluffy hair comes from the master of feathered and fluffy locks, Kavar Cleanslate. I clicked around on his HUDs for quite a while to find this perfect blonde, pink-tinted look and had a good time imagining the possibilities. Hoppy Easter!
