I ran over to Templemore again today to take my photos because Luis has laid down some cool things. I found a great little house that I will be camping in (unbeknownst to Luis). The Mesh Body Addicts fair opens August 1, and I put together this outfit from several pieces from the Fair. Romi Dagostino has this darling top and shorts set, available in several colorways, featured at the Fair. I clicked around to find the colors I liked and wore the two together. With a bow on the front of the shorts, they are cute but definitely not girly. I matched up high heels for the Fair from Diamanda Allen that include a versatile color HUD and matched the studs to my awesome multi-layer necklace from Mirja Mills for We <3 RP. Aikea Reiko made awesome earrings for Shiny Shabby.

I couldn’t help but use Catwa Clip’s new Destiny head for the Mesh Body Addicts Fair again. I love trying different skins on the head to see how they will look. Everything comes out looking great! Today’s choice is a great applier from Nicole Button. With her handy makeup HUD, I was able to add a fresh look without being overdone. Kuranosuke Kamachi’s gorgeous locks for Tres Chic complete the look.

I have been thinking a lot more about serious issues lately because of the elections in the US and the tension with the police. I can only heed Gandhi’s words and face things with hope. SL provides a little joy and beauty and good distraction from all that, especially when you have great creations to show like this zigzag dress from ValentinaEvangelista for Shiny Shabby. Valentina always follows her own style and seems to find a joy in creating original new pieces with great colors (check out these zigzags) and sexy features. This top drops down so I wore an applier from one of Mariska Simons’ lingerie sets. Funky platform shoes from TomClaney include a great color-change HUD for different elements of the shoes. Aikea Reiko has created a lovely set of jewelry for Epiphany.

Ele Brandi has made this gorgeous applier for the Catwa mesh heads for Shiny Shabby. I tinted up the lips with the handy makeup HUD and found a great look to go with Mirja Mills’ beautiful hair for Hair Fair 2016. Mirja is unfailingly generous in her talents and time for events like Hair Fair. She is offering five beautiful styles for this year’s Hair Fair and a set of jewelry as a gift for any comers.

Hats seem to be Mirja’s theme this year and each hair comes with a beautifully-styled hat with additional colors offered via the hair tinting HUDs. You can color the hat, flowers, and band separately to create a beautiful look. The long hair with a straw hat is a perfect look for summer while the gorgeous curly ‘do (which looks an awful lot like my RL hair when it dries right I realized), is a great throwback look to the 70s but wonderful for today too.

Mirja tried her hand at a great looking mesh in two hats. This hat has a pretty hydrangea covering a low-tied bun.

And this mesh hat includes a cheerful striped hair band with pretty blousy flowers and is tied in the back with another ribbon (see my close up).

Finally, Mirja could not keep out her braided hair for Hair Fair, and this is a darling, side-tied look below a pretty wavy hat.

Dearly Beloved

I got teary-eyed like everyone else when I found out Prince had died. I grew up during his ascendancy—he was on my AM radio in my old Nova when I drove to work in high school. His album, 1999, was one of the first I bought when I read an outstanding interview in Rolling Stone (I was 13). When I first saw him in the video for “Little Red Corvette,” I was shocked by how sexy a man could be.

When I went to college in Minnesota, his live shows in the Cities were already reknowned. When he wrote, “Sometimes it snows in April,” I knew just what he was talking about (because it does up here). I am heartbroken that he passed after such a long winter—I am sure he would have greeted the spring with relief and happiness like the rest of us.

Best of all, Prince transcended race and gender and class more than anyone else. He didn’t run to LA but stayed in Minnesota, keeping his wealth there, and turn into a privileged fat cat, rather choosing to fight for the rights of artists to make an income and generously giving his artistry to other musicians. He loved women—sexually but also intellectually, spiritually, and of course, emotionally. He supported so many women artists (writing for them but also employing them) but also respected women. His masculinity was never threatened by women. And race kind of went away with Prince. The people who surrounded him were of all races and mixed, as he was.

By the way, my son was mortified when I blasted “Little Red Corvette” in the car yesterday while we were cruising down Lake Drive on our way home. He was doubly mortified when I explained that the song was full of sexual innuendo. Bahahaha!

This look has nothing and everything to do with Prince. Prince was, I think, about the future and imagined other lives and ways of being. So my girl here belongs on a space station. Start with the sexy dress from Unitedcolorsteam for ROMP, one that is sexy but even sexier on this otherworldly woman. I accessorized with a stellar necklace from AvaGardner Kungler and bangle from Mea Carnell, both for Shiny Shabby, which just opened. Senzati0n Domenitzo’s sexy gladiator pumps finish the look.

The real story here (besides my meandering about Prince) is the opening of Fantasy Faire. The sims are, as always, gorgeous and the generous content available with 100% donation to Relay for Life is incredible. MissAllSunday Lemon is offering three hairs in the Solar colorway as her donation, including this funky bob that has studs (which I made transparent with her HUD). Aikea Rieko is also at the Faire and debuting two sets of fantasy skins, one of which is inspired by galaxies of stars and comes in many different color combos. She also offers almost any kind of applier you can imagine and I chose to use the Logo Alex head, which shows the skin beautifully. I honestly think a sexy space girl like this would catch Prince’s eye.

Some of my friends in SL travel a lot in RL, for work or pleasure, and they have told me that the stability a home base in SL provides for them means more than they expected. Sitting in a hotel room, using the crappy wifi, sometimes it’s a balm to log in and see your comfy sofa and favorite art on the wall, right where you left it. I arranged a comfortable room with furnishings from Shiny Shabby. Some are gacha, like the great pieces from Kunst Himmel and the sofas and pieces from Marinestella and Serab, and some are just pieces you can purchase without chancing it, like Colleen Desmoulin’s sofa and mirror. Amazingly, they all fit together.

I wore a boho elegant outfit, pairing a translucent top from Poulet Koenkamp that includes a lovely set of textures and a great sheerness, with jeans from Paul Lapointe and Bastchild Lotus. These flares have been out a while but Paul has reconfigured the mesh to fit the Maitreya Lara body, and they fit like a glove, especially with the perfect L&B ass. I wore Aikea Reiko’s lovely jewelry for Shiny Shabby and new shoes from Senzati0n Domenitzo that she is, omg no, featuring in her own store and not at an event!

I have put Aleida Rhode’s Omega applier for the Devine II skin on the Logo head here and damn if it doesn’t look just spectacular. I think some skins with Omega appliers are not meant for the Logo head—the brows don’t extend far enough, the lips look overblown. With this skin, it’s perfect. Brown eyes from Ikon Innovia from Shiny Shabby and VivienMarli’s sleek long hair finish a beautiful look at home with this beautiful furniture.

A La Calma Verde

The calm green is the essence of mid-summer and the hue of this gorgeous dress from Aikea Reiko. Aikea has mastered the art of texture and color with her sexy fantasy looks and this is no exception with swirls and paisleys reaching up from the hem of the dress. Beautifully draped I front, the dress has a plunging back, cleverly held up by a cord around the waist. (Thank you for not showing plumber butt—I am kind of over that look.) I accessorized simply with a choker from Kathya Szczepanski, available at Shiny Shabby, and a back tattoo from Amber Swallowtail (which was about the tenth tattoo I tried on).

I had to wear Monicuzza Babenco’s applier for the LeLutka heads again. She has made this set for Shiny Shabby and I love the variations. I wore the same applier a couple days ago with a different LeLutka head and got a different look. I heard that people fear looking like “Stepford Wives” wearing a mesh head and yes, while it is noticeable that you have a mesh head on to many, not everyone looks the same. My beautiful red hair is one of Kuranosuke Kamachi’s exclusive looks for Summertime. I love this elegant, effortless look.

Gosh I love Stevie Wonder singing and the song is perfect for this look, which is smooth and sexy. Start with a minidress from Aikea Reiko in one of her fabulously shimmery fantasy ombre colors. I paired it with shoes from Glamistry, which he has revamped to fit Maitreya feet (yay) and includes his great versatile texture change HUD. Maxi Gossamer’s pretty necklace for Collabor88 completes the look.

My long wavy hair is Shylah Honey’s contribution to The Liaison Collaborative. I love how the textures run through the locks of hair, giving it movement, especially with the highlights. Awesome nail

The big story is, of course, my skin applier, which is Umazuma Metaluna’s exclusive for the Cosmetic Fair. Toned for ladies with darker complexions, it includes some really luscious makeups and is part of a gacha, so it’s wickedly inexpensive. I wear it on the Leda, which was probably my least favorite of the LeLutka heads until I put this skin on it. Now it all works with the luscious lips from Uma and her brilliant makeup.

I heard this Velvet Underground song while I was preparing the photos for this blog entry and thought she looked like a Stephanie. So Stephanie says you need to get over to Fantasy Collective and get this lovely dress form Kiddo Oh, make of her custom mesh with her gorgeous satiny textures, imprinted with a Celtic pattern at the waistline and cut up the side in a very sexy way. Paired with a gorgeous choker from LouLou Teichmann from Shiny Shabby and Senzati0n Domenitzo’s generous donation shoes for Fashion for Life, it’s a sexy look.

It’s also a fantasy look, made mostly so with this incredible skin from Aikeo Reiko that she is selling at Skin Fair. Aikeo never does anything mainstream though her work is incredibly popular. This fantasy skin is luscious and sexy as if for one of the alien girls Captain Kirk might seduce with the veins or cracks in the skin texture. I wore Marisa Karu’s gorgeous hair for Shiny Shabby in platinum to bring another touch of otherworldliness to the look and with the texture-change scripts in the hair band and flowers, made a lovely customized look.

In the Middle of Black and White

I assembled a black and white look today that is not really so black and white. First a cute minidress from Aikea Reiko, who always offers her mesh pieces in tons and tons of great textures, including this great pinstripe. My jewelry from Maxi Gossamer for Shiny Shabby has texture change options for each feather and the beads so you can assemble a funky look in a variety of color combos. My shoes are Glamistry’s 21Shoe exclusive for TODAY ONLY. It includes two awesome textures in gold and silver, which you can mix and match to make an awesome look. Of course, I chose all silver for the almost black-and-white look.

Aleida Rhode is offering this awesome hand-drawn skin at Skin Fair. It comes with appliers for everything and options for brow color and style plus freckles or not. These are more natural freckles than many, covering the body as well as the face. I put on glossy lipstick from Constance Daehlie to up my look. Queue Marlowe’s poofy floofy corkscrew curls complete the look, and I chose one of her ombre mixes to make it really pop.

Winter Grace

I snuck over to Prides Crossing again to take photos because it’s so peaceful there with the falling snow and the beautiful landscaping. I have assembled a comfy look with a great mesh sweater/skirt set from Miffyhoi Rosca, who has made it all one piece in lovely soft pastels. I paired it with great boots that come with a terrific texture change HUD that allows all sorts of variations from Alliana Petunia, which she is selling exclusively at FROST this month.

Bubbles Clawtooth made this fabulous hair with a knit cowl wrapped around it for Collabor88. She includes a texture change HUD not only for the hair colors but also for the cowl, but I opted for the default white because it suited the outfit. I had purcahsed this great skin from Aikea Reiko during Skin Addiction’s Black Friday and I am first getting a chance to show it. With its warm tones, beautiful brows and fantastic eye makeup, it’s a gorgeous skin for fantasy or for a peaceful walk in the woods.

It’s probably time to spoil yourself a little for the holidays. You have been through Black Friday and Cyber Monday and even Afterthought Tuesday (and wearing those dangerously high heels while you shopped). My skin is one of the collection at NatalieWells’ shop that I picked up while I was doing the Skin Addiction Black Friday. I love this skin—the tone, the lips, the eyes, the brows, the body. Granted, you can barely see the eyes in this look because of the dramatic cut that Mirja Mills has just put out. But you see enough of the smoky, classy face to get the idea.

I imagined a very well-to-do, well-dressed lady about town when I made this look and GraceHaddington’s newest sheath with jacket is what made the look. Grace does textures like no one else I have ever met. She combines and layers them on mesh pieces with amazing proportions and shadows and depths that create beautiful, high fashion looks. This skill is also noticeable in my stiletto pumps that Grace made. Add to that that each of these outfits comes with a texture-change HUD and the pumps have nine various textures, not just an in-world color change. And everything is priced ridiculously low for what you get as far as artistry and versatility. Santa baby, hurry down the chimney tonight, and bring me more of these gorgeous fashions!
