Ariadna Garrigus made this cute little shorts and top set so I had to get over to Baja Bay and enjoy the sunshine. With a texture-change HUD for the shorty shorts and the tied-in-back HUD, the outfit is a sexy look for the summer, especially accessorized with dangly earrings from AvaGardner Kungler for Shiny Shabby and a fun handbag from Aikea Reiko. These strappy heels are from the last Mesh Body Addicts event from Klari55a, who has been doing great fit-to-mesh-feet shoes for a while. They come with all sorts of color choice options on a HUD.

Otyebis has made this gorgeous skin for Shiny Shabby this round for the Catwa heads and it wore beautifully on the Sarah head. I added some dark dark green liner and tinted up the lips using the Catwa HUD. I love that Otyebis includes a body applier HUD for various bodies with the face applier. I was able to do a Maitreya push-up look and it went on fabulously. She also includes shorter looking lashes (an applier) with the skin but I opted for some on Catwa’s HUD. My darling hair is Bubbles Clawtooth’s offering for N21 this month, a long style pulled up in a bun with the option to purchase without or with the long bangs.

Coachella is coming up, and I am pretty excited because they have a pretty good website with live performances on it. My partner in SL lives kind of close to the event so some day I hope I can actually go and mingle among the kids. (We’ll likely be the very oldest people there.) My weekly music dude, Clark at Noon Pacific, has a little page up with recommendations with a guide to Coachella, which includes Christine and the Queens and one of their songs I particularly like.

I remixed my Coachella look with some recent event items, including a darling top from Kinu Mayako for 100 Block that holds particular interest for me because I have been crocheting a lot of granny squares lately. It’s sexy and bohemian and matched Paul Lapointe’s and Bastchild Lotus’ recently redone capris, fitted to several mesh bodies. I accessorized with a darling necklace from Ors Quan and Sigifaust’s great ring gacha set that includes a texture change HUD for any and all of the rings as a rare, both available at Shiny Shabby. Glamistry recently came out with these higher than high heel boots that include a stiletto heel (which in retrospect would be impossible to wear at Coachella but look cute with this outfit).

I chose Oytebis’ skin for Shiny Shabby because I thought the smudged eye makeup under the eyes was idea for a girl who is wandering Coachella at all hours. It’s a few long days and nights outside and who has time to attend to her makeup? The great thing about Oytebis’ skins is that she includes appliers for nearly every kind of mesh head with them as well as system skins, all in one HUD (except TMP, which you can request from the HUD). A floppy hat to keep out the sun from Rucy Byron comes with a texture change HUD and fits on Mina Nakamura’s hair perfectly. The two designers hooked up to offer this great look at Epiphany, and I am glad they did because it’s almost impossible to get a hat to fit hair—this time they did it for us!

‘Twas…–KittyCatS &Friends Advent Calendar, Day 24

‘Twas the night before Christmas….

It’s actually the day before Christmas and the final day of the KittyCats & Friends Advent Calendar, and you who are fans knows what that means: a beautiful exclusive KittyCat will be given as a gift to all clickers. The lovely Snow Cap is a pretty kitty, and you can birth it like any KittyCat and breed as well.

My wonderful partner designed the coat on the KittyCat and this is what she wrote:

“We love using snowflakes as a way to decorate our winter gift cats. They remind us of the uniqueness of each individual who is in our Second Life Community. Every person we meet, like every snowflake nature makes, is completely unique!

Each snowflake on your special Kitty represents each person you will meet in your life. Every one is different, special, and one of a kind.

You will notice that there is one snowflake on the cat’s body which has a diamond on it. This is the reminder that in a world of snowstorms where you can feel like you are one of many, YOU are unique. The little snowflake in the cat’s ear also has a diamond on it, as a reminder to listen through the noise of life for those special messages that are all around is. And finally, the cat’s eyes shine like diamonds too, a reminder to see the good in each person, and offer them our best, remembering that they too are special.”

I brought her to the Winter Sim at Kalamata for a few photos in my own snow-white outfit. I started with this beautiful knit dress from Ilaya Allen for FROST that comes in several colors and *feels* soft and luxe. Then I added the fur bolero from Kit Ragu for Shiny Shabby, which also comes in several colors as just as a shell as you see here or with a sweater beneath that includes a texture-change HUD. Darling little mittens from PetiteAnaiis Eleonara for FROST include a special body alpha that you wear to allow your arms to show so you can remove your hands (when you are wearing a mesh body). Senzati0n Domenitzo’s thigh high boots are a sexy winter delight for this outfit and also available at Shiny Shabby.

Otyebis has made a lovely skin for Shiny Shabby that can be used on several mesh heads. I tried it on the Logo Alex and was not pleased with the outcome but on the Catwa Annie head, it’s very pretty. I spent a lot of time trying different makeups with it but opted to go with the lipstick in Catwa Clip’s HUD, dialing down the blend a bit. Empyreanforge has made a lovely seasonal necklace for FROST in both gold and silver, a festive look full of charms. Mina Nakamura has this sexy tumble of waves available at Shiny Shabby this round, available in two lengths in the box and with her great textures.

Fall is a time of a lot of running around. School’s going again, the harvest is coming in (and if you think that’s silly, it’s not—I have a fridge full of vegetables I have to do something with), the garden has to be cleared, leaves have to be raked. And meanwhile we are clinging to the last few warm days for a long time with evening descending ever earlier. So it’s hard to sit still and just… relax and enjoy.  I ran around SL shopping in this outfit from Cecilia Blachere, who does amazing textures on mesh. Check out the suede on this skirt and the beautiful knit of this sweater. I accessorized with new pieces from Monicuzza Babenco, including a darling handbag which comes with a HUD to change the inside part so you have a nice neutral bag with optional details to change.

Kuranosuke Kamachi’s beautiful new style tops this look in a very lovely way. I am trying another skin made for Logo heads on the new Chloe. This is the skin offered by Otyebis for Shiny Shabby and I would say it lies on the Chloe head in a very interesting way. There is a lot to love—the pores on the skin, the skin tone, the nicely drawn brows (though not their placement), the pretty lips. But something is just not working quite right. I tried to make it work for me—changing out eyes, clicking different lashes on the HUD, but I think the nature of how these skins are made, they want a tiny, widely spaced round eye and narrow nose, which this head doesn’t quite have.

Sweet Caroline is feeling free and easy with this pretty long shirt from Miffyhoi Rosca, which she is featuring at Shiny Shabby this round. Made from fitted mesh, it fit over my Maitreya body pretty darn well and came in several lovely colors. I matched it up with the gorgeous found-object necklace from AvaGardner Kungler that she is offering at the Cosmopolitan Room and darling t-strap pumps from JourdanMcMillan, also available at Shiny Shabby.

My messy braids are the beautiful creation of Mina Nakamura for Kustom9 and have lovely face-framing, growing-out bangs with a gorgeous texture (which looks like our Caroline is growing out some dark ends). I popped the color of the necklace in my eyes with peepers from Soleil Reid. And Ensorcelante has made a custom set of skins for Shiny Shabby which include a pretty spectacular set of appliers-in-one HUD with mesh faces (Slink, LeLutka, Genesis, andTMP)  and then bodies (Belleza, Maitreya, Banned, Lena, and Slink).
