Once again MadPea Productions is coming out with an event that will solve the problem of “what am I going to do in SL this evening?” Opening August 21 at noon slt, the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior is another one of their terrific and beautiful events. Purchase their kit for 1000L and you get this fantastic outfit created by Datrip Blackbart and then you wander the Andes looking for treasure, kind of like Indiana Jones without the snakes. And of course, there is treasure at the end, when you receive the prizes from creators such as Sway Dench and Pucca Firecaster. As always, the play is incredibly creative and uses all the powers of SL for entertainment including the experiences features of SL, and the take-home content is from top notch creators. They are also selling Inca Golden Coins so you can get early access to the sims and not have to fight the lag (and Kiana Writer will be extra super nice to you too). I imagined my own adventurer to be a sort of wild beautiful woman, so I wore AvengeStore’s beautiful new applier for the Mesh Body Addicts Fair—a fair freckled mature skin perfectly suited for redheads or maybe brunettes. AvengeStore was smart in making an additional freckle tattoo for mesh bodies, which I was able to use to make a whole look. The pretty earrings I wear are one of the prizes, made by Natalee Oodles. Queue Marlowe’s new wild hair inspired me and I posed at one of the eight (!) sims of the Amazon River, created by YT Recreant. It’s another beautiful adventuring spot and open to non-RPers for exploration (though their RP seems pretty darn involved and interesting). Take a ride on the boat on the river and see the lush scenery.

I recently redecorated a part of my home to enjoy some of the fantastic furniture and décor I was seeing at recent events. Kalia Firelyte’s great rug and fireplace from ROMP provide the center of the grouping with chairs from ValiantCo featured at Collabor88 and Fameshed. Sway Dench has made drawers and rugs for this month’s colorful theme at The Liaison Collaborative. Gachas from Kunst  Himmel and Anaisterpellie and DanielEstro provided fine accessories. I want to note that Anaisterpellie/DanielEstro’s pieces are usually based on a white palette BUT because they leave them mod, a person can recolor, retexture or just rip pieces apart as they like to decorate (please note the wreath on the wall came off one of their pieces and I recolored elements of their other work). Thank you for letting me mod!

To relax at home I am wearing a romantic gown from Aikea Reiko that comes in many luscious colors (as I don’t think Aikea sees any problem with giving you the rainbow and then some). As always, the textures are rich and beautiful with lush shades and ombres. Caelan Hancroft’s choker/collar from ROMP (which includes texture change for the metals and the center stone) is a lovely piece of jewelry or, if needed, open collar for other kinds of play.

My beautiful face is Gael Streeter and ElleEtGance’s mesh head collaboration (which I will call the “GA:EG Adriana Mesh Head” because that’s the brand name, regardless that it is hard to search and clumsy to type). With a very user-friendly HUD that was plug n play (which I will show in a subsequent blog post), layers for makeup, and most important to me, Omega compatibility, I think I am going to find myself wearing this head more and more. It does include expressions which, I find, are not as versatile as the Logo or LeLutka heads but as expressive as the Catwa head. I wish the makeups had the translucency control that other heads have. However, I found they went on lickety split, and I didn’t have the kind of rezzing issues I often have with the Catwa head.

Most importantly, the face is aesthetically pleasing to me. The cheekbones are a bit high but having adjusted my head length up and down and front to back, I was able to find a look that was pleasing. I did not have to mess with my mesh eyes very much as I do with Catwa and even Logo (thank you, thank you) and I found I could wear this skin from Sawsan Secretspy without problems when I wore the Omega converter. The head fit my Maitreya body to a T. It seems the creators have thought of almost everything one will need but I will keep working with it and tell you more.

The Knot

After Christmas is always a little melancholy. The festivities of the day shroud the fact that some can’t be with you—a loved one, a family member. You might go to bed alone at the end of the evening, still a little tipsy on brandy alexanders, tummy full, and think about those you have missed. My bedroom is the perfect place for cozy reminiscing. With Sway Dench’s romantic bedroom set for Uber, including a bunch of texture sets and metals and romantic animations, I find solace in my aloneness. My fireplace set from Paco Pooley for Shiny Shabby also provides warmth in my bedroom on the upper floor of Cory Edo’s skybox for Collabor88.

Romantic reminiscing is sexier with lingerie from Sands Leavitt’s exclusive for Uber, a custom mesh body shaper created for several mesh bodies and in the standard system shapes. With gossamer side panels and intricate lace leg openings, the piece is gorgeous. Accompanying it is a robe with lace sleeves and hem, a perfect top for wearing the piece around the house.

MissAllSunday Lemon has finally embraced HUDs for hair coloring! I almost hugged her across the grid when I received this new hair with my inventory-busting HUDs, a great updo for casual or romantic wear with tendrils slipping out about the face. She has recreated over 100 textures and included roots with her colors. I chose Steffi Villota’s soft and lovely skin for the Logo Alex mesh head for my romantic, longing look. With subtle lipgloss from Alaska Metropolitan’s new HUDs (that incorporate the revised Omega zoning), I have a look that is soft and beautiful.

A Drop of Happiness

Fall is rolling in with cooler temperatures. The leaves are piling up outside and while the sun is shining, the day is ending quickly now. So it’s important to grab my drop of happiness whenever I can and remember with every fall into winter, there later comes a spring to summer. I have furnished Trace Osterham’s great new skybox with new finds and pieces that I have custom colored using SL’s tinting. Big strategy for me for decorating is using tints on mod furniture and builds. If a piece of furniture is not mod, I am not a happy person. Half of what you see in these photos was tinted that way, including the cushions of Piraiyah Novikov’s daybed available exclusively in his store at Flux Sur Mer. I paired it with ArtizanMesh’s awesome chair for Chapter Four and Sofi Trenkin’s lovely décor piece that I picked up a month or so ago. Clever pillows from Sway Dench’s gacha at Geeks n Nerds add some cute humor as well as Piraiyah Novikov’s fun Simon Says game for Collabor88 on his gothic table for Gothic Diva.

My dress is Ariadna Garrigus’ gorgeous look for the Boho Culture Fair, which opens tomorrow. She includes the very folk art wedges with them. My bestie is a grayhound from Garvie Garzo’s collection of pups at the Chapter Four. I am so glad to see her in these events because she’s a great artist! Behind me is Tyrek’s collection of potions on a shelf for Chapter Four as well and the awesome RL work of Joe Mainskreet through the avatar hibeebu at Gen Neutral. I saw the pieces on an ad and had to come get a few because they were mounted nicely and fit so well in with the mood here.

Again, I custom-colored a piece from one of Piraiyah Novikov’s gachas, added Anaisterpellie’s lovely table, candles, and rug for the gacha at The Epiphany, and popped up Joe’s artwork. Again, I have Sway Dench’s darling pillows on the chair (making <3). Below. I custom colored pieces of Piraiyah Novikov’s desk and chairs from gachas at his store (I had a big of a night there with the gachas—everything is so pretty and Piraiyah is smart enough to leave things modify so I can do this) and put my laptop win by Surrealia Anatine from The Epiphany on the desk. My doggie from Garvie, whom I have decided to name Herman, stands close.

Bubbles Clawtooth just came out with this casual but cute high ponytail with or without bangs (Saturday and Sunday) and I paired it with one of Inka Mexicola’s lovely skins on my own, familiar system face. Both are available at Kustom9. My necklace was a gacha pull at The Epiphany from Isabeau Baragula. First time’s a charm!

There’s nothing like a cozy, sexy bedroom for a woman in SL. This great bed with color change sheets, pillows, blanket and headboard from JianSL at ROMP has a bunch of sexy animations for bedroom fun. Sway Dench has made a bunch of furniture and accessories in black and white that are EXCLUSIVE for the Mix Event this month so if you want them, get over there (and check their HUD for other great buys).

My sexy corset, which is topless and pantless (which I *mostly* hid) is Iki Akira’s exclusive at ROMP and honestly, it fits great over the Belleza Isis mesh body with few alterations. Sexy bowed platforms from Nardya Rousselot are one of two pairs she is featuring at ROMP and they come in sizes to fit Slink, Maitreya AND Belleza.

I AM wearing the Belleza Isis mesh body. Can’t you tell from my cute little can peeking out from beneath my corset? For matchy match, I have Shyla Diggs’ newest version of Amelia, a lovely lush set of skins she did exclusively for the Mix Event. My long (and modest) wavy hair is Shylah Honey’s newest for the Mix Event, and it comes with all their fantastic colors!

Sway Dench is making me want to sit in my garden—for one last time. I am giving my parcel at Dream State to Jaynine Scarborough for Thousand Rooms. As Jaynine said, things change and come and go, which reminded me of this George Harrison/Beatle’s song. I put Sway’s Indian-influenced bench and candles down and relaxed in the sunshine, considering how life flows with me and without me. Of course, I had to do it as a sort of garden nymph in Mariska Simon’s pretty spring bra and panty set, which comes complete on appliers for Slink or Omega (which works great with Maitreya and the Omega translator). Sexy high heels with a bow at the ankle are new at Senzati0n Domenitzo’s store.

Umazuma Metaluna is offering a beautiful set of skins with gorgeously drawn, deep set eyes in a variety of makeups at the Arcade. This is a chance to get a buy-in on her unique and beautiful look at an inexpensive (and tradeable!) price. Bubbles Clawtooth is also offering one of her great looks at the Arcade for springtime beauty, this being one of the rares without bangs and with an essential hair color set. I don’t get to show everything I enjoy but this time I want to share with you, my dear readers, this darling little avatar from Hiko Nino, which is one of a set she made for the TAG Gacha. A member of the Skin Addiction group, who had spent way too much money on the gachas in this event, sent me this avatar and I loved putting it on and wearing it. With an AO built just for the avatar (which includes a ton of great poses), it’s fun, hilarious, silly, goofy, and all the stuff that contributes to the play we like so much in SL. The rare edition also allows the choice of colors for the avatar and the star. I posed among Sway Dench’s topiaries for today’s Fifty Linden Friday. The flowers have color change in the menu script. Yay!

The TAG Gacha itself is a pretty interesting set-up. You go to their parcel and click for a HUD from a sign and then you walk into the circus tent to have it activated. (It took me a bit to understand this because I wasn’t reading the script text in chat as I should have been.) It’s not entirely apparent how it all works so I am giving you the hints here. Then the HUD uses the new features of SL to teleport you to all the participants to see their gachas. This is beneficial in a few ways: 1. you have to see all the gachas so all the creators get a crack at your attention and a chance for you to see their store, 2. you aren’t stuck going to one laggy sim and fighting to get in. Once you fill out the whole card (and there are a lot of great creators participating), you get a chance to go their bonus room, which has more gachas from other creators. The biggest downfall of the event is the adherence to a circus theme. How many more circus things does a person need? They should have let the creators choose what they wanted to sell in the gachas.

Poor Dear Silly Spring

It’s coming! It’s coming! The sun is out, the snow is melting, the world is puddle wonderful! I admit I was starting to doubt with the many inches of snow, the never-ending unrelenting cold, and the fact that a groundhog bit the mayor of a town in my state. I know I am overdoing it with the flowers here, but spring is coming and I can’t wait!

TheAnnex is offering this lovely dress among others in their gacha at The Luck of the Irish Gacha that Depraved Nation is holding. There are a kazillion gachas full of all sorts of awesome stuff like this, so bring lots of change. My shoes are HauteCoutureDesign’s original mesh set, and they come with a HUD with six wonderful springtime colors with a darling t-strap design and a wedge heel.

I outfitted my parcel with this great gazebo from Winter Thorn, which also comes with a beautiful cozy fireplace, though I opted to use the more open one so I could take in the promise of spring in the air. I dropped in minor decorations from Sway Dench and a hanging mobile I picked up at Origami by gin Fhang.

Skin Fair opened at midnight and the sims were INSTANTLY jam packed. (Find all the details here.) You can find this gorgeous skin from Hart Larsson on Sim 1. As usual, he decorates the skin with a cateye liner and lovely lips and features, all hand-drawn and refined. And since Hart is a programmer himself, he managed to unlock every kind of major applier, including that for the Belleza body, so you can rest assured you are PXL top to bottom. My hair is one of Thora Charron’s newest, a lovely romantic look with a twisted lock that pulls to the back and beautiful waves, all with her clever texture-change HUD. And a branch of blossoms from Siestabril Nitely, also from Origami, completes the look and brings spring, finally, to my blog!

The Simple Life

I have a bit of cabin fever. I need to just get out, hit the road, do something. So I suggested to Mr. Beresford that we take to the road. I imagined a life of leisure, of thoughtful moments and quiet repose. A life where we could enjoy the fresh air and the flowers and the springtime. Where I could wear flowers in my hair (Bubbles Clawtooth’s fabulous look from the Arcade) and flirty ruffled dresses (ValentinaEvangelista’s specifically, from Shiny Shabby) and lounge around.

He was amenable but when he saw our proposed living space (a great camper from Wavie Haller from the Arcade), he snorted and said, “Your *shoes* will not fit in there.”

“But honey,” I said, “We can go through our things and sort out what we don’t need to take. It’s time to simplify our lives.”

Of course, we went back and forth. His programming books, of course, had to go along and well, all my fiction (see the huge pile of books from DanielEstro and Anaisterpellie from Shiny Shabby). He wanted to take all his computers along but I said no, we have other things to occupy our time. (See the checkers from DanielEstro and Anaisterpellie, the trivia game and cornhole from Wavie Haller from the Arcade, and the candles and incense from MadPea next to the very cozy bed in the camper from Wavie). (And yes, two fit cozily in that bed.)

Of course, I had just gotten the new collections from the Arcade of the Cupcake Bunnies from Sway Dench and the Cats Out of the Bag from Trace Osterham, so I wanted to bring them along because they were so cute, which caused quite a fuss between us, but I managed to shrink them up and put them on a shelf or two. He grumbled and tried to sneak in an extra monitor (or two or three) but I put the kibosh on that.

We sorted, we argued, we hemmed, we hawed. After all our negotiations, we realized we would have to pull an additional trailer behind us for everything we simply couldn’t do without (including, yes, my shoes). But we did manage to pack up a couple boxes of things to discard….

An Extravagant Journey

It’s the new year! Yay! We made it! Amazingly, my biggest resolution is to drink more water and get back to exercising because the cookies this season did me in. I may be backing off my blog a bit because I have a new project in the works that will be taking considerable time in the next couple months. I saw this gorgeous dress from ValentinaEvangelista on someone else and realized it sported my name. I am sure that is simply a coincidence but what a lovely one! The dress comes in several versions—a solid long dress as I show, a long dress with a print skirt and a shorter dress. All come with a texture change HUD for swapping out the belt color. Valentina does her own mesh and over time it’s gotten tighter, more well-fitted, more wonderfully textured, but still as fashionable as her vision always was.

I grabbed Brandon Papp’s skin at the We <3 RP event right before it closed this round and I am so I glad I did. Brandon makes skins that look substantially different from others, with an ethereal, fantasy look to them. My bodacious hair is Bubbles Clawtooth’s newest for Fameshed, a big ‘do with lots of personality, aptly named. I love this hair actually. It’s full of life and verve. Perfect for the first day of a brand new year!
