Shorts Weather

It’s not quite shorts weather. In fact, it’s still abysmally cold outside. I have been going through my plant catalogs without a lot of enthusiasm this year because spring has been slow in coming this year. So what am I thinking wearing shorts?

Shorts Weather

Lynaja Bade has the answer with this darling outfit—wear tights with the shorts!  This serves two purposes actually—warms the legs and saves your knees from the dirt when you are kneeling down poking at your irises and carefully teasing out the old plants from last year from the tender new shoots. I love the textures in the outfit–the old-fashioned print on the blouse, the wooly tights. This outfit is dirt cheap (no pun intended) at her store right now with several other great things on sale as well.

I am wearing one of Sophia Rossen’s new shapes. I realize she includes a styling card with each shape, and my choice of skin is not the one she chose. (In fact, she gives you a whole set of information–where to get skin, eyes, and hair.) Nevertheless, it’s a fine shape with a lovely face and works well with Tuli Asturias’ newest skin, which is another home run. Is it a terrific shape or a great skin that makes me look good here? I don’t know, and does it matter because I look cute.

Wearing Warm

My friend KK IM’d me the other day and told me she needed recommendations for things to wear for skating, holiday shopping, keeping warm, and generally being a snow bunny. So this will be the first of a series I will do on “Wearing Warm.”

Wearing Warm

We all know that SL finds its home on computers spread out in offices in warmer climates. In fact, a lot of the residents of SL never see snow. They find the whole idea of snow exotic and fun. So let me tell you about how it gets squeaky in REALLY cold weather, how it is fluffy or slushy, how it can drop in big glorious glops of flakes or in dry flurries of twinkledust.

Wearing Warm

I pulled out an older outfit from Myllie Writer, one she had marketed last year (and is now in her discount area ;)) to show you one possible ensemble. I have always loved this sweater/skirt set, and it comes in several combinations of colors so you can wear many color combos of sweaters and tights (and at a reasonable price). In poking around Persona today to confirm it was still available, I also purchased a ton of poses, some of which you see here.

Wearing Warm

I am showing this outfit with hair named after ME. I just get so happy when that happens. And I feel so honored Truth Hawks would honor me with his great work. (Je suis arrivee!) This tousled ponytail compliments the casualness of the outfit and reminds me how windblown hair can get in the winter.

Wearing Warm

A scarf from Antonia Marat and darling furry boots from Lexi Morgan keep me warm and a luscious skin from Monicuzza Babenco (named “Snow”—go figure), make me feel all snuggly.
