The best part of living in SL is living like you are in the Lives of the Rich and Famous. Today I prepared for a dinner party out in my conservatory from Cory Edo for Uber, With tables and chairs Cory did for the same event (with a ton of great textures as you can see and wonderful poses, PG and Adult), I made my tables with a couple of Kaerri Rae’s great table settings and some wine. Sash Arabello has a great gacha at Shiny Shabby with pieces for the traveler including the rug I show and the pretty candles. Cube Republic is featuring the bonsai and hosta at Shiny Shabby as well.

For my dinner party, I wore one of Poulet Koenkamp’s new and sexy dresses, this one featured at her store, and accessorized with a little choker she has at the Chapter Four. I love that Poulet loves colorand  the geometric cutouts on this dress add a little interest. Fringed heels from Fhara Acacia for the Dressing Room include a color change HUD for different versions.

Kuranosuke Kamachi’s long sexy hair for Uber is a perfect accompaniment to this look. Sawsan Secretspy is featuring this skin applier at the Designer Circle and I am really impressed with how great it looks on the Catwa Destiny head (my favorite).

Spring is coming so I don’t think it’s entirely unbelievable that I would want to walk out into my garden in my dainties, especially when they are as beautiful as the lingerie Erratic Rain makes. She has released this gorgeous robe for Uber which can be worn open, as I show it, or closed via the HUD. In colors that match her lingerie perfectly (here I wear a bra and panties set she previously made), it’s a beautiful gift for the lady in your life or yourself. Senzati0n Domenitzo recently released these classic pumps in her store and has made available a set of spring colors. I found my garden perfect with Cory Edo’s collection for Uber, a small ivy-covered house with surrounding garden, complete with lighted trees, stone pavers and a beautifully textured terrain. She includes some beautifully-conceived garden furniture for sale as well, including this peacock bench.

The Se7en Project opens in a couple days and it includes some new and old designers. I am kind of interested to see what the mix will be, especially after pulling out this lovely hair bow from Frangipani Flow that comes with a HUD to manage the color of the bow and the individual blossoms. Shyla Diggs has made a new applier for the Catwa heads, this gorgeous look for spring which she is featuring at Uber. As always, her artistry and delicate hand with makeups comes through on the skins. Carina Larsen’s beautiful updo is an elegant top to this beautiful spring look.

This is one of those mega blog entries that just about puts me under. The RFL Home & Garden Expo is packed full of amazing things and I want to show them all, so I crammed select pieces into a gorgeous little treehouse from Kathy Greymoon. My living room is comprised of donation items for RFL, including an industrial table from Bethesa Hancroft, a rug from Tess Spargel, an original painting from Sarah Gantt, a gacha polaroid display from xMister Dash, a lovely Japanese lute from Ryo Ixxel, and one of the darling yoga frogs from Garvie Garzo. My plush sofa and chair are ValiantCo’s contribution to Fameshed this month.

Slide around the corner and find Aki Shichiroji’s orchid terrarium on Loz Hyde’s Paris-themed chest of drawers with one of jiuis32’s full perm frames. There is a whole section of full perm items at the Expo this year, which I spent a fair amount of time perusing. Sometimes I get frustrated and want my own frame with my own texture or to create gifts for friends and full perm can fulfill that need. (It’s not just for reselling!) I found quite a few things that struck my fancy!

Chic Aeon has made a collection of book lover pieces for her gacha at the Expo, and I rather liked the idea of books piled around my house (read or to-be-read). Propped on top is a sunny pitcher of daffodils from Chiana0 and Sisterbutta’s hunt item. I want to note that everything I show contributes, if not 100% donation to RFL, at least a portion. This house is built from love.

My dining room is a place of comfort and joy. I used Liz Gaelich’s gateleg table, (which comes in closed and open versions) as my main table, flanking it with Cory Edo’s chairs for Collabor88. Sisterbutta’s whimsical and beautiful floating paper cranes serve as my centerpiece. Chiana0 made the lovely dark wood hutch and plates that line the hutch. I always like chairs as a piece of art and décor so Akahata’s awesome skyline chair and Sisterbutta’s lovely neoclassical armchair decorate as well as provide seating. DanielEstro always makes his pieces in grays with modify so I feel free to color pieces as I see fit and I warmed up his “Hope” wreath with color. A pretty lamp and wall hanging from Isabelli Anatine bookends the scene with Kasslina’s exquisite and unique antler chandelier lighting the space. Another pretty rug from Tess Spargel gathers it all together.

Shiny Shabby opens today with their first anniversary round and I look forward to showing more items in the next few weeks but I couldn’t help donning Sora Tatham’s denim-based dress. With a texture-change HUD included, you can switch up the top and scarf for different color combos. Boots from Katat0nik Pidgeon fit men or women and are completely modifiable for size as they are not rigged (whew). Elikapeka Tiramisu is also joining in on the fun for the first anniversary with this full bob for Shiny Shabby.

I got my hands on the new Omega-ready Sadie head from Maximillion Grant that he has been promising his pleading customers for a few months. It’s finally done! Since Max had to retrofit his HUDs to be Omega ready and redo all the layers, it took some time. I tried Monicuzza Babenco’s new Logo applier for the Alex head on this one with mixed results. I think we are going to have to wait for Sadie-themed skins to come out for it to look good. For example, Moni compensated for Alex’s full lips by making them thinner but on the thinner lips of the Sadie, it doesn’t look the best. I will keep experimenting, dear readers. Just get yourself to the RFL Home & Garden Expo and donate til it hurts!

The Knot

After Christmas is always a little melancholy. The festivities of the day shroud the fact that some can’t be with you—a loved one, a family member. You might go to bed alone at the end of the evening, still a little tipsy on brandy alexanders, tummy full, and think about those you have missed. My bedroom is the perfect place for cozy reminiscing. With Sway Dench’s romantic bedroom set for Uber, including a bunch of texture sets and metals and romantic animations, I find solace in my aloneness. My fireplace set from Paco Pooley for Shiny Shabby also provides warmth in my bedroom on the upper floor of Cory Edo’s skybox for Collabor88.

Romantic reminiscing is sexier with lingerie from Sands Leavitt’s exclusive for Uber, a custom mesh body shaper created for several mesh bodies and in the standard system shapes. With gossamer side panels and intricate lace leg openings, the piece is gorgeous. Accompanying it is a robe with lace sleeves and hem, a perfect top for wearing the piece around the house.

MissAllSunday Lemon has finally embraced HUDs for hair coloring! I almost hugged her across the grid when I received this new hair with my inventory-busting HUDs, a great updo for casual or romantic wear with tendrils slipping out about the face. She has recreated over 100 textures and included roots with her colors. I chose Steffi Villota’s soft and lovely skin for the Logo Alex mesh head for my romantic, longing look. With subtle lipgloss from Alaska Metropolitan’s new HUDs (that incorporate the revised Omega zoning), I have a look that is soft and beautiful.

The Waiting

The lover who waits. She bathes, dresses, and listens to the soft music, expecting her lover. Her chosen lingerie is, of course, from Mariska Simons, the queen of lingerie in SL, who is now converting some of her older pieces and making all of her new pieces with appliers. This outfit, which includes appliers for every body you can imagine as well as Omega, is a case in point of sexiness combined with new technology. Paired with Darling Monday’s shoes for the Mix Event, it’s a bold but sexy look. Lounging on Cory Edo’s modernist furniture for Uber makes the wait more comfortable.

Her skin is a combo of Aleida Rhode’s newest skin available at her mainstore with appliers for everything but the kitchen sink with eyeshadows from Izzie Button and lipstick from Carrie Janick. I am kind of digging the ability to mix things up this way on the LeLutka mesh heads, though I will say it was a bigger challenge finding eyeshadows I liked. I loved these dark eyes from Eleri Catlyn for my waiting woman. I wish more creators made darker, rather than lighter, eyes. Thora Charron’s long wavy sexy new hair in a bold color is the crowning touch.

I heard this song today, and it was so laid back and lovely, it reminded me of a pretty sunset at the beach, so I rezzed Cory Edo’s latest gorgeous set for the Fameshed third anniversary and had a lovely evening taking photos and enjoying the breeze and waves. The set includes elements for a wedding including the lovely arch you see here (that comes with or without sash and flowers), lanterns and hanging baskets on poles to decorate the way, and chairs with texture change sashes (or can be used without).

A pretty summer dress from Ariadna Garrigus was the call for the day. The dress comes with a texture change HUD offering four versions, including a black and a taupe dress and two flowered versions. HauteCoutureDesign’s pretty little flats for the Tres Chic event include a texture change HUD to allow six colors and metal choice and fit the Slink flat foot. Maxi Gossamer is offering this cheerful necklace in a long and short version for Collabor88.

Alice Demonia has made this lovely full mesh hair for the Thrift Shop, which is priced at a discount as the exclusive piece for the event. It includes a very full HUD of colors (this was just the natural colors and I was amazed) and gorgeous textures. Sawsan Secretspy offered this absolutely lovely skin for Mother’s Day this weekend at a discount but it’s certain to still be found in her shop. Sawsan has appliers for nearly every mesh body part as well (like the Maitreya body and Slink feet I am wearing). What a beautiful beachy look for sweet Melissa.

Decorating Help

It’s time for spring cleaning and redecorating so I picked up a ton of prims and started setting some new ones down. The sofa and chair include color change for the upholstery and texture change for the optional pillows and quilt. The chest has the same texture change for the blanket. I spent a good hour clicking colors in and out, prepared to surprise Mr. Beresford when he got home, especially after I decorated with Cory’s artwork and wood wall art and Kunst Himmel’s rug and custom-colored Max Graf’s mesh curtains. I knew he would be so surprised!

I put on a pretty dress from Vitamingirl from Shiny Shabby that comes in several looks, all gorgeously ethnic with embroidery and a lovely cotton top detailed with buttons and lops. I also custom-colored my sandals from TeamRedgrave with their great HUD. Pretty jewelry from Plurabelle Laszlo added the finishing touch to my look.

Truth Hawks’ newest ‘do added a touch of casual elegance to my look, especially with Sawsan Secretspy’s latest skin for Designer Circle. She has recently introduced a V2 skin tone to her appliers, so make sure you apply the right one with these new skins. Soleil Reid’s eyes are heart-breakingly beautiful with this look.

Mr. Beresford was, indeed, thrilled with the redecorating (and my look), but he asked if he could add a piece or two of his own. He said he had found something at Fameshed that would fit in perfectly and add his own touch of manliness to the decorating. I had given him permissions over my things, and I had to run, so I left him in charge. I was relieved to see in my email he had only sent back one chair. I was looking forward to see what he had done when I logged in later. His IM in email said, “I finished my decorating. I think the color matches perfectly so you’ll be happy, honey.”

I was pretty excited to see what he had done when I was able to log in. Mr. Beresford indeed added a touch of manliness. Wavie Haller’s Comfy Chair, a recliner fit for a man cave, had taken place of my sent-back chair. Sigh.

Psst… guess what’s coming soon. Skin Fair! Yep. So you’re gonna see a lot more of me “in the flesh,” as it were as I show off the fine aspects of the different skins being offered. Ergo, lingerie is in order, and Mariska Simons has come out with this fabulous and sexy little turquoise set, all on appliers in the many pieces you might want including garters, exposed demi bra, stockings, panties, thong. Appliers are included for every major mesh body part you need.

Maxi Gossamer has issued a romantic necklace and earrings for Collabor88, a secret love letter in a locket. I wonder who it’s from? I snuggled up in the bed that Cory Edo made for Fameshed, one of her fantastic pieces that includes seemingly a bazillion texture change options and poses. I rolled around in the soft texture-change sheets and loved every minute of it!

The news is, of course, skins, and I start with this fantastic skin from Toxxic Rhiannyr. I tripped across her store and I was excited to see a new-to-me skin maker with some fantastic work put into her skins. The thing I hear most from the Skinnies (as we call the folks in the Skin Addiction chat) is that the devil’s in the details, and Toxxic has taken care of those details. It shows on the body applier, on the hands, on the navel, breasts, and arms and legs—places where people often neglect to do the hard work to make the skin look good. And Toxxic’s face is sublime with well-place features and a lovely glow and beautiful, soft lips. I think I will be checking out more for Toxxic’s work in the future. This is a definite “find” at the Skin Fair this year.

I don’t want to wrap up without mentioning Constance Daehlie’s gorgeous eyes for Skin Fair, crystalline with tiny pupils and a very realistic reflection. My nails are also from Constance, these at Anybody, a gorgeous lacy pattern that offers a variety of looks. My big bright blue eyes go so beautifully with Truth Hawks’ new hair in blonde, a casual sexy cut that, as always, has his fabulous textures.

I swear I am going to keep it a warm December. One way is wear sweaters and other warm clothes. I put together this cute ensemble with some new things that have come out to make my December sexy and warm. Start from the top with the great KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar gift, a set of scarves from AvaGardner Kungler in three colorways for great accessorizing. Ava gave us a pink and then a black and brown (for men too!) so you can switch it up and be warm.

I matched to the scarf Moonbubble Gothly’s darling mesh sweater, which comes in several colors, and is perfect for the FROST event. I paired it with jeans from the Mustang Sally outfit that GraceHaddington recently put on her floor. With a great washed look and fit, these jeans will work with boots! And these boots were essential—not only for getting through Froukje Hoorenbeek’s prim snow but also because Carmella Ruby made them so cute. She includes a script to remove or show the sock. I just dig the low profile and the great texture she uses.

Shylah Honey has just put out one of my favorite hairs she has ever made at N21. With the waves that turn about on themselves. It’s the ultimate in wavy, windblown hair, sexier than heck, and awesome with their great texture-change HUD. This is a *must have.* My beautiful soft skin is one I picked up weeks ago during the Skin Addiction Black Friday from June Salmson. The face is exquisite with a beauty and softness that highlights my pretty eyes from Constance Daehlie. How can a girl not keep warm with such goodness?

Melancholy—KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, Day 14

Isn’t it funny that at Christmas something in you gets so lonely for — I don’t know what exactly, but it’s something that you don’t mind so much not having at other times. ~ Kate L. Bosher

I have been spending some time wandering around SL by myself and rather enjoying it. There is something in me that needs time alone, and when I can view the beautiful creations in SL, I am often content. It seems melancholy but is a pensiveness that is sometimes suitable during a busy season. Barnesworth Anubis’ new gazebo that he is selling at Collabor88 is a perfect place for solitary contemplation.

And I am contemplating yesterday’s opening of Frost because it’s bound to be packed with goodies you want for a warm winter. This darling outfit from Lisanna Lauria is sure to please with a system top in several jewel tones that also comes with appliers and pretty skirts with sparkle. Tights from a gacha at Frost from Manda Schmooz keep my legs warm and beanster Potato’s great boots with a texture-change HUD complete my wintery outfit.

This shot accents the beautiful gift in the KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar today—a gorgeous bracelet from Abraxxa Anatine, the goddess of metals and semi-precious stones. Abraxxa crafted this beautiful bracelet with sodalite and silver so it can be worn year-round, not just at the holidays.

My lovely long locks are Ikira Frimon’s featured style for Frost and I love this look. With the face-framing locks and the great texture-change HUD, this style has a lot to offer. My skin is a glowing look from Inka Mexicola with blushing cheeks and a lovely green eye makeup. And I love these deep blue peepers from Constance Daehlie.
