Queen of Love

Today is a big deal. This is my 1500th blog post. Yep. 1500! With each post at approximately 400 words, that’s 600000 words or 2400 pages of writing. (If I were writing a paper, which I am not.) With approximately 4 images per post, that’s 6000 images (though my Flickr says 7861). With about 8 slurls per post, that’s 12000 slurs. And my traffic is almost at 1 million. (Yeah, a pittance in the grand scheme of the internet but still astounding to me.)

That’s why Callie got me this crown. And then she rezzed the new KittyCatS collections. Up top in my teaser you see the KittyCatS! 4th Birthday Collectible CatS. One is given out for free when you click the birthday cake at their sim and the other you get when you hunt for it. The two can be bred to make a special kitten, specific only to these two and both KittyCatS are free.

The two special Valentine’s collections are the Forget Me NotS and the CupidCatS. Obviously, you can tell which is which, and I love the Forget Me NotS because they have that old fashioned Victorian style. Barnesworth Anubis made the pedestals for the CupidCatS!

Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I donned a bra and panty set that LacunaInc has made in red with all the appliers you might need. I am lounging on a special Valentine’s pillow from Cherelle Capra that she is offering at the Color Me Project (where everything is.. well, red.. go figure). And I love Glamistry’s new shoes with color change everything in a funky, stylish design.

Maxi Gossamer made this lovely locket that is full of a woman’s heart’s delight for Love is in the Air, hung on a beaded chain. And Sawsan Secretspy, the skin maker who never sleeps, has this gorgeous lush skin at the With Love Fair. Umazuma Metaluna is coming out with a new set of eyes for the Cosmetic Fair, and I donned a pair of the sparklers for this look. Finally, I love how Mina Nakamura’s sleek long hair curls around my shoulders, framing my face and making me look like a queen.

Love

Let us discuss “love.” I thought a lot about this. I consulted books, I read poetry, I considered philosophy and history and religion, and I thought about whom I love and who loves me.

I came to this conclusion: love, for me or from me, makes me a better person. I realize the people who love me, elevate me and make me elevate myself. It’s in the giving and receiving of love—romantic, motherly, friendship, brotherly–that I work towards being my best self. The positive reinforcement of love, the support it provides, the safety net, the acceptance I receive—it all nourishes me. In return, I can give back the same because I receive it and I can nourish others.

That being said, Valentine’s Day is really for amorous lovers, so I have a few things specifically for lovers here. First of all I show a bed from Froukje Hoorenbeek, who recently decided to spice up her offerings with a few love-making beds. I specifically say “love-making” as opposed to sex because it is evident from the features that Froukje includes, these beds are not for one-night stands. The beds include ample numbers of couple’s sex sets, all very nicely animated (from what I could tell with my one avatar) and all seemingly more geared towards a woman’s taste—lots of women’s pleasure as well as men’s in these poses, all I’m sayin’. The bed also includes lots and lots of cuddles and some solo poses, that you see above. Get one for your new home with your Valentine and make love all night long ;)

Another amorous item for Valentine’s is lingerie and I show one of camilla Yosuke’s newest releases here. With its innocent lace and flower styling, this set would be perfectly innocent except she makes the material sheer, allowing a sexy peekaboo that would race any woman’s lover’s heart. Camilla is all about the details—the lace around the edges, the garter holding a stocking that is pulled up (not straight across), a seam up the back of the stocking. Tell me your Valentine wouldn’t love this!

Finally, I wear Hart Larsson’s newest skin for this shoot, mostly because I didn’t get a chance to show off the beautifully drawn body and sensuous lips. I did not wear one of the eye shadows the sells with the skin this time. There was no need. Hart draws beautiful expressive eyes.

I shot this series of photos in a skybox made by Gin Galtier. Gin is an expert at making small, intimate spaces. This loft, with its high ceilings and ballet bars running down one wall, is a nod to the conversion of industrial spaces into work and living spaces for urban areas. What I don’t show (and should but there is only so much real estate on my blog here) is a beautifully made window looking out into an urban courtyard, giving the entire space the touch of authenticity it needs.

Happy Valentine’s Day

This is for my loved ones—my friends. Happy Valentine’s Day, dear ones, when only romantic love plays a featuring role but when we should talk about love in its wholeness. Not just eros but also philia and agape. This is for you, my friends, who make my first and second lives so rich and fulfilling.

I show a mixed bag here of a terrific (topless) corset by LeeZu Baxter combined with a blouse from Migi Voom. I have owned this corset from LeeZu a while but have always had the quandary of where to wear it—there just aren’t a lot of places I go where a topless corset is called for. However, this little top from Migi Voom suited it perfectly, and it was a perfect combination.

I have been wearing this hair from Queue Marlowe endlessly. Really, it’s getting to be a problem. I wore it to model for RFyre, I wore it earlier this week for a blog, and I wore it with this outfit when I went out dancing at Tiphares with my dear friends last Sunday. It’s my love hair.

Let me put a little plug in here for my nails too, which you can barely see, but which are freakin’ fantastic. Made for modeling poses specifically, these prim nails are worn on size 20 hands and can be clicked to adjust to the 7 different hand gestures that come with poses—relaxed, spread, typing, salute, point, peace, and fist. They fit perfectly every time without adjustment once you click the menu. And click longer and you get a variety of color choices. The natural nails are exquisite. They are highly recommended (and frequently worn since SC always wants nails when I model for him.)

Finally, these terrific pumps from Vitamin Chemistry complete the ensemble with their sexy shape and smart buckle. Pretty girls everywhere are going to want these shoes with their fine attention to detail (the great buckle, the dark soles, the well textured shoe, the steel heel tip). Va-voom!
