Split Screen Installation is back and running under Dividni Shostakovich’s curation (yay!) and he has Rebeca Bashly’s piece, Chronophobia, up right now. It’s an awesome piece (as in fills one with awe) with pantina’d skeletons on crumbling pedestals high up in the air. This is why mesh is so great to have in SL—we can have art like this. I wore a dress from Faullon for Shiny Shabby, a sexy mesh clingy number that has a great texture over a great shape. Sometimes hips in mesh dresses are squared off but not this one—all luscious curves and fits like a glove over my Maitreya body. Senzati0n Domenitzo’s lace up high heels from Whore couture add some sexiness without sleaziness and Maxi Gossamer’s pearls for Fameshed finish the look with a touch of class.

AtomicSparkle Skytower will be at Skin Fair this year with her fabulous skins for system faces and mesh bodies. I love this beautiful look with a luscious skin on the body (though I am hiding quite a bit) and a perfectly made-up face to which you could add makeup layers. Mirja Mills is offering this beautifully flowing, pulled to the side hair for Hairology when it opens on the 10th. This dark blonde tint is gorgeous, I think.

Alfajores

At first glance, the alfajor is entirely unassuming. One might even pass it up for something with chocolate chips or frosting. This would be a grave mistake. There’s a reason this simple cookie defines the cafe scene in Buenos Aires and has entire cafes devoted to it all across Latin America. It’s maybe the best cookie that ever was. ~ Julie R. Today’s cookies are alfajores, an Argentinian specialty, tender and flavorful, filled with dulce de leche. And today’s look comes courtesy of June Dion, who has made this darling Chanel-inspired outfit with mesh pieces. She includes dark and light pieces with textures that are absolutely gorgeous, even close up. I looked at the buttons over and over because they are so exquisitely done. And out and about, my ensemble got noticed—several asked me where I got it. (You will find it in th new releases section.) The outfit also comes with some system layers which are unnecessary and boots that you can take or leave. I left them for these great boots Senzati0n Domenitzo made for Shiny Shabby. They fit my calves perfectly and include all of Senz’s great colors. With Polyester Partridge’s darling little case for N21, it’s a chic look.

I am wearing the Logo mesh head again, testing more makeup applications. I used AtomicSparkle Skytower’s beautiful applier for the head and then applied one of Alaska Metropolitan’s great (and economical!) lipsticks. Omega applier eyes from Weaponized Sugar complete my look. I popped Glamistry’s awesome sunglasses on my head (even though it’s overcast) and the newest hair from Chiaki Xue, a wavy lush look that creates a darling wrap up for an entire look. Could my girl be Argentinian? She certainly is chic enough.

Leather Power

My uniform is leather and my power is my age. ~ KISS

When I don leather, even in SL, I feel a sudden surge of power. Not sure what it is—wearing the skin of an animal, the smell, the squeak. Today I feel especially powerful as all the pieces I wear were made for the Maitreya Lara body and fit perfectly so I spent less time adjusting my shape and alphas and more time playing. Start with the corset top from Tatyana Ultsch, which comes with a texture-change HUD with an assortment of colors for the main leather (belts always black). Then add the harness mesh pants Paul Lapointe and BastChild Lotus just released, especially fitted to the body. With their elaborate HUD, you can change the color of the main leather, the color of the harness, and the metal. I clicked around to find a look I liked then put on Glamistry’s higher than high heeled pumps with their own brilliant clicky texture-change HUD. Accessories like the color from Sora Tatham at Shiny Shabby and Tatyana Ultsch’s cuffs complete this look.

I donned one of AtomicSparkle Skytower’s newer skins with brows and lips and used her body applier to fit everything together. With Audrey Lamede’s new eyes for The Men’s Dept, I think I made a pretty but intense look, which is what you want your best leather-wearing powerful woman to have. Jourdanmcmillan’s sexy side-swept hair, on which I applied an ombre texture, completes the look perfectly.

Baby’s got all blue, starting with this elegant and sexy mesh dress from NataPorolo for Shiny Shabby that includes a clever fade to translucent hem and a stylish wrapped and ruched bodice. The texture is great and the mesh is nicely rigged. I wore it over the Belleza Venus body after a few adjustments to my shape and it fit perfectly (however notice my thin legs—reduced the muscular setting). I accessorized with Monica Outlander’s lovely pieces for her gacha at Shiny Shabby and slipped on wickedly high and ridiculously sexy shoes from Glamistry that he is featuring at Kustom9 with his incredible texture change HUD.

AtomicSparkle Skytower has been making skins in SL for quite a while and now she is coming up to speed with appliers soon to come out for the Belleza and Maitreya bodies to match her skins and the Slink hands and feet appliers she already has. I tested her Belleza applier and it looks darn good, especially with this gorgeous skin that comes with tattoo makeups so you can switch up your look. My wild hair comes courtesy of Kavar Cleanslate for the Festival of Sin. I used his handy HUD to get a dark hair and then added blue streaks. He has some brilliant mixed color looks and fantasy colors as well. And the aforementioned blue eyes are from Ikon Innovia, his beautiful exclusive for Shiny Shabby with system eyes and his great HUD system for mesh eyes.
