Callie told me the So caL sim was recently redone by Beloved Ruby, who is quite a talented artist, so I went over and Callie was right. The sim is gorgeous—picturesque and beautifully laid out. I’ll be coming back to take more photos! This sexy dress from Numer0Un0 that he made for Shiny Shabby stood out with its great textures and cutouts. The dress I wore was marked as “beta” for fit and I would say there might me a few problems, easily fixed with shape changes. For example, I upped the love handles to get the waist to expand the rigged dress enough to skim my waist without cutting in. I paired sexy heels from Hilly Haalan with the look. Hilly always offers a ginormous selection of colors on a HUD with all her items so you can swap out colors and match things up perfectly. I love it! I accessorized with gacha bracelets from Ors Quan for Shiny Shabby and Lapointe and Bastchild’s earrings for 100 Block.

My long hair is a lovely, pulled-to-the-side look from VivienMarli for Shiny Shabby. Monicuzza Babenco has made another spectacular applier for Shiny Shabby, and I splurged and got the new Aisha head from Catwa Clip to feature it. I am glad that Catwa decided to separate out the expressions, mouth styles, and talk features to decrease the pricing. It was too hard deciding to scratch up the money to get the new heads with features I rarely used simply to blog skins for my favorite designers. With features broken out, I could get both of the new heads and the add-on lip styles without worrying about paying for features I never used. The price was much more palatable for my needs. It also allows fans to dabble with the heads without getting in over their heads.

One of my favorite clubs in SL also seems to have one of the cheesiest names, so let’s just call it Teqi’s Sunrise and leave it at that for purposes of this blog. Teqi Falta, owner of one of the hottest sex clubs in SL, made this side club to feature Latin music and dancing and it’s really a kick, a great immersion into a sultry club with perfect dances and music.

I wore this dress perfect for clubbing from MoonCelestia for the Mesh Body Addicts. It fits to a T, as you can see, and comes with a great HUD for color change. Materials in the dress reflect the lights in Teqi’s club in a fabulous way. (Those same lights give lots of ambiance to the club but make it a stinker to photo there.) I found a cute wraparound bracelet from Sae Luan on MP to add a little gold to my look. I paired Senzati0n Domenitzo’s mules for Shiny Shabby’s next round (opens today).

Skin Fair is still on and they have removed those pesky script monitors so if you want to shop without worrying about that, go now. There are scads of amazing skins, including this applier set from Monicuzza Babenco, which gave my avatar a beautiful Filipina look, I think. Long straight hair with bangs from Ikira Frimon creates an elegance to my club look, especially since it comes with a wide variety of textures.

The setting for this grouping of furniture from the RFL Home & Garden Expo and the first anniversary Shiny Shabby is deep in the city with Nellie McKay’s satin voice. Stephen came over and gave me a tutorial in color theory in decorating, starting with the deep purple sofa and chairs Victor Newchurch made as his donation items for the Expo. With yogjio’s deco fireplace as the centerpiece and Tess Spargel’s mirror over the mantle (both donation items), we accessorized with Piraiyah Novikov’s glamorous pieces for his gacha at the Expo. I clothed the windows with the city view with curtains from Piraiyah for Shiny Shabby (which I tinted slightly), and I topped the mantle with finials from Elsa Wellesley’s gacha at Shiny Shabby. Kaerri Rae makes some of the most beautiful flower arrangements in SL, and this orchid is one of her donation items for the Expo. (She also happens to be one of the hard-working organizers, with her partner Cain Maven and bestie Reven Rosca, for the Expo). I thought Synnaria Vlodovic’s gothic chandelier with purple roses might add a kind of a eclectic addition to the décor.

My Manhattan cosmopolitan might be dressed up for a night out in Hilly Haalan’s sexy mini with a color change HUD that allows me to tint the main dress a blackberry with fuchsia insets and pink studs. The one dress could provide hundreds of combos with such versatility. My jewelry is Mea Carnell’s contribution to Cosmopolitan Room, studded with rhinestones. Senzati0n Domenitzo’s sexy shoes for Shiny Shabby complete my look.

Monicuzza Babenco has created a gorgeous applier for the Catwa mesh heads for Shiny Shabby this round, and I spent some time messing with eye makeup and lipstick to make this look. VivienMarli’s beautiful and barely controlled tumble of curls gives a wildness to this chic Manhattanite’s sexy look.

RFL Home & Garden is still going on. I got a chance to walk around after folks had set up. I indiscriminately bought things in vendors to make sure donations went to RFL—you should too. In fact, maybe you should get the scripted clock and bamboo from McChris Flanagan’s retro set, a modernist furniture grouping that reminds me of my parents’ first living room set and stereophonic sound system (in hifi, not wifi). With color change built into the menus so you can change the insets to yellow, orange or bright green and some rather humorous accessories (like that vinyl record from The Lindens and the 8-track player), the set is a virtual testament to kitsch. I added Cain Maven’s retrofuture hanging lamp and Elin Egoyan’s bright and beautiful painting to my living room and I was set.

I wearing Poulet Koenkamp’s lovely skirt and top set for the Instruments this round with her gorgeous textures. Shoes from Saki Galiazzo include a very versatile HUD for color change on different parts of the shoe and fit the Maitreya feet perfectly. I love the skin applier Monicuzza Babenco made for the LeLutka mesh heads, especially the blonde choices because they are so nicely done. My hair from Tabata Jewell for the Hairology event includes a panel in the HUD that lets you change the hair tie.

If you don’t think women in Paris wear high high heels, you are so wrong. I have been there twice and have seen women traipse through the cobblestone streets in the most death defying shoes imaginable. I have also seen them wearing fur coats over short dresses. This blog is entirely true. Kalopsia’s new Paris Je T’Aime region, absolutely gorgeously laid out and rendered, is the scene of my virtual Paris, and my love affair with the city has been renewed.

That being said, my cute little knit dress is one of Asia Rae’s newest, a smexy knit dress in great warm shades (I chose chocolate). Topping is a full fur coat from Cocoro Lemon for Shiny Shabby, an unabashed nod to luxury for this delicious city. Jewelry is a simple set from Monicuzza Babenco for The Dressing Room. And my shoes are a pair from Glamistry, completely impractical, completely sexy.

Sawsan Secretspy is out to please all her customers, so she makes appliers for mesh heads but she appreciates not everyone wants to own one. So she is still putting out beautiful system skins for the ladies who want variety in their look. My ponytail is Mina Nakamura’s for Hairology, which is opening today, giving long bangs to peek out from and a casual elegance for a walk through Paris.

How Far

I took a trip down to Furillen in my traveling outfit, a set of comfortable and subtly sexy pieces from ValentinaEvangelista. The top is a fit-to-form body suit, perfectly made to the Maitreya body. She has matched it with low-slung trousers, barely held up with a belt, quite probably my boyfriend’s pants that I put on as I slipped out the door. With a great texture and wonderfully rendered folds, the pants fit a bit loosely. Thank goodness for the belt. I accessorized with a great tie from Kitt Ragu (I have wanted one like this for a long time!) I love how Kitt always sizes to men and women—it allows a lot of fashion flexibility! Darling oxfords from roscee that include a texture-change HUD so I could mess with colors to match up and a cute little travel case from Zen Zarco finishes me.

I resized Johnfrancis Laville’s porkpie hat to fit. If you ever check out his store, the man is SL’s milliner for guys, with a variety of amazing mesh hats to complete any look, and most include a resize script. My lovely locks are JourdanMcMillan’s contribution to Hairology this month, and I chose her lightest blond with roots. I spent some time deciding what brow color to choose from Deesselle Destiny’s lovely Catwa applier skin. With freckles scattered over the cheeks, a thick defined brow and a pretty nose, I accentuated my eyes with liner on the applier and slicked on a red lip from Catwa’s HUD. Finally, thanks Senna, for making me find the look!

This is one of my latest favoritist songs so gotta feature it as a title for the blog. It’s a sexy smooth song that goes well with this sexy smooth look that shows off the dress Flutter Memel is featuring at N21, a slinky sexy latex piece that comes in several colors and is fit to the Slink bodies or standard sizing. (Medium fit my Maitreya just fine.) With materials, it has an otherworldly sheen that goes above and beyond your normal latex. I accessorized with bracelets from Druunah Esherham, thanks to Pixy who sent them to me after I jammed quite a bit of linden into the gacha trying to get these. Shoes from Diamanda Allen, featured at Cosmopolitan, add the final bit of glitz to my look with a texture change for the ankle strap and the studs.

Monicuzza Babenco has made another one of her delicious appliers for the LeLutka heads for the Shiny Shabby event, and I opted to use the Karin head this time, mixing and matching eye shadows and lipsticks until I came upon a look I liked. I love Monicuzza’s appliers—they give you a lot of bang for your linden and her textures are beautifully done for mesh heads. One of VivienMarli’s lovely sleek hairs for Shiny Shabby completes my look. It comes with a great texture change HUD.

Same Place

Years fly by, but the heart stays in the same place. ~ Harlan Coben

I took a stroll around the charming residential neighborhoods of Hesperia of Templemore and enjoyed the brisk air and sunshine on the sim (despite no scripts on the sim–grr). A soft slouchy sweater from Hilly Haalan with a gorgeous knit lace motif (I have knit something like this) with a big scarf and sexy leather mini make an outfit that’s stroll-worthy. Hilly includes a HUD that allows 12 colors on texture for the scarf, 10 for the fringe, 12 for the sweater and as a bonus, a 12 color-choice skirt, all in one. Thigh-high boots from Beanster Potato complete my ensemble.

Monyka Benelli has come out with darling earring sets at The Dressing Room: separate small earrings that you can position into place to complete a look. I used four earrings on my ears and with a little painstaking placement, achieved a multiple piercing look I can live with. Kuranosuke Kamachi has put this lush, almost vintage pageboy in the main store, and Sawsan Secretspy has created another gorgeous applier for the Catwa mesh head. It comes with several eye make ups and lipsticks and suits the Annie head perfectly.

Snowblind

My friend, Asima Saad, offered a guest blog out of the blue and I gladly accepted it because I will be out of town for a few days. So here is Asima’s blog with her photos and her story. “I get by with a little help from my friends…” Thank you, Asima.

She waved back over her shoulder to her favorite barista and stepped back out into the cold–too cold–air. She shivered with a little ‘Brr’ sound escaping her lips. Though she knew the walk back to the car would be a long one. When she had arrived the lot was filled with cars, but now it was completely empty.

“…You know when you keep running but your legs are standing still?
It’s like you’re stuck in a nightmare but you keep doing it for the thrill…”

This all had set the stage for what began to happen next. Without warning, strange white flakes began to descend from the sky. They were large, and at first, she was concerned as to what they were. She’d seen ash fall from a burning building, but this was different. There was no smell of smoke. No flash of flame on the wind. Just the cold, and the peace that came with it.

The entire city seemed to just accept this graceful blanket being dropped upon her shoulders ever so gently. And Asima too couldn’t help but but smile skyward. Her skin tingling with chill and excitement. It was her first real snow, and it was quite awe-inducing. That something with so much power, could be so still, and so completely tranquil.

With Luck–KittyCatS & Friends Advent Calendar, Day 21

The is one of those late-in-the-season posts where nothing quite makes sense. A bed in the snow? A KittyCat lounging around? Candles? An igloo? Just chalk it up to SL and some awesome décor from gachas at Shiny Shabby from Serab and Superjaix. Those candles from Superjaix have all sorts of light adjustments for intensity, color, etc. And Serab’s bed has all sorts of yummy romantic poses but I used Luna Jubilee’s reclining poses from Shiny Shabby for this set of photos.

It all centers around those pajamas, Kimmera Madison’s gift today in the KittyCats & Friends Advent Calendar. With cats in glasses, they are the cat item for the holiday, the ones you wear to open your gifts around the tree, the ones you wear all day on those pajama days, your favoritest comfiest ones with the feets. They fit mesh bodies as well as system bodies so just throw ‘em on. Get some festive bows from Aikea Reiko at FROST for your ears, forgo the contacts for your glasses (from Glamistry) and snuggle up with the KittyCat.

Monicuzza Babenco has made another fabulous applier for the Logo Alex head, which I show here. I rarely like a parted mouth but with this gorgeous skin and the expression on this head, it’s sexy and totally believable. I wore Queue Marlowe’s wild and wavy new hair because it’s a day to let my hair down. And Santana Lumiere offers these great nail appliers at her store on sale right now for next to nothing, and if you purchase a special set she has at the front of the store, you are entered into a drawing to receive all 400+ of her nail sets.
