Night Flower

A night out at Syn Beresford’s beautiful Skyfall. I wore Mami Jewell’s redone gown, which now includes appliers for almost every body in a brilliant one-piece HUD and her flowing flexis. Add AvaGardner Kungler’s new necklace for the Cosmopolitan Room and the evening is set.

Night Flower

Mirja Mills made this lovely updo for the Cosmopolitan Room as well that includes two rhinestone barettes and, as always, is imbued with romance. Kaoz Koba recently came out with a new mesh head for ladies, this lovely look that includes makeups made by SlackGirl in the HUD. I chose a makeup add-on from Slack girl for the eyes to increase the drama.

The Starlet by the Pool

The Starlet by the Pool

“Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead.” ~ Lucille Ball

The Starlet by the Pool

He spoiled her rotten and she knew it. He was a goner for her red hair and she was a goner for his huge estate in Tuscany. Not scheduled for any of the B-grade movies she found herself in, she could luxuriate for a few days by the his pool. Of course, she shouldn’t be out sunbathing but how could she resist when she had this gorgeous suit from ValentinaEvangelista from the Mesh Body Addicts Fair. No other woman would go out to the pool in jewelry but she wanted to make a statement—about luxury, about beauty, about how a woman like her could wear her jewelry anywhere she damn pleased. The big beautiful gems on Gyorgyna Larnia’s necklace and earrings for Fameshed made all the statement that needed to be said. High heel platform shoes from Senzati0n Domenitzo for Shiny Shabby even made it out on to the raft in the middle of the pool.

The Starlet by the Pool

Her face got him first—she looked like a redheaded Kim Basinger. Little did he know it was Kaoz Kobe’s newest mesh head from the Mesh Body Addicts Fair. A few clicks and glossy lipstick and eyeliner finished her captivating look. The final touch was waves of pageboy from Mirja Mills for the Crossroads Event. She was a siren, a seductress, and she was beside his pool. It’s all he could ask for.

Cowboy

I found this guy lurking in my subconscious. He’s a little country and a little bit rock n roll. I also think he’s the kind of guy who throws things on in that sort of seeming nonchalant manner (which is really very studied).

Cowboy

Let’s start with the sexy shirt from MarilynMonroe Munro. Marilyn’s business is putting out separates for casual wear—shirts, accessories, headphones, and outfits for women and men. This shirt is sexy—well textured with wrinkles in all the right places and a great versatile color.

The shorts are from Paco Pooley, inexpensive and very well done with a great camouflage texture and cargo bags and ties on the side. A lot of guys complain that there is a lack of manly clothes in SL—these shorts should keep you guys quiet for a day or two. They are just right with a nice uh.. shadowed feature in front.

Cowboy

One important part of completing the look is accessorizing. I think I work harder on accessorizing my male looks than my female looks. I found this brilliant hat on XStreetSL and ended up running over to Jon Ree’s for some great bracelets (do you guys call them that or are they like “European Wrist Decorations”). The wheat I fished out of my inventory.

The handsome face is courtesy of KaoZ Koba. I have noticed more and more men walking around with this devastating look. I am not sure how Pompeja can stand it, looking at this on KaoZ and not jumping through the monitor.

Cowboy

The final accessory are the boots from swaffette Firefly. These are boots for the cowboy who likes his crocodiles on his feet and his buckles around his ankles (and do not ask me about the multiple strange meanings that sentence might spawn). swaffette makes these for both men and women but they seemed more appropriate for my cowboy here.

Happy Birthday, Dad!!!! ;) (Yes, my RL dad reads my blog because he’s in Second Life. He follows NONE of my fashion advice, however.)

Roses for RFL

The coolest thing about the RFL Clothing Fair is that it is a huge mall, full of tons of designers, established and not, who are giving a piece of their work in benefit of cancer research but are also getting a chance to show off to a group of people they may not customarily hit. I have found some of my favorite designers in SL at the RFL Clothing Fair, previously unknown to me.

Roses for RFL

Elle74 Zaftig is a designer whose work you should get to know while you are there. I had met Elle74 Zaftig before because she did me the fine favor of making custom kilts for a friend (the McAlister and Wallace kilts now found in her shop). All she asked for were the tartans and she went to town. And boy does she know how to make a kilt. Now, there is nothing like a man in a kilt—the way his hips sway, the strength of his legs, the promise underneath. Elle gets that. She made this one specially for the RFL vendors—all proceeds will go to RFL. I suggest, gentlemen, if you want to catch a discerning lady’s eye, you get this one.

Roses for RFL

Elle also makes beautiful gowns. She made a McAlister tartan gown for me at one time that was stunning (and is being sold at RFL—woot!), and here she turns to making a more traditional gown to sell alongside the kilt. The most beautiful part of this gown, of course, is the trimming around the chest and arms. Look at the beautiful roses and laces and ribbons. (And Elle priced this at a mere 250L to get many buyers and donations—grab it!) I wear with this a lovely ring and earrings I got from Serenite Stransky’s shop at the Accessory Fair.

Roses for RFL

Finally let me talk about skin. I am wearing Tuli Asturias’ newest release, Eva. She has finally gotten a chance to get back in world to grace us all with her considerable talents. Eva is a subtle and beautiful. I have worn the preview skin over and over for these blogs; now she has come out with them, I get to wear the full set. You will be seeing more of these skins over the coming weeks.

Roses for RFL

Another skin maker I have been rockin on is KaoZ Koba (who with his fierce partner, Pompeja Rossini, has been running LaVie). You saw his work on my manly man. Now see him on this manly Scot in his kilts. (By the way, this kilt does have glitch pants. However, her men’s leather kilts are commando—as they should be ;))

Roses for RFL

How grand the human race would be
If every man would wear a kilt,
A flirt of Tartan finery,
Instead of trousers, custom built!

Manly

As you all know, I like to don a male shape and do some male modeling when SC isn’t able to. I just got my hands on some really terrific men’s skins, so I took this opportunity to enjoy the view for a while and share it with you.

Manly

I have done a few other male blogs and my male friends all come back and complain that I am not man enough. What gives?! (Besides that I am really a woman, but come on!) I received the new Mark skin from LaVie, and this time I am challenging you to tell me I am not manly enough. Especially wearing this great new hair from Truth Hawks. Stop complaining, guys—these hair makers are working hard to get you what you need. And how could you pass this one up?

Manly

Check out this chest! (Yeah his eyes are not open. We don’t need to be looking in them anyway. We can be looking at his chest!) And check out the poses. MANLY poses. Rogan Diesel is a man and he gets that you guys don’t want to look like dorks. He has made masculine poses that go beyond the caveman to the sensuous and sexy without looking wimpy.

Manly

I am wearing jeans from machang Pichot. Usually when someone does male and female clothing, they do one or the other more strongly. machang seems to have a handle on both types. These jeans are light colored, I know, guys, but look at the belt! And I didn’t tuck them into the boots this time. Come on! The boots are the gift given by Limer Fredriksson for the Le.Look holiday giveaway. Manly boots. Look!

You make me feel.. you make me feel… you make me feel like… nevermind.

The Fashionable Gentleman

SC put together a look this week that I insisted he blog. Based on what is walking down today’s real life runways, the look is composed of elements found on SL—all adding up to one great-looking man. ~ Harper

As Harper knows,  I’m interested in RL fashion that translates to SL. The RL menswear Spring/Summer 2010 shows are history, and next summer mens accessories seem to be reaching their golden age. There were more than a few interesting belts trucking down the menswear runways à Milano. And more interesting ways to wear them. I pinged on how Raf Simones is styling with belts cinching or snaking around classic suits, blazers and, well, everything else.

The Fashionable Man

Running to my inventory, I threw my Rfyre* black double belt over SF Design’s new Westminster Suit. The shape and layers are great to style up with different accessories. Opting out of a tie, I added the scripted Afghan stole from :sey, creating a layer of tamed-down John Galliano. The shoes are an elegant, classic, Hermes Men’s Formal Shoes in black leather from Styles of Edo. I love anything with the name Hermes in it.

A wardrobe should be curated a mix of a lot of elements that work together. I got good advice from a RL fashionista friend from a major brand–“…anyone who wears head-to-toe anything looks like a Sales Associate at the store.”
